Common Questions and Answers about Crestor hip pain

crestor

Avatar n tn Spinal Stenosis in the lower lumbar area. As well, he had been taken Crestor and diagnosed with Statin myopathy 1 year ago as a result of very high CK levels. He was taken off the Crestor immediately .. put on another drug which is not a statin. One year has passed and he still has high CK levels and very severe and weak legs. He tries to exercise but can't do it for long. Calf muscles jump all the time and are tender. He can't walk around the block.
Avatar n tn I SUFFER with EXTREME fatigue, severe calf muscle pain with a dull, throbbing, aching pain, hip pain, groin pain, severe muscle pains in my arms, upper and lower muscle back pain. I thought this would stop when I stopped the Crestor but it most definitely HAS NOT. I have been off of Crestor for approximately five months. I suffer daily with pain, constipation and stomach issues. I also have a bad memory and horrible concentration. Could all of this be related to my thyroid being too low?
Avatar n tn Could my shortness of breath. weakness and aching be cause by Crestor? I have seen a pulmonary doctor and a cardiologist. They say my heart and lungs are fine.
Avatar n tn I have also had tingling in my fingers and toes. I get tired very easily. I was on Crestor and my husband told me to stop taking it. I am really worried. Can you help?
Avatar n tn After 7 years of therapy taking Crestor and Tricor (fenofibrate), I, too, started experiencing intense pain in my legs, feet, back, and arms. My Dr. took me off Crestor last month but the pain returned within a few days, although not as intense as it was prior to my stopping Crestor. I took myself off fenofibrate just a couple of days ago and "Wow" what a difference! I can actually sleep at night and notice that the pain is dissipating more and more each day.
Avatar f tn My doctor wants me to start taking Crestor. Gave me some sample packs and a prescription. Told me if I had muscle aches to stop taking it and contact him (probably to put me on to another - try this, try that, etc.) Anyway, I hadn't started thaking them yet. This is my first look into finding out what some others taking Crestor have to say. When I asked him regarding the muscle ache he told me it would be full body - not shoulders, back, neck, leg, - it would be everyting.
Avatar n tn My Asthma Dr. said that he would consider changing from Lipitor 5 mg to Crestor (dosage not yet mentioned) after 1 more blood test. 3 years ago another dr. suggested a change, but cardiologist said no need to. Another Dr. (forum) suggested using, in addition to Fish oil for tri-glycerides, niacin. And he said statin users should take CO-enzyme Q 300 mg.
Avatar f tn I have taken Crestor 10 mg for 6 weeks and then my hair started falling out. Anyone experience this? Tests ruled out any other source of problem.
Avatar n tn Long time ago, cardiologist said no need to change when another MD suggested. (I think Crestor has big marketing push). Is there any advantage to Crestor given my figures?
Avatar n tn I was on Lipitor, then on Pravachol and lastly on Crestor. None of them had problems loweting the Choesterol levels, but muscle and joint pain even with Vit D and Co Q10 as prescribed my physician. However, I came off crestor yesterday as I started feeling Dizzy. I am normally a "healthy", active energetic person. Now my doc thinks we should try Zetia which is in a different family of drugs. Has anyone experienced difficulties with this? Any thoughts?
Avatar m tn Weight loss a most common side effects of Topamax. Crestor side effects include nerve pain and nerve damage. Cholesterol is needed for healthy nerve and brain function. Vitamin B12 in methylcobalmin form is recommended to help with nerve regeneration.
Avatar m tn I'm a 51 year old male. I have been experiencing right temple pain since early November. It started as slight sharp pinches, it has now progressed to a dull ache most of the day and night. I have not lost any weight and I had a CT scan done last April for a sinus infection that showed nothing. Anyone have any thoughts. Current meds, linsopril and crestor.
Avatar f tn I am a 55 year old female who also has had blood vessels pop in my hands without any injury. The bruises were preceded by pain that felt let my hand was hit by a hammer. About ten years ago I went to an armload of specialists (vascular, cardiology, rheumatology, orthopedist, internal medicine, emergency medicine) none of whom ever heard of this problem, but pronounced me in otherwise excellent health.
Avatar f tn The first week I had bronchitis. After that cleared, I began having chest pain and shortness of breath. Everyone dismissed my symptoms because I was a young female. I had a hysterectomy in 2009 but they said I still had estrigen to help prevent heart problems. After three weeks of testing (lung vq scan, GERD, and anxiety), a heart cath was done. Cardiologist said I had myocardial bridge (left artery), hypertension, and thick wall.
907968 tn?1292622204 I'm on a 30 day trial offer from Crestor (20mg) to replace my Simvastatin (20mg). I'm sure I know the answer to this question but hearing other opinions would be welcomed... As I understand it, Crestor is a bit stronger than Simvastatn, or should I say, You can take a smaller dose of Crestor to equal Simvatstatin. Other than the equivalent dose change is there any other differences - side effects I should be looking for?
Avatar f tn I was put on Lipitior and it raised my liver enzymes. Now I am on Crestor and it works great and cholesterol is normal.
Avatar m tn The gold standard is coronary angiography. If you are having chest pain, pain on exertion, or discomfort I would discuss that in depth with my doctor. A heart cath does indeed give more information than a CT. CAD, once properly diagnosed is treatable. Crestor (rosuvustatin) is very powerful, and can act as "liquid plumber" IMO.
Avatar f tn I started on crestor, than realized I am ttc and starting not feeling well and am on my ttw...I test for my pregnancy saturday. I took the crestor for 4 days than stopped and its been a little over a week. Should I restart and then stop if pregnant or not bother because of the possibility of there being a fetus? I am just worried about my health.
Avatar n tn I had been taking crestor for many years and where I worked switched insurances. Needless to say the new insurance did not see it fit to pay for Crestor and I was switched to Simvastatin. I used to never think anything of it but I did not have any of these problems prior to taking this new medicine, I cannot get any doctors to confirm this could be the problem so I chose to quit taking it myself. Seems like I do not have any problem when not taking the medicine.
