Avatar f tn Those are very good numbers, I would be very happy with these results. I hope you are adding lifestyle changes like diet and exercise if approved to your Crestor, it is an amazing drug but you need to do your share as well. In any case, these are very good numbers. Congrats!
Avatar m tn 75, Crestor 10 alternate days. But how about that 183/99? (in 15 mins it was down to 122/71 p77. A Holter two months ago showed PSVT. Am I asking for trouble trying to be an athlete??
Avatar n tn I did some research on crestor after I posted my first question and saw that there have been lots of issues with Crestor raising blood sugars in type 2 diabetics. The Crestor site even says that this can happen. If you google Crestor raising blood sugars there are many websites that come up. I am not disputing the fact that diabetes is progressive, but it is just so odd that days after starting these meds my blood sugars started getting out of wack.
Avatar n tn Muscle ache often happens because with statins patients indulge in rigorous exercise. The exercise level should be raised slowly over a period of time. Some times dose adjustment helps. Starting at a very low dose and slowly building it up. The level of creatine phosphokinase enzyme should be checked. If this is raised then there is muscle injury and the drugs should b stopped. If CPK is normal, then the dose and exercise adjustment should help.
Avatar f tn You should not take red rice yeast with Crestor. Some natural ways to treat high blood pressure are to increase aerobic exercise, limit salt intake to 2,400 mg, trying to eat at least 3,500 mg of potassium a day, from foods such as yogurt, cantaloupe, spinach, and bananas, limit alcohol consumption, and even trying some forms of meditation. Some supplements that may help with blood sugar are GTF chromium, magnesium, Alpha-lipoic acid, and Coenzyme Q10.

My question: When I exercise on Elliptical machine on cardio setting , my pulse rate never goes above 110 . is this something to do with beta-blocker ?
Avatar f tn Hello I have been taking generic Crestor for about two years. It has dropped my LDL to 39-45 range and blood glucose ranges from 105-111 fasting. A1c 5.1 - 5.3. Prior to the statin I was below 100. I am not overweight, exercise consistently and eat very healthy. So the statin is the culprit. I am wondering if being stricter on carb intake and supplementing with Berberine will help? Or has anyone had better outcomes with other statins like livalo or pravastatin?
Avatar m tn He asked me to keep monitoring my blood pressure for a week. I did and the average was around 145/95. He asked me to take Concor 2.5 and Crestor 2mg. I am taking these medicaiton for around a week now and my blood pressure is 135/85. My question is, can I stop the medicaiton if my blood pressure is normal again, or I will be on medication for the rest of my life ?

Despite that I am also takin crestor tab of 10mg at first and was increase to 20mg. My cholestrerol level quite high at 6.7. However after taking crestor 10mg for 2 weeks, it reduce to 4.7x but my doctor stil increase the dose as he said he wanted to reduce it more. Any advise.
Avatar n tn Could my shortness of breath. weakness and aching be cause by Crestor? I have seen a pulmonary doctor and a cardiologist. They say my heart and lungs are fine.
Avatar n tn Generally, if you experience muscle weakness as a side effect of Lipitor (atorvastatin), other statins will produce similar effects, so that eliminates the use of Zocor (simvastatin), Crestor (rosuvastatin) etc. After statin therapy fails or is not tolerated, it is normal to try ezetimibe (Zetia), which you said did not work. The use of colesevelam (WelChol) is not high, and is often the 'last ditch effort' to lower cholesterol.

Avatar n tn Spinal Stenosis in the lower lumbar area. As well, he had been taken Crestor and diagnosed with Statin myopathy 1 year ago as a result of very high CK levels. He was taken off the Crestor immediately .. put on another drug which is not a statin. One year has passed and he still has high CK levels and very severe and weak legs. He tries to exercise but can't do it for long. Calf muscles jump all the time and are tender. He can't walk around the block.
Avatar f tn Okay, I'm an active 45 year old female, normal weight, eat well and exercise (I'm actually a Personal Trainer), but have a major family history of heart disease. My sister had a triple bypass at the age of 33, an Aunt passed away at 45 and grandfather at 36 of a sudden cardiac event. Anyway, my cardiologist wants to put me on a statin, Crestor, to lower my LDL. My total cholesterol is 189, LDL is 118 and HDL is over 60. The reason for the statin is I have a Lpa level of 69.
Avatar f tn I have thyroid hashi's antibodies which rose greatly but no change in diet or exercise. I don't exercise, never have and it all stayed stable until now. HDL did raise ever so slightly. No diabetes. Did try Crestor after these results, had liver symptoms within a week so stopped.
Avatar n tn I am diabetic since 6 years, two years back i discovered that my Lipo is high( cholestrol 290, LDL and HDL),i start taking Crestor and after that i discovered that my CPK level is 600. i stoped it for two months and went down to 450 , due being Hypolipid i couldn't control cholestrol by exercise or food so i changed three doctors and each gave me a different Statins and the CPK now reaches 1375 . , i tried Ezytrol for a while but it's effect was very low .
Avatar n tn I take Tricor for the triglycerides and 20mg of Crestor daily. I also exercise 5 days a week for 1/2 hour - 1 hour and medidate to keep my stress levels down. Don't panic, but be preemptive in the approach to your husbands heart health. Get a check of his calcification, but also demand a nuclear stress test. You can have low calcification and still have diffuse or even single spot "soft plaque".
Avatar n tn tall, non-smoker, and have never weighed more than 130 lbs. I eat healthily and exercise regularly. For the past 3 years, my cholesterol readings have been - Total: 213, HDL: 90, LDL: 119, Total to High ratio: 2. My physician wants to prescribe a cholesterol lowering medication. I have been resistant to taking medication since the HDL and Total Ratio are so good.
315318 tn?1353251800 Recently , I was prescribed a fenofibrate (Trilipix 135 mg) along with Crestor. My cardio wanted this for helping in getting my triglycerides down. I have not had a lipid profile done since starting on this med two months ago. However, since being a diabetic , I check my blood glucose (BG) many times during the day and what I am noticing is a clear trend in the BG numbers going lower at least over the last month or so.
Avatar m tn My GP has immediately put me on a daily low dose asprin and 20mg Crestor and has requested I have a Mycocardial Perfusion Scan and intends for me to see a cardiologist who he says may do an angiogram and possible stent. I am male, almost 60, 5'11, 92kgs and have a good diet (losts of fruit and veges with little deep fried) although I do not exercise as much as I should.
