My doctor thought it was fungal, so she had me use Nizoral regularly. It kept my dandruff from becoming even worse, and sometimes my dandruff was mild but not gone. Then I recently contracted pneumonia and was given a round of strong antibiotics. My dandruff disappeared on the 7th day of my antibiotic treatment and has not returned for a couple of weeks now. This makes no sense to me, as I know that dandruff is not bacterial in nature. Do you have an explanation for this?
I am having burning sensation in eye (one eye only) for the past 5 months & it worsens when watching computer/TV particularly in high temperature rooms (due to hot climate) & went to several ophthalmologist for a cure,some told me its due to over secretion of meibomian oil,probably due to dandruff & as a treatment gave topical antibiotic+corticosteroids to apply it on lid margins for 10 days.but the problem is not clearing up.
hello I have a problem I think I might have psoriasis or dermatitis I have this rash on my eye brows and around that areas it is redand sometimes between my nose and sometimes it gets this white flakes I also suffer from dandruff as well any body know a cure or rexactly what is is from what I describe it's embarassing
What can I do to get rid of persistent dandruff? Medicated shampoos just make it worse. Also have itchy head sometimes.

My 7 yr old female cat has developed what appears to be dandruff thick skin flakes that slough off. Is this a cat's allergy or a dietary problem?
Ive always suffered from dandruff and so i used T-gel and capisal anti-dandfuff shampoos, but when i got pregnant my doc told me not to use them because of coal tar and so i stopped, it also says on the back of the bottle not reccomended during pregnancy, its been 9 weeks and my head is soo itchy its driving me mad :( .. Anyone know any good natural ways to get rid of it?
Hi Everyone, around a month ago my alt was 176 and going to start my treatment next week. Now a days i feel very very itchy specially on face and head. all of a sudden i have a whole lot of dandruff all over my head. i even used anti dandruff shampoo everyday but didn't help. is this because of Hep c? i have genotype 3. I have had dandruff since a teenager, used Head and Shoulders type shampoo for decades. I am 60 now and about 5 or so years ago, just gave up. I have lots of red bumps on the back of my head, some around the hairline on front. Some bleeding sometimes. In most cases just an annoyance, not a serious issue.
I hurt my back about 3 weeks ago and finally went to the doctor cause it was not getting better, Doctor prescribed a tapering dose of Prednisone (60x4days, 40x3 days, 20x3 days).
t seem to have made much of a dent in the dandruff. Like I said, the dandruff is minimal on some days and heavier on other days with seemingly no rhyme or reason.
I've tried adding some olive oil to his food, and even rubbing some on him because I read it might help, but really when I massaged some olive oil into his skin it almost seemed to make the dandruff worse.
What do you all think? I have read they sell dog balm and dog moisturizers, which I'd never even heard of before.

ve just found this forum and I'm delighted! I have to wash my hair EVERY day and by lunchtime it smells bad, more so on my scalp but my hair too! I've tried T-Gel, Nizorel, Vosene, Sulphur shampoo, anti dandruff stuff prescribed by the doctor (who actually didn't believe me, she clearly didn't get close enough!) and I'm starting to get paranoid, not to mention worried about the condition of my hair due to constant washing, drying straightening.
You don't cure blepharitis you control it (like oily skin or dandruff). Use the search,eye topics and archives to read all the posts about how to better control this. Also see an Eye MD ophthalmologist find one at www.aao.
hi jojo......hope u see this message. Iv started taking yeast defense tablets...2 in a morning and 2 at night...i believe its the yeast that causes the smell thats why the scalp smells yeasty. Iv also tried jason dandruff which isn't a cure but does keep my scalp odour at bay....but if i stop using it the smell comes back. I havent had to use the jason dandruff shampoo now for a week as taking these tablets and using normal shampoo (thank God) seems to have solved the smell.
I have dandruff problem and i inherited it from my father. I take head bath everyday, if i dont my scalp gets filled with dandruff and extremely itchy, if i skip headbath for two days or even one, it becomes highly unbearable. I used Head & Shoulders shampoo everyday which definately controlled the dandruff but itching is still there(not as bad though).
I have constant dry scalp. It does not flake like Dandruff. I get sore spots all over especiallly along hair line. I had it bad a few years ago, then it got better. It just never cleared up. It hurts to even brush my hair. It has made my hair so dry that I cannot even style it anymore. It feels good after first washing it, but then it starts all over again. It itches too.
