Common Questions and Answers about Crestor in the morning

crestor

Avatar n tn I very rarely check my blood sugar levels but when I do it is usually between 110-125 in the morning fasting, and 120-130 2 hrs after eating. Almost 5 months ago my Primary care Doc. put me on Crestor for high cholestoral. 1 month later he was not saticfied with the drop in cholestoral so he put me on a fairley new drug called Trilipix. I take 10mg of lisinopril for high blood pressure, 10 mg of crestor, and 145mg of trilipix.
Avatar n tn I have taken tricor for almost 20 years and I just started having this problem about 6-8 months ago. The pain in the morning makes me feel like I am 100 and my body is betraying me! This is what I noticed that changed. I initially started off on the brand name fenofibrate, Tricor - had no problems. Then they added Crestor(name brand) because that was the only people that made it. A couple years ago, they changed the Tricor to generic, but I was taking name brand Crestor.
Avatar n tn I was on Lipitor, then on Pravachol and lastly on Crestor. None of them had problems loweting the Choesterol levels, but muscle and joint pain even with Vit D and Co Q10 as prescribed my physician. However, I came off crestor yesterday as I started feeling Dizzy. I am normally a "healthy", active energetic person. Now my doc thinks we should try Zetia which is in a different family of drugs. Has anyone experienced difficulties with this? Any thoughts?

Avatar n tn I got some Desenex powder for atheletes foot and used it on my groin area at night and in the morning. It has really helped already and so far I have not had any itching at all. maybe its not the Crestor. I may post an update, if anybody is interested. I am still interested if anybody switched from Crestor to another less exepensive statin. I am looking at the generic form of Provachol. Is there any problem on your sytem, liver or side effects - if you switch from one to the other?
878888 tn?1319634044 Thank you for the response, I was told the metformin xr I am taking does not cause weight gain and might make me able to lose weight, I take it with my evening meal so it does not interfere with my levo in the morning. Could your meds be the not extended release, not familiar with (Diabex) she originially prescribed as glucophage xr. Still exercise and counting carbs along with meds and will see what happens.
Avatar n tn Yes, the prophylactic administration of isoniazid (INH) for a TB chest conversion may cause inflammation of the liver, but does so in a minority of individuals taking the medicine. However, there is also the risk of liver inflammation due to the medicine Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and it is conceivable that there could be an additive effect of Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and INH. In addition, niacin may increase the risk of muscle disease called myopathy when used with Crestor® (rosuvastatin).
Avatar f tn I will go back to the cardiologist and try something else in a few months. Thanks for the reply.
Avatar m tn CAD is manageable with the correct diagnosis. Crestor is the most powerful statin on the market. Angiography with Fractional Flow Reserve does yield the most information. CAD, blockages, and cholesterol can be managed. All of the meds need to be carefully evaluated. As a patient with a very aggressive form of CAD (early onset diagnosed at 28) it can be managed well. You need to keep on your doctors, and you need to be disciplined yourself. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn which one you take in the morning and bedtime?
Avatar m tn Typically, the normal muscle pains will be gone in a day or two. The more severe side effects can last longer. Are you sure the side effects were from the statin as the listed side effects are very common to many conditions. In studies, just as many on the placebo control group reported side effects as the statin control group, about 1 in 2,221. Let us know.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism for almost 20 years and have been on .112mcg of Levothyroxine a day for roughly the past 8 years. Last January, my TSH level was only 0.11 and in October of this year (2008) it was 0.50. My doctor did nothing when my levels were so low in January. In fact, I didn't even know they were that low until this morning when I called and asked.
Avatar n tn Now it varies from 139/86 to 120/85 to errors (when I get nervous the machine in the gym gives odd results). My weight down 5-8 pounds SINCE August (when blood test was done). Another was done yesterday. So, specifically given my Triglyceride, HDL and LDL levels, intake of 4 grams fish oil, lipitor 5mg, aspirin, (1) Is there any reason why one would go to crestor vs. current lipitor. Don't understand why Drs. push it (I think crestor is very aggreesive in marketing).
667829 tn?1297978123 t have a whole lot of faith in my new doctor. the disaster pap appt was almost the final nail in the coffin. she took over my prior dr's practice (had her from age 13 to 37) was trying to give benefit of the doubt. we'll see how she does with the rx q's. the ob said she was thinking about referring me to an internal specialist at women's hospital - vancouver to manage my meds / dosages so i'll see how it goes.
367100 tn?1330914725 This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. This can be due to incompetence of the lower esophageal sphincter, transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxation, impaired expulsion of gastric reflux from the esophagus, or a hiatus hernia. If the reflux reaches the throat, it is called laryngopharyngeal reflux disease. Treatment for this is with tablets called Lanzoprazole.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 1000 mg Niaspan for six years to treat genetically high Lipoprotein(a). Now my physician wants to stop the Niaspan and begin a very small dose of Crestor. His reason is due to a recent study indicating Niaspan as a risk of causing bleeding and/or infection problems. I have already had one bad experience with another statin, Advicor, that resulted in me having permanent lymphedema in my ankles and legs. Now I am unsure about Niaspan.
Avatar f tn t want to HAVE to take another pill each month. However, she is insisting that I begin taking the Crestor each month to lower the cholesterol since it has gone up each year. I can't see that killing me, so I haven't been too worried about it. I am more concerned with the hypothyroidism that I can't get under control mainly because it makes me feel so bad and put on so much weight. 5 years ago I used to be 130 lbs, and now I am fast approaching 190 lbs.
Avatar f tn The free clinic I go has switched me from Crestor to Lipitor even though my LDL is very high. It's a thorn in my side and won't budge even with Crestor. The cardiologist was even talking about adding another medicine to fight it. When I mentioned this to the clinic they told me every couple of years they switch drugs. So basically they can't afford to care about exceptions.
Avatar f tn I just got my results back for my chloresterol levels and wondered if the numbers are good? I am taking 10m of Crestor...my total is 191 My Hdl is 106 My Ldl is 71, and my triglicerides are 70...what do you think?
Avatar n tn Once you start your medication, your physician will check the levels again and can readjust the medication. Crestor has been shown to increase HDL in some patients but not all. Get your lab work retested after starting to see if there needs to be further adjustments made.
Avatar f tn I test for my pregnancy saturday. I took the crestor for 4 days than stopped and its been a little over a week. Should I restart and then stop if pregnant or not bother because of the possibility of there being a fetus? I am just worried about my health.
Avatar f tn I was put on Lipitior and it raised my liver enzymes. Now I am on Crestor and it works great and cholesterol is normal.
