How do you wean off the medicine DDAVP? I've been taking this medicine for many years only to find out my tests say I don't need it (I had small injury to pituitary in brain). Unfortunately I find it almost impossible to wean off because it makes you go to the bathroom ALOT after the medicine ware's off! since it's an anti diuretic/water retaining pill! Confusing and tricky.
Birth control pills do not work to stop the bleeding at this time I am taking two seasonale pills daily and estrogen to try to control bleeding, but I have been bleeding for a month now. Hematologist has done tests to rule out vonwildebrands disease and other bleeding disorders, all sonograms show no gynecological problems., Have had multiple tests to check hormone function-all have showed no problems, currently cannot do any tests.

Has anyone tried to supplement your Doggy with papaya leaf extract to help raise their platelets? My dog is diagnosed with immune mediated Thrombocytopenia which means his platelets is down to like zero and many bruises on him. He's been on Pred for a wk to help increase Plt but it's working slowly. I read a review at this website herbal papaya that she used on her dog n works. I would like to know if there's more info about this papaya leaf extract.
My question is I have asked her endocrinologist to prescribe DDAVP for her to take during several camps she has this summer. He will not because of a chance she could have a seizure. I can't remember the exact reason but it does have to do with her diabetes and how DDAVP interact in a diabetic's body. He said the chance is very low, but possible. The tumor was germinoma. Yes u are right it was the optic nerve. I don't know for sure if my pituitary gland still functions I take ddavp, I also took growth hormones in the past and I take l cortef. And about the scar tissue he wants another MRI and then him and other docs will decide to do a biopsy or something els.
He will see his gastro later this month. We are desperately looking for a chance at re-treatment for the HepC, but anticipating some resistance. Even a maintenance type trial which would reduce viral load would be beneficial, since his Haem thinks the lymphoma may be triggered by an increase in viral load, which of course fluctuates.
I would greatly appreciate any info or suggestions regarding my partner’s situation.
