Common Questions and Answers about Crestor headaches

crestor

Avatar n tn Could my shortness of breath. weakness and aching be cause by Crestor? I have seen a pulmonary doctor and a cardiologist. They say my heart and lungs are fine.
Avatar m tn If there is no recent history of injury or trauma, this could be due to primary headaches such as migraine or tension headaches. Migraine headaches may cause throbbing pain on one side of the head, often beginning around the eye and temple before spreading to the back of the head. While tension headaches present with dull, band like pain. These types of headache usually responds well with rest, medication and avoidance of possible triggers.
Avatar n tn I take Cellcept and only Cellcept. I've been on it now for over a month. My MS doctor prescribed it for my PPMS since there's really no treatment for PPMS. I haven't had any side effects from it. When I first started on it, I did get some headaches but nothing I couldn't handle. In my case, I take it to hopefully slow down the progression of my particular form of this disease. Let me know if I can answer any questions.
Avatar m tn I was getting migraine headaches approx 12-15 times a month for a year and a half. I started taking Bystolic and the headaches are reduced to 2-3 times a month. I am fairly certain, however, that the Bystolic has caused joint and muscle pain especially in my knees. Is anyone else taking Bystolic experiencing this same side effect?
Avatar f tn I have taken Crestor 10 mg for 6 weeks and then my hair started falling out. Anyone experience this? Tests ruled out any other source of problem.
Avatar f tn hi! My Dr put me on Crestor, 40 mg once a day for high cholesterol and coronary plaque buildup..... Today is my 4th day taking it. Ive seen the commercials...and Ive researched online...It seems ok...Ive tolerated Lipitor in the past with absolutly NO side effects. I just noticed today that i seem to be sore...in my shoulder and neck.... as when I would shrug my shoulders...the muscles there seem sore when I do that. Now, maybe I did something...? Sat the wrong way, slept the wrong way...
907968 tn?1292622204 I'm on a 30 day trial offer from Crestor (20mg) to replace my Simvastatin (20mg). I'm sure I know the answer to this question but hearing other opinions would be welcomed... As I understand it, Crestor is a bit stronger than Simvastatn, or should I say, You can take a smaller dose of Crestor to equal Simvatstatin. Other than the equivalent dose change is there any other differences - side effects I should be looking for?
Avatar n tn My Asthma Dr. said that he would consider changing from Lipitor 5 mg to Crestor (dosage not yet mentioned) after 1 more blood test. 3 years ago another dr. suggested a change, but cardiologist said no need to. Another Dr. (forum) suggested using, in addition to Fish oil for tri-glycerides, niacin. And he said statin users should take CO-enzyme Q 300 mg.
Avatar n tn After 7 years of therapy taking Crestor and Tricor (fenofibrate), I, too, started experiencing intense pain in my legs, feet, back, and arms. My Dr. took me off Crestor last month but the pain returned within a few days, although not as intense as it was prior to my stopping Crestor. I took myself off fenofibrate just a couple of days ago and "Wow" what a difference! I can actually sleep at night and notice that the pain is dissipating more and more each day.
Avatar f tn I was put on Lipitior and it raised my liver enzymes. Now I am on Crestor and it works great and cholesterol is normal.
Avatar f tn I started on crestor, than realized I am ttc and starting not feeling well and am on my ttw...I test for my pregnancy saturday. I took the crestor for 4 days than stopped and its been a little over a week. Should I restart and then stop if pregnant or not bother because of the possibility of there being a fetus? I am just worried about my health.
Avatar n tn I had been taking crestor for many years and where I worked switched insurances. Needless to say the new insurance did not see it fit to pay for Crestor and I was switched to Simvastatin. I used to never think anything of it but I did not have any of these problems prior to taking this new medicine, I cannot get any doctors to confirm this could be the problem so I chose to quit taking it myself. Seems like I do not have any problem when not taking the medicine.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 1000 mg Niaspan for six years to treat genetically high Lipoprotein(a). Now my physician wants to stop the Niaspan and begin a very small dose of Crestor. His reason is due to a recent study indicating Niaspan as a risk of causing bleeding and/or infection problems. I have already had one bad experience with another statin, Advicor, that resulted in me having permanent lymphedema in my ankles and legs. Now I am unsure about Niaspan.
Avatar n tn I did some research on crestor after I posted my first question and saw that there have been lots of issues with Crestor raising blood sugars in type 2 diabetics. The Crestor site even says that this can happen. If you google Crestor raising blood sugars there are many websites that come up. I am not disputing the fact that diabetes is progressive, but it is just so odd that days after starting these meds my blood sugars started getting out of wack.
Avatar f tn cholesterol 233 and LDL 166. They are putting me on Crestor for cholesterol. My concern is the thyroid levels. I just get so tired and put on so much weight when the levels are off. Anyone have any suggestions?
Avatar f tn t think we can afford it because it is $305 for a month supply! I am already on Crestor, so I thought Crestor and maybe baby aspirin would be enough. Besides Aggrenox has aspirin in it.
Avatar f tn I just got my results back for my chloresterol levels and wondered if the numbers are good? I am taking 10m of Crestor...my total is 191 My Hdl is 106 My Ldl is 71, and my triglicerides are 70...what do you think?
Avatar f tn The free clinic I go has switched me from Crestor to Lipitor even though my LDL is very high. It's a thorn in my side and won't budge even with Crestor. The cardiologist was even talking about adding another medicine to fight it. When I mentioned this to the clinic they told me every couple of years they switch drugs. So basically they can't afford to care about exceptions.
Avatar f tn I have to assume you are on statins (cholesterol lowering medication). Statin drugs are often associated with side-effects including nausea, headaches, dizziness, sleep disturbances, sexual dysfunction, fatigue, shortness of breath, memory loss, liver problems, muscle weakness, muscle pain, peripheral neuropathy and cardiomyopathy due to a depletion of Coenzyme Q10. If you aren't taking CoQ10, start immediately.
Avatar n tn Hi can you help,. When my feet are cold everything goes well with my feet. As soon as my feet get hot my foot pad's at the toes get extremely hot and this is mainly at night. I am a smoker and I am on chronic Meds for Cholesterol, Arthritis & Sinus. The meds that I use is Crestor 20mg,Crestor 20mg, Coxflam 15mg, Actifed, Caltrate and Estrofem 1mg.
Avatar n tn My understanding is that the statins with the greatest LDL reducing effect are Crestor, Lipitor, Zocor, and Pravachol, in that order. I don’t mention Leschol and Mevacor since they appear to be rarely used since recently due to the aforementioned being more powerful. Do we have any available solid data on the effects of the various individual statins other than LDL reduction? For example, do we know which ones raise HDL the most? What about effects on particle size or Lp(a), etc.
Avatar n tn Long time ago, cardiologist said no need to change when another MD suggested. (I think Crestor has big marketing push). Is there any advantage to Crestor given my figures?
Avatar n tn I was on Crestor for a couple of years, and last year I started getting PVC's. I was taken off Crestor because my liver function started showing up with issues, and my cholesterol was VERY low on it. I was only on it because I am diabetic, and they want much lower cholesterol than normal. Regardless, since I have been off the Crestor, my PVC's are now gone. Not reduced, but gone. They slowly tapered away as the Crestor left my system.
