Ddavp and coagulation

Common Questions and Answers about Ddavp and coagulation

ddavp

Avatar f tn When I first started using DDAVP ~9 years ago i had to weigh myself every day and measure my input and urine output to get the "hang" of it. The rule was if I gained more than two pounds in day I was to cut back on my fluid intake and dose. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Mine is partial so it ebbs and flows a bit and I do have to adjust my DDAVP dose sometimes. Without DDAVP my fluid consumption is 4 or more gallons a day. At first, I kept a fluid intake and output diary. Also I weighed myself every morning to see if I was taking to much medication and/or not consuming the right amount of fluids. And yes, for me the best approach has ended up to take DDAVP just at night so that I can sleep without having to get up every 1/2 hour to drink and pee.
Avatar f tn I am so confused, I googled and all I get is about cancer and blood thinner, but the ages all say for 55 and up. She is only 9!!!
Avatar m tn Hi, Do not feel embarrassed, such problems are quite common and doctors are there to help you. So, do consult a urologist and get appropriate treatment. Here is a link that gives a lot of details about this problem: http://www.nafc.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 13 years old and has always & still struggles with bed wetting. She was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 1.5 years ago. Her endocrinologist does not believe the wetting has to do with her diabetes. If her blood sugars are high before she goes to bed we can almost be 100% sure she will have a wet bed, but most times her sugars are in range and she might still wet. She has also gone through many test on her bladder and all is normal.

Avatar m tn Cataract surgery successful with vision 6/6 (and a few letters in 6/5) Now I am advised to have laser coagulation for the other eye which is due for cataract surgery. There are no symptoms other than cataract in the eye due for surgery. I am confused about this due to the experience with the other eye. What are the risks and advantages of laser coagulation prior to cataract surgery? Can I go for cataract surgery without laser coagulation?

Avatar f tn I had later found out that her doctors had told her it was OK to take extra strengh Tylenol in addition to taking Coumadin and Plavix. Is this OK? In addition, what is the purpose of taking both Coumadin and Plavix? I understand they work by completely different mechanisms, but is taking both necessary? I am concerned she is not getting the correct information from her doctors. Also, I did my dissertation research in coagulation, so I can understand very technical answers. Thank you, Dr.
Avatar f tn I'm currently under investigation for what has so far been described as 'non-specific colitis', following almost constant bleeding since November last year. During that time I've had about 5 days when the bleeding stopped, but it started again and hasn't stopped since. What I have also noticed is that I am also getting nose bleeds when I am bleeding from this. Could the two be related or is it just coincidence?
Avatar f tn I had a CT done when the migraines began and this came back clear. I have not had an EEG done or the coagulation factors assessed but will ask about this at my next appointment. I am not on any medications to do with the surgery and am not currently on preventive medications for migraines so this cannot be the cause. There is a correlation between ASD and migraines in that usually people who suffer migraines and have an ASD repair report that the migraines improve.
Avatar m tn it is not a coagulation disorder , it is a heart disease and one of the symptoms is that the blood doesnt clot easily
Avatar f tn m 17yrs old I had a tumor that was attached to the pituitary gland when I was 12 it was removed partially the rest was removed with chemo and radiation due to being attached to my eyes. when I was 15 it came back I had chemo and radiation and it was gone now I had an MRI done and apperantly my doc sees what can be scar tissue or the tumor again. Avatar m tn Desmopressin is given orally as a tablet and is only for patients over 5 years old. According to the Food and Drug Administration, nasal spray formulations of Desmopressin (Noctiva, others) are no longer recommended for treatment of bed-wetting due to the risk of serious side effects. Again, however, I can't stress enough that your friend should be checked by the GP, as an adult , this can signal other issues that need fairly prompt attention.
Avatar f tn I have been having light bleeding since November 8, along with really bad pelvic pain, blood clots, bloating, fatigue, weakness, and feeling like I am getting sick. I have used a nasal spray (DDAVP) for three weeks, but the bleeding did not stop. I tried doubling up on the nasal spray since I was prescribed the wrong strength, but it did not help. I had my second Depo Provera shot on December 7. I thought it would help make the bleeding stop, but I am still bleeding.
Avatar f tn I go through bouts of what seems like diabetes insipidus, but i am having to pee every 20-30 minutes, and my bladder is pretty full---and I'm not drinking fluids. it will last a couple of hours, and then quit. i haven't figured out what is going on---but i do have hypopituitarism.

Avatar n tn I am nineteen years old and was found to be anemic when I gave blood two years ago and my iron levels were horrid. Every time I have given blood (three times), I experienced a hematoma at the needle injection site, which lasted for a few weeks following donation. I experience very heavy menstrual cycles which can last over a week non-stop and unrelenting. My cycles range from every 28 to every 20 to every 34 days. Sometimes I experience two a month. (I have had them since I was 10).
Avatar m tn A couple of years later, during a routine check up a small hole in the retina of my left eye was detected on the periphery and it was treated with laser coagulation. Subsequently I got myself checked every 6 months. After the regular check up in the year 2007 the doctors told me that it would be sufficient to get my eyes checked once in a year as everything was normal. However, when I went for the annual check up during Feb.
