Crestor inflammation

Common Questions and Answers about Crestor inflammation

crestor

Avatar n tn Yes, the prophylactic administration of isoniazid (INH) for a TB chest conversion may cause inflammation of the liver, but does so in a minority of individuals taking the medicine. However, there is also the risk of liver inflammation due to the medicine Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and it is conceivable that there could be an additive effect of Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and INH. In addition, niacin may increase the risk of muscle disease called myopathy when used with Crestor® (rosuvastatin).

Avatar f tn Had been on Augmentin for a sinus infection, just finishing up the script, and take Crestor, Nexium, and Zyrtec on a regular basis. Symptoms started a few days after starting generic Zyrtec, which also caused unbelievable dryness that felt like I was dehydrated (no vomiting, though). A day after the chills, I noticed my urine was dark and my stools were very light, almost gray, and I started getting very itchy but no rash.
Avatar f tn C-Reactive Protein (CRP) is a molecular marker of inflammation. Inflammation could occur because of, for instance, an infection (viral or bacterial). Chronic inflammation has also been correlated with heart disease, diabetes, and some cancer processes (mainly colon cancer). My quick search of PubMed didn't reveal ANY studies directly linking CRP to thyroid disorders.
Avatar n tn I was on Crestor for a couple of years, and last year I started getting PVC's. I was taken off Crestor because my liver function started showing up with issues, and my cholesterol was VERY low on it. I was only on it because I am diabetic, and they want much lower cholesterol than normal. Regardless, since I have been off the Crestor, my PVC's are now gone. Not reduced, but gone. They slowly tapered away as the Crestor left my system.
Avatar n tn Could my shortness of breath. weakness and aching be cause by Crestor? I have seen a pulmonary doctor and a cardiologist. They say my heart and lungs are fine.
Avatar m tn (1) High C-reactive protein levels are associated with inflammation and heart disease/stroke. The authors concluded that, in apparently healthy persons with elevated C-reactive protein levels, rosuvastatin (Crestor) significantly reduced the incidence of major cardiovascular events. Their much-publicized claim, that this statin lowers the risk of heart attack by approximately one half, is technically correct though highly misleading.
Avatar n tn i have just changed from Crestor to Lipitor and back again. No side effects. Why are you taking statins? You have a heart problem? What are ast and alt? I've been on stats for four years wnd never heard of them.
Avatar m tn My GP has immediately put me on a daily low dose asprin and 20mg Crestor and has requested I have a Mycocardial Perfusion Scan and intends for me to see a cardiologist who he says may do an angiogram and possible stent. I am male, almost 60, 5'11, 92kgs and have a good diet (losts of fruit and veges with little deep fried) although I do not exercise as much as I should.
1635667 tn?1300186821 t the main culprit anyway) is to lower inflammation. The doctor should run a high sensitivity CRP test, this test for the amount of inflammation in the body, if high, then the changes of having a heart attack due to the cholesterol are indeed greater. Actually, as we get older, we need that extra cholesterol, it helps in the manufacturing of hormones, it gets a bum rap from the AMA, but it just isn't so.
Avatar f tn As mycholesterol values were to high, my doctor prescribed me Crestor (Rosuvastatin), cholesterol medication. Is there any problem taking this medication without damaging liver or hepatitis values? Thank you !
745393 tn?1345077196 I have tried a lot of meds for this condition, have taken advicor, lipitor, crestor, zetia, tricor, provastatin, niaspan, gemfibronil. I have been on lovaza (omega 3,and 6 ) for the pass five months, but as you can see it has not helped very much. Heart doctor says I have taken the limit. All of these choles meds causes me to ache in my muscles very very bad, and dr. says this could be a serious situation. I need to know from someone please what can I take now ?. I need very bad to be on some med.
Avatar f tn I have taken Crestor 10 mg for 6 weeks and then my hair started falling out. Anyone experience this? Tests ruled out any other source of problem.
Avatar m tn I agree with that statement you are what you eat but the MAIN cause of heart attacks is not high cholesterol it's inflammation. What causes inflammation? SUGAR, GLUTEN, processed foods. Sugar is the main culprit.. the inflammation is the reason why people have heart attacks.. we are a fat phobic world when we shouldn't be and that is the problem right there. People who have good cholesterol are having heart attacks all the time..
Avatar f tn hi! My Dr put me on Crestor, 40 mg once a day for high cholesterol and coronary plaque buildup..... Today is my 4th day taking it. Ive seen the commercials...and Ive researched online...It seems ok...Ive tolerated Lipitor in the past with absolutly NO side effects. 907968 tn?1292622204 I'm on a 30 day trial offer from Crestor (20mg) to replace my Simvastatin (20mg). I'm sure I know the answer to this question but hearing other opinions would be welcomed... As I understand it, Crestor is a bit stronger than Simvastatn, or should I say, You can take a smaller dose of Crestor to equal Simvatstatin. Other than the equivalent dose change is there any other differences - side effects I should be looking for?
Avatar n tn My Asthma Dr. said that he would consider changing from Lipitor 5 mg to Crestor (dosage not yet mentioned) after 1 more blood test. 3 years ago another dr. suggested a change, but cardiologist said no need to. Another Dr. (forum) suggested using, in addition to Fish oil for tri-glycerides, niacin. And he said statin users should take CO-enzyme Q 300 mg.
Avatar n tn After 7 years of therapy taking Crestor and Tricor (fenofibrate), I, too, started experiencing intense pain in my legs, feet, back, and arms. My Dr. took me off Crestor last month but the pain returned within a few days, although not as intense as it was prior to my stopping Crestor. I took myself off fenofibrate just a couple of days ago and "Wow" what a difference! I can actually sleep at night and notice that the pain is dissipating more and more each day.
Avatar f tn I was put on Lipitior and it raised my liver enzymes. Now I am on Crestor and it works great and cholesterol is normal.
Avatar f tn I started on crestor, than realized I am ttc and starting not feeling well and am on my ttw...I test for my pregnancy saturday. I took the crestor for 4 days than stopped and its been a little over a week. Should I restart and then stop if pregnant or not bother because of the possibility of there being a fetus? I am just worried about my health.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 1000 mg Niaspan for six years to treat genetically high Lipoprotein(a). Now my physician wants to stop the Niaspan and begin a very small dose of Crestor. His reason is due to a recent study indicating Niaspan as a risk of causing bleeding and/or infection problems. I have already had one bad experience with another statin, Advicor, that resulted in me having permanent lymphedema in my ankles and legs. Now I am unsure about Niaspan.
Avatar n tn I did some research on crestor after I posted my first question and saw that there have been lots of issues with Crestor raising blood sugars in type 2 diabetics. The Crestor site even says that this can happen. If you google Crestor raising blood sugars there are many websites that come up. I am not disputing the fact that diabetes is progressive, but it is just so odd that days after starting these meds my blood sugars started getting out of wack.
Avatar f tn cholesterol 233 and LDL 166. They are putting me on Crestor for cholesterol. My concern is the thyroid levels. I just get so tired and put on so much weight when the levels are off. Anyone have any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I just got my results back for my chloresterol levels and wondered if the numbers are good? I am taking 10m of Crestor...my total is 191 My Hdl is 106 My Ldl is 71, and my triglicerides are 70...what do you think?
Avatar f tn The free clinic I go has switched me from Crestor to Lipitor even though my LDL is very high. It's a thorn in my side and won't budge even with Crestor. The cardiologist was even talking about adding another medicine to fight it. When I mentioned this to the clinic they told me every couple of years they switch drugs. So basically they can't afford to care about exceptions.
