Cardiologist said I had myocardial bridge (left artery), hypertension, and thick wall. I was put on beta blockers and have nitro for when the severe pain comes back. This happened 5 days ago.
I'm still having sharp chest pains. I can't walk at a normal pace or stand for long periods of time without my left arm tingling.
I called the RN for the cardiologist and she told me to take aspirin every 6 hrs to help with the pain. This isn't helping.
Ive had hypertension since 21 and just recently an ekg showed mild LVH and an echo showed mild LVH but the nephrologist said it was harder to see than on the EKG.
1. Can I still play soccer with my LVH?
2. Will this lower my life expectancy?
3. Can this explain my erectile dysfunction?

After 7 years of therapy taking Crestor and Tricor (fenofibrate), I, too, started experiencing intense pain in my legs, feet, back, and arms. My Dr. took me off Crestor last month but the pain returned within a few days, although not as intense as it was prior to my stopping Crestor. I took myself off fenofibrate just a couple of days ago and "Wow" what a difference! I can actually sleep at night and notice that the pain is dissipating more and more each day.
If there is any relationship beyond coincidence, perhaps it is that medications like diuretics to treat hypertension and heart disease can cause dehydration and electrolyte disturbances which can predispose one to night time cramps. Additionally, muscle aches are known side affects of some cholesterol medications like lipitor and crestor. Its a very astute observation on your part.
I started on crestor, than realized I am ttc and starting not feeling well and am on my ttw...I test for my pregnancy saturday. I took the crestor for 4 days than stopped and its been a little over a week. Should I restart and then stop if pregnant or not bother because of the possibility of there being a fetus?
I am just worried about my health.
The weakness and aching are signs of rhabdomyalgia which is a side affect of statin drugs. You need to see the doctor that prescribed the meds as he/she needs to check you. I don't know about the shortness of breath. It could be a drug reaction too.
Has anyone gotten worsening of their PVC's from taking a statin drug? I seem to be intolerant of these drugs and have tried Crestor, Lipitor and Lescol. My PVC's go absolutely nuts when I take them. I have done my own tests by going off and on them. I consistently get worse when I'm on them. I take C0Q10 and a whole bunch of supplements including magnesium to no avail. Any feedback would be appreciated.
s with elevated cholesterol, high triglycerides, slight hypertension and pre-diabetic. I do take crestor, tricor, and metformin to control those and they are now normal. I take Lisonopril for BP. A few days ago, I woke up from sleep with my heart racing, slight angina and feeling a bit dizzy. Went to the ER where they did a EKG, and echo and chest x-ray. None of them indicated any blockage. However, my HR didn't go down even when I was lying down and on IV fluids.
I also take glimperide, enalapril for hypertension and Crestor for high cholesterol.Although I have great trust in my Family Doctor, I am making an appointment with an Endocinologist to get advice on my medications, but that is not for 5 weeks. I would like to know your opinion on how to take Metformin, although I realize ultimately I need to follow my Doctor's advise.
Within the first 6 months I started to have palps and my legs continued to get weaker and I got slower and slower. I quit the Lipitor and the Dr. now put me on Crestor and the palps are severe. I get very little sleep they are so severe and I have to get up and walk around. Now all kinds of heart tests! These station in just my opinion cause a much issues as they solve. Getting desperate as well for answers.
Had been on Augmentin for a sinus infection, just finishing up the script, and take Crestor, Nexium, and Zyrtec on a regular basis. Symptoms started a few days after starting generic Zyrtec, which also caused unbelievable dryness that felt like I was dehydrated (no vomiting, though). A day after the chills, I noticed my urine was dark and my stools were very light, almost gray, and I started getting very itchy but no rash.
There is an alternative to Lipitor (known to cause constipation) and the medication is called Crestor (tosuvastin) which is a little easier on the stomach and bowels.
Never take Synthroid at the same time as other meds or you will get some side effects as it really is supposed to be given an hour before food, other meds etc and up to 4 hours before any vitamins.
It sounds like you need your Synthroid meds adjusted which means it is wise to get a thyroid function test again.
However, there is also the risk of liver inflammation due to the medicine Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and it is conceivable that there could be an additive effect of Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and INH. In addition, niacin may increase the risk of muscle disease called myopathy when used with Crestor® (rosuvastatin). Crestor® (rosuvastatin) significantly increases the INR (enhances the effect of Coumadin to make your blood “thinner” than it would be alone.
But my best lipid results ( raising HDL, lowering LDL and Lp(a) ) came from taking RX Niacin which I take with the 10 mg Crestor and 325 mg aspirin at bedtime.No problems with Niacin either.I take RX fish oil also as I am in big time prevention mode due to cardiac microvascular dysfunction.Fortunately my lipids have never been bad and my larger coronaries are clear but the lipids are only a piece of the total cardiac picture and the possible side effects of meds far outweigh my other risks.

Hello I have been taking generic Crestor for about two years. It has dropped my LDL to 39-45 range and blood glucose ranges from 105-111 fasting. A1c 5.1 - 5.3. Prior to the statin I was below 100. I am not overweight, exercise consistently and eat very healthy. So the statin is the culprit. I am wondering if being stricter on carb intake and supplementing with Berberine will help? Or has anyone had better outcomes with other statins like livalo or pravastatin?
In January (when this latest blood work came in) it showed that my cholesterol was a bit elevated, so my doctor put me on Crestor. I took for only two months and started having severe muscle pain in my legs and arms. I stopped taking it immediately. I might also add that I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis about three years ago. I was also diagnosed with IBS-Constipation prevalent roughly four years ago.
1) In studies comparing equal doses of Crestor to Lipitor, Crestor has been shown to lower LDL levels ~10% and increase HDL levels 2-4% more than Lipitor. Your triglyerides, total cholesterol, and LDL's are in the optimal range, and your HDL level is in the middle. Based on these numbers, there doesn't seem to be a need to switch to Crestor.
2) There is little evidence on the use of EPA alone.
