Has anyone gotten worsening of their PVC's from taking a statin drug? I seem to be intolerant of these drugs and have tried Crestor, Lipitor and Lescol. My PVC's go absolutely nuts when I take them. I have done my own tests by going off and on them. I consistently get worse when I'm on them. I take C0Q10 and a whole bunch of supplements including magnesium to no avail. Any feedback would be appreciated.
After 7 years of therapy taking Crestor and Tricor (fenofibrate), I, too, started experiencing intense pain in my legs, feet, back, and arms. My Dr. took me off Crestor last month but the pain returned within a few days, although not as intense as it was prior to my stopping Crestor. I took myself off fenofibrate just a couple of days ago and "Wow" what a difference! I can actually sleep at night and notice that the pain is dissipating more and more each day.

He was tested for Hep A, B and C and he did not have any of those. Anyway just a thought.. I take Crestor and my AST was a little over 50 and ALT was almost 50 and doctor also told me to cut back on my RX meds and Aspirin and Tylenol type drugs. I will get rechecked in 6 months. I have been feeling awful lately, depressed, weight gain, inability to lose weight, and not sleeping well. She ordered a book work-up on me and they called me this morning with the results. I have been out of my synthroid for about 1.5 weeks so when I did the work up I was taking my synthroid.
The office told me that my cholesterol levels were fine, blood sugar was fine, thyroid levels were fine, but that my CRP levels were really elevated at 14.6.
But my best lipid results ( raising HDL, lowering LDL and Lp(a) ) came from taking RX Niacin which I take with the 10 mg Crestor and 325 mg aspirin at bedtime.No problems with Niacin either.I take RX fish oil also as I am in big time prevention mode due to cardiac microvascular dysfunction.Fortunately my lipids have never been bad and my larger coronaries are clear but the lipids are only a piece of the total cardiac picture and the possible side effects of meds far outweigh my other risks.
I was also diagnosed with migraines around this time..I quit the Crestor and was on Lipitor for about a month.That also gave me body pain. I then mysteriously dropped another 7 pounds and since then have spiralled pounds at a time from 138 pounds to 92 pounds and unable to get back any weight.. I eat as much as can .I went to a specialist and he said there was a maldigestion,. malabsorption problem. Also have acquired rhuematiod arthritis and joints look deformed around knees..
I just had a serious adverse reaction to Crestor, which I recently started taking and the bruises started again, for the first time on the instep of my foot, which is taking longer to resolve. I was recently identified as having a high iron level and slightly elevated red blood cell count. I am worried that I will wind up with a lung aneurism, heart attack or stroke at some point if the vessel that decides to pop is located in my lung, brain or heart.
I started on crestor, than realized I am ttc and starting not feeling well and am on my ttw...I test for my pregnancy saturday. I took the crestor for 4 days than stopped and its been a little over a week. Should I restart and then stop if pregnant or not bother because of the possibility of there being a fetus?
I am just worried about my health.
The weakness and aching are signs of rhabdomyalgia which is a side affect of statin drugs. You need to see the doctor that prescribed the meds as he/she needs to check you. I don't know about the shortness of breath. It could be a drug reaction too.
I faxed him the results to this lab work and he wanted to recheck it in 4 weeks as he felt it might be viral. I am on Crestor, Linsoprosil, Omneprozole and Testosterone Inj for low testosterone syndrome. I have been under stress from quitting chewing and was not feeling well about a week before this blood test and gave myself a testosterone injection about 3-5 days before blood work.
He asked me to keep monitoring my blood pressure for a week. I did and the average was around 145/95. He asked me to take Concor 2.5 and Crestor 2mg. I am taking these medicaiton for around a week now and my blood pressure is 135/85.
My question is, can I stop the medicaiton if my blood pressure is normal again, or I will be on medication for the rest of my life ?
I red the article. I can see now that taking Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Selenium for a long time was a mistake.
Perhaps this is why my PCR jumped from 1.000.000 to 17.000.000 in 3 months.
On 15 of January I'm going to begin the second treatment with Interferon, Rib.and Boceprevir. (the first time I was on placebo) It will be good if I could begin the treatment with a lower viral load. If the virus is still detectable,after 4 months of treatment, I will be taken off the treatment.
This is really a question for your doctor, as they should be the only one making medication recommendations for you, but as far as vitamin C and pregnancy, it should be safe, I'd check with your doctor especially if you are on any other meds that could be effected by the excess vitamin C before you start any.
