ddavp

Avatar m tn Hi, Do not feel embarrassed, such problems are quite common and doctors are there to help you. So, do consult a urologist and get appropriate treatment. Here is a link that gives a lot of details about this problem: http://www.nafc.
Avatar f tn When I first started using DDAVP ~9 years ago i had to weigh myself every day and measure my input and urine output to get the "hang" of it. The rule was if I gained more than two pounds in day I was to cut back on my fluid intake and dose. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Mine is partial so it ebbs and flows a bit and I do have to adjust my DDAVP dose sometimes. Without DDAVP my fluid consumption is 4 or more gallons a day. At first, I kept a fluid intake and output diary. Also I weighed myself every morning to see if I was taking to much medication and/or not consuming the right amount of fluids. And yes, for me the best approach has ended up to take DDAVP just at night so that I can sleep without having to get up every 1/2 hour to drink and pee.
Avatar n tn For my whole life, I have had problems with bedwetting; I wake up in the night and my bed is soaked with pee and it is not a matter of me being lazy. ( I do not have incontinence during the day). There are times when this problem has gotten better, but it has never completely gone away and has always been an issue that I worry about and am deeply embarrassed about and ashamed of. It has been especially bad recently (I wet the bed 3 times this week), and is making me feel depressed and hopeless.
Avatar m tn I was told my condition made my bladder react like a babies and helping bedwetting “ could” be helped with surgery. I didn’t want to go under the knife for a maybe fix. My history of surgeries in my life have not been good. I am very content about it now. I always feel better going to sleep with my diaper on. I always have a mattress protector on my bed however for those occasional leaks.
481254 tn?1231583495 i have never been dry ant night so i got to about the age of 3 and was still bedwetting and it has just carried on. i have always had an underlying infection. however it sometimes flares up and i have been known to have to be rushed into hospital- but that doesn't happen so much now. what are the symptoms of diabetes? so are you saying that the bedwetting could be causing the UTI's? thanks again.
Avatar f tn I was known for my bedwetting at ages 4 and up. For a couple of years, I had a dry spell. The bedwetting just stopped. Last year, I had one accident. But, in the recent months, and early this morning, I have wet the bed a couple of times. I'm embarrassed by this, and I have no clue why I continue to wet the bed. I'm worried about this, because I'll be going off to college in the fall, and I don't want this to continue on. Whenever I wet the bed, I'm half asleep.
Avatar f tn It depends on whether there is a bladder problem or not. His /Her bladder may be small, making it hard for them to control. I have raised 3 boys and watched many nephews ,nieces and grandchildren a good age to hope for is around 4. I have noticed that the ones opting for cloth underwear instead of pull ups had better success because they did not like the feeling of being wet. I am not a Doctor , but I come from a very large family...

Avatar n tn Is your son a peaceful sleeper? Bedwetting can be a sleep disorder. We were very successful with a bedwetting program (quite expensive but we could pay it out ) in about a month, it was no longer an issue. I don't recall the name of the program, but look it up on the internet. If you can't find anything, leave me a message and I will do a little research for you. Good luck and God bless.
Avatar n tn He may not readily understand this but just continue being supportive and encouraging. You mention the bedwetting gently to your son. Bedwetting is something that may be expected among persons who drink alcohol excessively. Discuss your son's case with your primary physician. What is important is for this habit to break. Excessive alcohol intake may disrupt his focus in school and may affect his relationships.I understand that these are also your concerns.
Avatar f tn We used to be able to wake her before 11 pm, and have her go to the bathroom, and she would wake up dry. Then she was still having accidents, despite that. After she turned 6 1/2, we invested in a bed alarm. She is a very deep sleeper, and never really woke up, but after about two weeks, she had 16 dry nights in a row. Then we had some friends visit, and the kids slept in her bed. She wore the alarm, but did also have an accident.
Avatar n tn Hi.. I am rasing my grandchild who is 7 yrs old and has ODD, and DAD ( disorganized attachment disorder ) not a reconized disorder, He is also been tested for ADHD and possible underlining autisim. He wets the bed allmost every nigh and wears a pull up, which is his choice, because he does not like wetting the bed. My question is, when he goes to his dad's, his dad will not give him the pull ups.
Avatar f tn My 6 1/2 yr old son took meds from 2-4 to help him sleep at night, which put him in a deep sleep. He gas been off the meds for 2 1/2 yrs and he still cannot wake himself up to use the bathroom. How can I help fix this?
Avatar f tn I had this problem from childhood. when it happens, I find myself in dream and the senario seems to be in perfect synchronization with reality like going to toilet.please suggest ! I find myself in great distress....
Avatar n tn My daughter is 13 years old and has always & still struggles with bed wetting. She was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 1.5 years ago. Her endocrinologist does not believe the wetting has to do with her diabetes. If her blood sugars are high before she goes to bed we can almost be 100% sure she will have a wet bed, but most times her sugars are in range and she might still wet. She has also gone through many test on her bladder and all is normal.
Avatar f tn My 12 year old wetts to bed and its all the time even when her period is on!!! Ive even told her over and over and ive also showed her but its still not helping. Im stressed. The doctor says its ok but not for me. Its driving me crazy!!! She had a twin sister but she is smarter than she is. PLEASE I NEED SOME ADVICE!!!!
Avatar m tn Also, I have problem of bedwetting where I dream in sleep that I am in washroom (or somewhere appropriate for urination) ready for urinate but when I wake up and I am in Bed and find bed wet. Is this related to weak bladder? Many years of embarrassments. Any advice?
Avatar n tn I am a 60 year old male and have had a problem, over the last ten years, with bedwetting on an infrequent basis, maybe 1 or 2 times a month. The occurences follow no particular pattern, can happen either with or without the consumption of alcohol. Had this investigated at the beginning and consultant was unable to find a cause. Since then my prostate has become enlarged, benign, taking medication for this but still means getting up a couple of times a night.
1363339 tn?1338771053 They also help with DDAVP
Avatar m tn Other treatment options are bladder volume training, bedwetting alarms and setting an alarm during the night at a random time in order to urinate. If still the symptoms persist then medical treatment with desmopressin, imipramine and anticholinergics can be tried. Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing. Kind regards.
