I had been taking cytomel 5mcg and synthroid 112 mcg a day and was not feeling well. My dr. Then increased my cytomel to 7.5 mcg once a day. I am still not feeling well. I have more energy but i continue to experience hunger, weight loss and hair loss.
My recent blood tests are as follows
T4 9.4 range of 4.5-12.0
T3. 85 range 71-180
Tsh 0.450 range of 0.450-4.500
Free t4. 1.33 range 0.82-1.77
Ferritin serum 56 range 15-150
Iron bind 243.
Was put on synthroid 100mg and was having severe anxiety and panic attacks within 1-2 months. Felt like I was dying. Suffered with anxiety and air hunger, fatigue for almost a year until I found another doctor who adjusted my meds. On synthroid I continued to just not feel right. I found a doc who dx me with hashimotos in 2007. She still wasn't listening to my symptoms, so I went from doctor to doctor until I found my current doc.
for thyroid, but while out of state, I had my faith tested with her, when she agreed to shift me to Armour, in the midst of a Cytomel shortage, but the dosage was going to be ridiculously low.
Arguing this point was too much stress, so I stayed with the Levoxyl/Cytomel combo. Her suggestion was 4 days 50 mcg Levoxyl, 3 days 75 mcg Levoxyl and daily, 25 mcg Cytomel.
I have been on Synthroid 0.075 mcg once daily, and Cytomel 5 mcg twice daily. I had to stop him though and tell him of the symptoms I have been having over the past year. I have gained 15 pounds, most of the last 8 pounds in just three months.
Yes I feel like I am eating all the time. I don't eat much when I do but then I get like crazy had hunger pains and they don't go away until I eat. It is driving me mad!
