Yes I took Cyclosporine for my aquagenic urticaria, it helped so much but not enough to have a normal life :S but maybe for you its going to be different...
About 6 months ago, I was finally diagnosed and started taking cyclosporine 100 mg 2x day. After a week, I could eat like a normal person—just about anything I wanted. It was great, it even allowed me to travel to Europe. The cyclosporine I was taking was a powder in a capsule, apparently this has been taken off the market and instead I took the same medication, but it was in the form of a capsule with alcohol. Unfortunately, after a short time, I was right back to before treatment.
I am still on 100 mg 2x daily cyclosporine. My cyclosporine through levels have been lower, the last time they were at 79. I Have been on 300 mg ursodiol 3x daily for biliary stricture since tx. I lowered the dose to 300mg once daily but just recently raised it back to 300x 3 daily because right side discomfort an increase in bilirubin. My headaches and fluid in ears have gotten better, still have the vision issues but heart palpitations have also lessened.

We immediately put her on an antibiotic ointment and cyclosporine. It has been almost 10 days and while there is less discharge, she is still having some trouble opening her eye, she just keeps it closed (unless she gets excited). At some times you look at her and she looks completely fine, others times she can barely open her eye. Is this normal for KCS? Should we have seen some major improvement by now?
The specialist reviewed all of the options with us - cyclosporine, pilocarpine or tacrolimus with sirolimus. She said that very rarely has she seen any dog respond to cyclosporine after not responding to tacrolimus. She also said that because our dog doesn't have a dry, goopy nose, that pilocarpine wouldn't be a first choice. She recommended a mix of tacrolimus with sirolimus. She said sirolimus is new. I have not been able to find anything about this drug on the internet.
Close to five years post liver transplant. No rejections, cyclosporine mono -therapy .Also take 300 mg ursodiol 3x daily for bile duct stricture. Vascular hyper-tensions are becoming a real concern. ie heart, palpitations . fluid in ears , vision problems that aren't related to my actual eyes, the opthamologist confirmed, Migraines that have actually gotten better lately. kidney function is still adequate. My liver is doing very good especially with hep-c..
and the vet will probably prescribe cyclosporine drops to help the eye produce more tears. Before you use the cyclosporine drops, be aware that they will sting your dogs eyes, and long term use may contribute to kidney disease...talk this over with your vet.
Since your dog is 12 years old, please have annual bloodwork done on him to assess liver and kidney functions...bloodwork should be done on all senior dogs.

First of all what symptoms are you having?
Second "simply being within range" for your FT3 and FT4 is NOT sufficient for many people. Similarly many people are clearly Hypo and need medicine when their TSH is even over 1.0.
The reference ranges are FAR too broad. And many people find that in order to feell well lthey need to keep their FT4 levels at the MIDDLE of the range if not even slightly higher AND (that means in addition to) their FT3 must be in the UPPER 1/3 of the range.
I believe the normal range is anything under 5. The scale is 1-10. Anything under 5 is within in normal range. Mine was at 7.4 before surgery. Doctor's usually use this just as a point of reference because so many other things can cause an elevated result. Very similar to the CA-125 test that way. Hope this helps...not a doctor just remember how hard I tried to find answers to the same question!
I am currently under St Thomas hospital for this, they are stating I should take Cyclosporine for 6 months, I was wondering if someone on here has taken this treatment and it has worked for them??, I am not convinced on this medication as I have read so many bad things about it.
My consultant has stated that 70% of people whilst on cyclosporine will be clear, one third will have total remission,one third will be same as before, one third will be worse once the treatment has stopped.
My allergist did lab work for thyroid and the thyroid function test came back normal, but my thyroid peroxidase levels were at 286. He explained to me it was an autoimmune disorder and put me on Cyclosporine. I was wondering if I needed any kind of thyroid medicine?
He will then compare it with normal values and determine whether or not your dog is producing an adequate amount of tears to keep the eye lubricated.

I was switched to cyclosporine and Myfortic. When the Incivek was started my cyclosporine was dropped to 25 mg once per day due to their interaction. Due to my previous non-response and to the multiple variations of the HCV I carry my odds were considered to be about 30%, maybe 40% at best. At the end of week 4 the HCV RNA was not detectable. The only additional side effect is that the anemia came quicker this time. I will start Procrit injections probably sometime this week.
I was given an immunosurpressant called cyclosporine which helped keep the psoriasis like rashes away but I had persistent red bumps which didnt itch, but would spike in pain under stress/ excessive activities like carrying a lot of heavy things. Cyclosporine was never seen as a permanent treatment and my doctors wanted to wean off. About 6 months since beginning cyclosporine my condition changed to be much more needle pain than rash, and i stopped getting psoriasis like rashes altogether.
Serum HCV RNA became undetectable at week 3 of treatment and remained undetectable during 24 weeks of triple therapy as well as during post-treatment follow-up. Daclatasvir was well-tolerated and the trough drug levels were within the targeted range throughout treatment. The cyclosporine trough levels were also stable during and after therapy.
t swelling and foamy urine. Now that I have a diagnosis, I am on pill forms of Prednisone every other day and Cyclosporine 2x every day. I have been on the meds for over 1 1/2 weeks and noticed that the foamy urine amount has doubled, my face swells unbelievably, and walking is difficult, as the bottom of my feet and ankles cause me severe pain. I checked with my Nephrologist and she states that it will take a little while for my body to adjust to the medicine.
I have been taking Restasis regularly for 2 months now for dry eye treatment. I usually put two drops in my eye at a time instead of just 1. It says it has "Cyclosporine Opthalmic Emulsion .05%. I have taken two Oraquick home tests and they both came up negative for hiv. Would the Cyclosporine be able to cause a false negative?
