cymbalta

1442059 tn?1340244552 I was on Cymbalta for 5 months. Only side-effects I had was nausea for about 1 week then it went away. Cymbalta was very energetic and helped me going thru the hard time I was dealing when my mom had cancer. When she passed I stopped cold turkey and had brain zaps for 1 month. This drug is very potent and can work very well but it's not a cheap drug and cost a lot. I was very active while being on Cymbalta (going to the gym 3-4 times a week and jogging 45 min everyday) and very outgoing.
Avatar f tn I' m on cymbalta and i think its very good! Gives a lot of energy and i can stand the litle side effects i have, like increased sweating, and litle jaw tremor which is reducing by time. Another side effect i have is delayed ejacuation, but i enoy that.
Avatar f tn and the list goes on. This is truly hell. I know this is not depression or anxiety. This is WITHDRAWAL from the medication. I don't care if technically it is not withdrawal because you can't get addicted to Cymbalta but I tell ya I sure feel like going back on it to make the suffering stop. In my eyes, that is being addicted. Unlike those who withdraw from alcohol, crack and whatever else - these people get to go to these weekly spas to recover in.
Avatar f tn I have in the last 4 months tapered myself off the cymbalta and I am suffering from withdrawal symptoms. I have been two weeks totally off this drug . The dizziness and brain zaps are getting better, but my taste buds are still horrible. It feels like the front of my tongue has been burnt and it feels like my teeth are coated with rubber. How long do these withdrawal symptoms last. I can handle it all, but the taste bud sensation is horrible.
Avatar n tn Otherwise I really wouldn't sleep and have terrible withdrawal. My migraines are better but I have terrible aching from fibromyalgia. My dr. recommended Cymbalta yet I fear taking it due to side effects and I have also read that it is very addictive. I don't want to take another addictive med when I'm already trying to stop the vicoden. Has anyone found pain relief with Cymbalta or has taking Cymbalta helped anyone wean off vicoden? My dr. is wanting to give it to me for my fibro pain.
Avatar m tn Then it was going to happen AGAIN but I was smart the second time and expected it to happen so I gradually poured more and more powder out of the capsules over the course of months to prevent withdrawal and the second time I didn't experience withdrawal at all. Only problem is the second time I soon after had my next full psychotic break. juliagulia45 Benzos you have to be careful about withdrawing from because the withdrawal can actually kill a person.
Business woman1 I was removed off of saphris last october, and was put on wellbutrin 150mg and had a TERRIBLE reaction to it. now think I am experiencing side effects that (in my opinion) appear to look like adrenal problems (fatigue, unneccesary anxiety, muscle spasms/twitching, problems walkng, craving sugars etc.
Avatar n tn does anyone know when the side effects of weaning yourself off of effexor stop? i have been completely off of it for three days now and i still feel awful. my coordination is off, i feel confused and forgetful, but the most irritating and troublesome side effect is one that is hard to describe. about ever ten seconds or so i get a really strange feeling in my head. almost like a pulsy - dizzy - out of it feeling. im just wondering when these things will go away. i feel so odd. thanks!
Avatar n tn Attention anyone taking Cymbalta...PLEASE read about the side effects and the horrible withdrawl symptoms. It turned me into a zoombie then it took over a year to withdraw from. It is worse than anything I have ever experienced in my whole life. I am not going to be a guinea pig for any more of these new drugs, I'll just stick with vicodin.
5429367 tn?1368189606 While it is a concern when taking antidepressants, it's rarer than people think it is, and often times, what people assume is SS is often a sensitivity or intolerance to a medication that causes severe side effects. Cymbalta is an SNRI, it works to increase the circulating norepinephrine in the brain, whereas the SSRIs, like Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft, etc, increase the circulating amount of serotonin in the brain. Therefore, serotonin syndrome would be far less commonly seen with SNRIs.
Avatar n tn Now, I know this drug has helped some people, but for me the price/side-effects and withdrawal hell just aren't worth it. I did talk to my pharmacist who told me to talk to my doctor. Sigh. Now I am going to see if I can find a doctor who will actually acknowledge that there is such a thing as Cymbalta withdrawal, and who will help me to safely get off of it.
Avatar f tn You have to even go down to splitting the smallest dose into just grains until you can wean off this drug. The withdrawal side effects are akin to heroine withdrawal, so you should take this very seriously. I was down to 12 grains before I stopped, I still got the electric shooting feelings going on in my head, severe nausea and body aches, I had the chills and was sweating profusely. I also took ativan to help with the shakes, it was awful.
Avatar n tn I guess the biggest fear after surfing the net in the past was that even if one tolerates the side effects, it stops working after 3 or so months and then it's hell to get off. I see my pain guy on May 28th, so I'll let you all know what has been decided. I'm seriously considering this drug as an option.
Avatar f tn We're all lab rats! Yep, cymbalta and lyrica together worked great for me, other than the Lyrica side effect of weight gain, coupled with sudden onset hypertension- I had to come off of it :( But it seriously reduced my pain by like 80%. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Why not just stay on them and not suffer from withdrawals and possibly have your terrible effects of depression return? Are the side effects of being on these antidepressants that bad? His doctor lowered his doasage without telling him; he didn't know until he looked at the bottle that he picked up from the pharmacy... Clearly I'm no doc but the general idea of going off seems bad enough let alone going ahead and lowering his dosage without telling him... I suggested he switch doctors... .
Avatar n tn No side effects. But I still needed 2 MG Xanax cause anxiety did come. Today I woke up at 2AM and could not sleep, so at 4AM I took half a peach (=.25), then Prozac at 9am, felt anxiety then too a Xanax at 10am, but guess what I did not need anothe Xanax till nearly 4pm! and even then it was not really an axiety thing, I just felt like I should taper it more. So I will try to go as long as I can tonight before taking one.
Avatar n tn I thought Tramadol was an amazing drug. Very few of the side effects of narcotics, but excellent pain control. I had no clue that I could become seriously addicted to it. I don't even know if any of the normal therapies for managing withdrawal would work for tramadol, but I've somewhere down the road anyway. I just wish I knew how long it would all take. It's so muc easier to be in a hard place if you know when it's going to end. I guess I'm paying for my pain free months this month.
530150 tn?1284662480 I begged my doctor not to prescribe it to others without sharing some of the horrible side effects with them of the withdrawal process that is possible, with tapering off process. I have found the withdrawal worse than the anxiety ever came close to that I was prescribed the medication for.
Avatar n tn If you're having side effects from the medication that are causing you to think twice, then that is another story. The withdrawal has several stages, the first being 4-5 days of severe flu-like symptoms. That is usually followed by a period of depression and low energy. Different people experience different things for different periods of time. But the bottom line is if you want to quit, quit.
Avatar n tn She was like a guinea pig and now, 8 years after, she is living with side effects that have never gone : hypotension (around 8), fainding every day, unbearable headaches, kidney pyelonephritis every months, and an exhausting fatigue that keep her in her bed sometimes several days, where she can hardly eat alone. Before that, she was so full of life, making car races, flying planes, being a model for photographes, and photographer herself.
Avatar n tn Is it like saying just taking longer birth control pills? What are the side effects? What are the benefits? Has FDA approved? Where i can search more about Yaz? Will it affect my future plan of having a healthy pregnancy? Also, i was told if i do want to get pregnant, i should wait 6 months after taking the birth control pills. is that true?
Avatar n tn No I'm not crazy just been on Cymbalta.. Please google cymbalta withdrawal and see what you can find.. interesting reading on cymbalta sucks if you use that in google as well.. I'm down to half my dose and still unable to get off 48 hours without feeling VERY sick.. I started taking if because of neck pain and it was great for about 3 or so months but I realized I didn't feel sad OR happy.. so I decided to go off of it a few months later..
Avatar n tn Its a relatively new drug and the side effects are not completely known yet, and certainly there is no clinical information re its relation to oxytocin. I suggest that you deal with your depression without medication but look at what you are afraid to look at with a competent therapist as your guide. Since you have been addicted, this means that you are using medication to avoid dealing with your interior mind...time to change directions.
Avatar m tn I had been to a holistic doc, a neurologist thinking I had MS. then finally realized my symptoms were side effects from the lyrica, then withdrawal....I'm sure it works fine for some people, but I have always been hyper sensitive to meds....the new ones, especially. I am searching for a drug that will help the fibro, but cymbalta made me super nauseous so I feel stuck. any input would be appreciated.
202665 tn?1248810333 With any medication you just need to think does the benefits outweigh the side effects...in your case no. You cannot do what you love because of the side effects but you should really consult with your doc before just stopping them, you need to be tapered off and it often can make you go into a depressed manic phase that you typically would not of gone into with a slow reduction. Plus there are other better meds that may not give you those side effects and still manage your symptoms of BP/mania.
Avatar n tn Ativan and other tranquilzers can provide temporary relieft, but in the end you will get some of the withdrawal effects. I've been through it twice with effexor and cymbalta, and I had to split my capsules into minute doses at the end of my time taking them both. These drugs don't always work, and some work better then others. Most depression is caused by a chemical imbalance of the brain, so getting a good combination of drugs can be tricky. It's important to see a psychiatrist in any case.
Avatar m tn duh, right? Yes, yes, the side effects that i thought were from lyrica withdrawal went away.....Nobody can say with certainty when the agony of your ordeal will subside...But more good than you will ever know has come from your just being able to express your pleas... Seek ..seek.. Med help has many specialty forums, other such help web sites exist..ask Don't take too much b12....don't drink too much coconut milk... No wonder cures...just calm....let your mind take you back to good times....
Avatar n tn i'm concerned about the quick detox and am considering starting on kolonapin and slowly weaning off over a period of time to minimize the withdrawal effects i am experiencing. i don't feel capable of returning to work as a hairdresser at this time. please give me your detailed opinion.
Avatar n tn never mentioned that Effexor is associated with withdrawal symptoms. The effects of the Wellbutrin seemed to kick in almost immediately. My libido jumped way up, and just like that I quit smoking cold turkey. I couldn't stand the smell or taste of cigarettes all of the sudden. Now without the smoking, I also found that my morning coffee was nearly forgotten. (I'm sure that withdrawal from nicotine and caffeine added to my symptoms.
Avatar n tn To me, the non-medical person, the side effects from Zoloft withdrawal are much worse than the side effects from Xanax (which, I am told, is an addictive drug). Also, the psychiatrist is much more concerned about the addicitve qualities of Xanax then she is with actually helping me feel better. I decided that I would be better off if I could just get off everything.
