crestor

Avatar f tn I was also diagnosed with migraines around this time..I quit the Crestor and was on Lipitor for about a month. That also gave me body pain. I then mysteriously dropped another 7 pounds and since then have spiralled pounds at a time from 138 pounds to 92 pounds and unable to get back any weight.. I eat as much as can .I went to a specialist and he said there was a maldigestion,. malabsorption problem. Also have acquired rhuematiod arthritis and joints look deformed around knees..
Avatar m tn I have been taking 1000 mg Niaspan for six years to treat genetically high Lipoprotein(a). Now my physician wants to stop the Niaspan and begin a very small dose of Crestor. His reason is due to a recent study indicating Niaspan as a risk of causing bleeding and/or infection problems. I have already had one bad experience with another statin, Advicor, that resulted in me having permanent lymphedema in my ankles and legs. Now I am unsure about Niaspan.
Avatar n tn After 7 years of therapy taking Crestor and Tricor (fenofibrate), I, too, started experiencing intense pain in my legs, feet, back, and arms. My Dr. took me off Crestor last month but the pain returned within a few days, although not as intense as it was prior to my stopping Crestor. I took myself off fenofibrate just a couple of days ago and "Wow" what a difference! I can actually sleep at night and notice that the pain is dissipating more and more each day.
Avatar f tn my doc took me off simvastatin and changed me to the lowest dose of crestor 5 mg.
Avatar n tn I am diabetic since 6 years, two years back i discovered that my Lipo is high( cholestrol 290, LDL and HDL),i start taking Crestor and after that i discovered that my CPK level is 600. i stoped it for two months and went down to 450 , due being Hypolipid i couldn't control cholestrol by exercise or food so i changed three doctors and each gave me a different Statins and the CPK now reaches 1375 . , i tried Ezytrol for a while but it's effect was very low .
Avatar m tn My GP has immediately put me on a daily low dose asprin and 20mg Crestor and has requested I have a Mycocardial Perfusion Scan and intends for me to see a cardiologist who he says may do an angiogram and possible stent. I am male, almost 60, 5'11, 92kgs and have a good diet (losts of fruit and veges with little deep fried) although I do not exercise as much as I should.
10996785 tn?1432812977 Like you, I pulled myself off of Lipitor (atorvastatin) because of muscle and joint weakness/pain and other recorded side effect. I had only taken it for about five weeks and the discomfort remains three weeks later. I had the same reaction to simvastatin, which I am told is the worst of the bunch. I'm waiting a few months and then I will try something with a less violent track record.
Avatar f tn Aside from kidney issues, other differentials include urinary tract infection and musculoskeletal conditions. Direct clinical examination and diagnostics such as blood and urine tests and imaging tests like ultrasound will help determine the underlying cause. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I started on simvastatins 40 mg every night about 5 months ago. I suffered the same pains and spoke to my cardilolgist. He checked my cholesterol again and found that my good cholesterol level had fallen below the base figure. He changed me from simvastatin to Crestor Rouvastain 10mg each night, and they don't give me any side effects and my good cholesterol has started to rise again. The one thing I have learnt is to take them before i go to sleep at night.
Avatar f tn We moved a year ago to a much colder climate (hence the self diagnosis of raynauds) and took my sweet time finding a new doctor. I ran out of my prescription and have been off of it for at least 5 months (including crestor). I finally had blood work done last week and much to my suprise and confusion my labs were "normal" UUUUGH!!! I started doing some more reading about hypothyroidism and I am sooooo confused. If I am normal why do I still have all the symptoms.
Avatar m tn You have been on it for only a month and at a very low dosage at that. E.g. I developed Rhabdomyolysis after five months on Crestor and even tore a ligament in my back without any exertion, but prior to that I had already been on Statins for ten years.
Avatar f tn I started on crestor, than realized I am ttc and starting not feeling well and am on my ttw...I test for my pregnancy saturday. I took the crestor for 4 days than stopped and its been a little over a week. Should I restart and then stop if pregnant or not bother because of the possibility of there being a fetus? I am just worried about my health.
Avatar n tn The weakness and aching are signs of rhabdomyalgia which is a side affect of statin drugs. You need to see the doctor that prescribed the meds as he/she needs to check you. I don't know about the shortness of breath. It could be a drug reaction too.
Avatar f tn I was put on Lipitior and it raised my liver enzymes. Now I am on Crestor and it works great and cholesterol is normal.
Avatar n tn Has anyone gotten worsening of their PVC's from taking a statin drug? I seem to be intolerant of these drugs and have tried Crestor, Lipitor and Lescol. My PVC's go absolutely nuts when I take them. I have done my own tests by going off and on them. I consistently get worse when I'm on them. I take C0Q10 and a whole bunch of supplements including magnesium to no avail. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Dark urine can also accompany rhabdomyolysis. From what I see on line, creatinine kinase is what your doctor should have tested and if it is elevated, the drug should be discontinued.
1798872 tn?1346164585 In the ER they ran blood work, ekg and urine sample, the doc leaned over my bed and said you had a heart attack.I went to a room and was released 2 days later and told to follow up with my pcp.I truely beleive i was released early because of my ins.. Thank you for your time.
200220 tn?1361951554 It was a holistic MD that told me to take the 5mg of Crestor and I trusted him that it was ok. I am going to a new doctor the end of the month and he is a internist, so maybe he will give me some advice along with helping me with my thyroid symptoms. Thanks for the comment.
Avatar f tn The muscle weakness you were experiencing definitely seems like it was caused by the Vytorin due to the weakness/fatigue resolving after stopping the Vytorin. ALS and Rhabdomyolysis are two completely different disease states but can be mistaken for one another due to the similar presentation of symptoms of muscle fatigue and weakness.
Avatar n tn i woke up yesterday and both my calves were bruised.there was no reason for it.i had high blood pressure and was given lysinopril after 3 months the pressure was normal again so i stopped the medication. Avatar f tn Had been on Augmentin for a sinus infection, just finishing up the script, and take Crestor, Nexium, and Zyrtec on a regular basis. Symptoms started a few days after starting generic Zyrtec, which also caused unbelievable dryness that felt like I was dehydrated (no vomiting, though). A day after the chills, I noticed my urine was dark and my stools were very light, almost gray, and I started getting very itchy but no rash.
Avatar n tn However, there is also the risk of liver inflammation due to the medicine Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and it is conceivable that there could be an additive effect of Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and INH. In addition, niacin may increase the risk of muscle disease called myopathy when used with Crestor® (rosuvastatin). Crestor® (rosuvastatin) significantly increases the INR (enhances the effect of Coumadin to make your blood “thinner” than it would be alone.
