How do you wean off the medicine DDAVP? I've been taking this medicine for many years only to find out my tests say I don't need it (I had small injury to pituitary in brain). Unfortunately I find it almost impossible to wean off because it makes you go to the bathroom ALOT after the medicine ware's off! since it's an anti diuretic/water retaining pill! Confusing and tricky.
One of the ways we would try to determine this was by prescribing DDAVP (if there were not any issues that would prevent using it). Desmopressin (trade names: DDAVP, Stimate, Minirin) is a synthetic replacement for vasopressin, the hormone that reduces urine production. It may be taken nasally, or as a tablet. Lack of the hormone vasopressin is more common in men than in women. Typically, those that do not produce enough will "correct" by the end of puberty (19-25 years old for men).
My question is I have asked her endocrinologist to prescribe DDAVP for her to take during several camps she has this summer. He will not because of a chance she could have a seizure. I can't remember the exact reason but it does have to do with her diabetes and how DDAVP interact in a diabetic's body. He said the chance is very low, but possible. Could you give me your thoughts on a Type 1 diabetic using DDAVP.
I often get subcutaneous bleeds on the side of my face, somewhere between just in front of the ear to about mid-cheek. They do not happen during the day, nor as a result of impact. I wake in the morning and notice them while shaving. They take the shape of a small blotch to a vertical bar. They darken and disappear over a few days. I have my blood pressure checked regularly and this is within normal bounds.

Can you give us a ballpark of what this actually means for annual cost of care? What are the implications of leaving this untreated if she has on going access to fresh clean water?
The tumor was germinoma. Yes u are right it was the optic nerve. I don't know for sure if my pituitary gland still functions I take ddavp, I also took growth hormones in the past and I take l cortef. And about the scar tissue he wants another MRI and then him and other docs will decide to do a biopsy or something els.
There is a drug called Desmopressin (DDAVP) it reduces urine production at night. But drinking too much liquid with the medication can cause problems, and Desmopressin should be avoided if you have symptoms such as a fever, diarrhea or nausea. Be sure to carefully follow instructions for using this drug.
Desmopressin is given orally as a tablet and is only for patients over 5 years old.
There are many non-protruding, needle-point-sized subcutaneous bleeding spots on the skin, which will not change color when squeezed, and more and more. All four tests of blood transfusion were normal. What are these subcutaneous bleeding points?
I have used a nasal spray (DDAVP) for three weeks, but the bleeding did not stop. I tried doubling up on the nasal spray since I was prescribed the wrong strength, but it did not help. I had my second Depo Provera shot on December 7. I thought it would help make the bleeding stop, but I am still bleeding. I have also tried a estrogen pill I was prescribed, but it has not helped.
I know I will have light bleeding on the Depo Provera, but is it normal to be bleeding for 37 days?

So I have to take DDAVP most of the time now. Before I used to be able to get away with only taking it at night. Maybe this is part of what is going on. I don't really have answer per se, but just an idea on why it might fluctuate more if u have it.
Corresponding to the palpable marker is an approximately 8 x 6 x 4 mm structure within the subcutaneous soft tissues at approximately the level of C2-C3, which is T1/T2 hypointense and demonstrates homogeneous enhancement. Vertebral bodies are normal in height and alignment. Marrow signal is normal. The cord appears normal in caliber and signal.

FINDINGS:
There is a subcutaneous hypoechoic lobulated mass with mild internal heterogeneity without calcifications and mild internal vascularity to the left of midline near the pubic symphysis that measures 3.6 x 1.4 x 2.7 cm. This does not have a normal fatty hilum of a lymph node.

I have a friend that’s been in the hospital for three weeks the doctors can’t seem to figure out what is wrong. They mention that it might be subcutaneous emphysema. Someone help!! He have swelling difficulty breathing. Air that is leaking from somewhere partial lung collapse etc. seems like doctors have done everything and still no answer.
ive never went this much during the night..i had to go get on some meds called ddavp to slow it down so i can sleep..
she will have 4 packets of oatmeal and a glass of milk in the am. Another possible symptom is nocturnal enuresis. She is on DDAVP at night .05 mg X approx. 4 months. If I remember to wake her up around 2am she may be dry, before the DDAVP she was going through 2 goodnights diapers a night... if I didn't change it midway she and the bed would be completely soaked.
Anyway, her Thyroid was hyperactive, and she is allergic to Milk and Eggs (she did have hives when we were at the Dr).
Sometimes with injuries, air can get trapped underneath the skin in the subcutaneous layers, leading to trapping of air, a crackling feeling. This is called subcutaneous emphysema. Check with your doctor to rule out this condition.

Ive had these bumps on my feet that have also been referred to as subcutaneous nodules by my GP.Started five years ago and every summer they really "come out" Was referred to a dermatologist and have seen one a year for the last five years. I was given two biopsies over this time period, checked specifically for HIV, lichen planus(hep c), and fungal. Negative for all three but results did show a "lymphohistiocytic inflammatory cell infiltrate".
