Hello I have been taking generic Crestor for about two years. It has dropped my LDL to 39-45 range and blood glucose ranges from 105-111 fasting. A1c 5.1 - 5.3. Prior to the statin I was below 100. I am not overweight, exercise consistently and eat very healthy. So the statin is the culprit. I am wondering if being stricter on carb intake and supplementing with Berberine will help? Or has anyone had better outcomes with other statins like livalo or pravastatin?

It used to be thought that a high HDL protected people from CAD, but in recent years there have been some trials which have somewhat disproved this fact. Even so, you have only one risk factor ( family history), and so your LDL is at goal.
Could my shortness of breath. weakness and aching be cause by Crestor? I have seen a pulmonary doctor and a cardiologist. They say my heart and lungs are fine.

Serotonin- Serotonin may alter itch perception, which may be why selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) have been found to help manage pruritus in some people.
Bile Salts- Those with liver disease may have higher levels of bile salt building up under the skin, which may cause itching.
t think we can afford it because it is $305 for a month supply! I am already on Crestor, so I thought Crestor and maybe baby aspirin would be enough. Besides Aggrenox has aspirin in it.

HBV DNA clearance was assessed using assays with different sensitivities to detect HBV DNA. Adefovir and lamivudine increased HBV DNA clearance at end of treatment versus placebo. Entecavir increased clearance versus lamivudine with inconsistent effect size.
As mycholesterol values were to high, my doctor prescribed me Crestor (Rosuvastatin), cholesterol medication. Is there any problem taking this medication without damaging liver or hepatitis values?

At the present though, two drugs already target the overexpressed protein. These drugs are Herceptin and Lapatinib and has been shown to improve outcomes in breast cancer patients.
The benefit of hormonal treatment beyond 5 years is only demonstrated with the drug Femara (MA17 study) and I'm not aware of similar trials involving Novladex.

Fortunately there are other trials continuing with much better outcomes. This - a possiblility of pancreatits or cardoitoxicity - is an absolute reason to back down.
I even wish Vertex and Merck had worked a little harder to try to get rid of the side effects from the PI's although they are not near as bad as this.
A recent check up showed 50% blockage. Why is this so. I thought it should be all clear. I am taking Crestor and Sotalol, plus exercise and careful diet.
We have good data that statin therapy improves outcomes in patients with CAD with improvement seen at even lower dose of cholesterol then you have. We also know that statins seem to have beneficial effects independent of cholesterol reduction including anti-inflammatory effect and possible improvement of the health of the inner lining of the blood vessels.
Yes, any trial listed on the NIH site has to comply with their rules and they must have IRB approval. International trials like the REDEMPTION trials have even more requirements they must meet to be listed. They must also list each national or international health organization with authority over the protocol.
I have taken Crestor 10 mg for 6 weeks and then my hair started falling out. Anyone experience this? Tests ruled out any other source of problem.
hi! My Dr put me on Crestor, 40 mg once a day for high cholesterol and coronary plaque buildup..... Today is my 4th day taking it. Ive seen the commercials...and Ive researched online...It seems ok...Ive tolerated Lipitor in the past with absolutly NO side effects.
I just noticed today that i seem to be sore...in my shoulder and neck.... as when I would shrug my shoulders...the muscles there seem sore when I do that.
Now, maybe I did something...? Sat the wrong way, slept the wrong way...

My Asthma Dr. said that he would consider changing from Lipitor 5 mg to Crestor (dosage not yet mentioned) after 1 more blood test. 3 years ago another dr. suggested a change, but cardiologist said no need to. Another Dr. (forum) suggested using, in addition to Fish oil for tri-glycerides, niacin. And he said statin users should take CO-enzyme Q 300 mg.
