I been having coughing, chest congestion, nasal congestion and coughing up nasty stuff (mucus) ewww. What can I take or what can I do to fight this bug? Because I feel hopeless.
Hi all! I'm currently 6 weeks 5 days and oh man... The pleasure of morning sickness! Other than the nausea and vomiting, I'm also coughing a lot and the phlegm is making my chest and nose super congested. I've read that you'll have more mucus build up during pregnancy, so is it normal to feel this congested during the first trimester? Any advise on how to make the congestion better?

I have this tightness in my chest i kno its mucus but i dont have a cough or cold it hurts when i try to take a deep breath ive never had chest congestion before im not coughing up blood or anything like that. ive been using my asthma pump because when i was younger i had trouble with asthma it helps clearing my airways so i can breath easier but it comes back after awhile. Help?
I am coughing up mucus, although it is all clear (and has been throughout the entire cold). It just concerns me that the cough is hanging around for so long. The cough has been with me for about a week and a half. Other than being a little worn out from not feeling my best, I have been able to go to work and perform my job normally. Thoughts?
A couple of days ago, I contract something outside and the next day, I began having serious chills, stuffy nose, chest feeling stuffy, etc. Then the next day, it got worse (and yes, I took medicine for flu/cold) with coughing up (I'm presuming) some bloody mucus several times (it's more like a rust color), dry coughing mostly, severe chest congestion (Robatusson {sp?} doesn't work), and severe congestion in my nose.
Thank you for your quick response. I know it's not bacterial because I'm not coughing up a lot d green mucus or have that drowning feeling in my lungs. I think it's just my Annual Bronchitis kicking in it has always started during late fall early winter. But I am going to be setting a doctor appointment so I can get more of those Tessalon pearls.
If it's COPD then why arent any breathing treatments, inhalers, antibiotics helping at all? My dad can't do anything without coughing so hard that he almost passes out. He's tried everything Drs have given him and not even a breathing treatment or inhaler even helps him. Drs say they're puzzled. What could it be?
I had a slight cough at first which went away but the congestion is still there. I am not coughing so I have to push it out by deep throat clearing. The mucus coming from chest is a creamy pale green. I also have constant mucus in my throat also of a creamy consistency but not as green and sometimes clear to whitish. I believe both of my lymph nodes in my neck are swollen and hurt. Ears are bothersome also.
After eating certain foods I get quite a bit of mucus build-up in my lungs and find myself coughing a lot after meals. I'm 17 years old and don't think this is due to acid reflux as I don't have any other symptoms and am quite young. About two weeks ago I suffered from a head cold with blowing out green mucus, coughing up mucus, and etc etc. This past weekend the symptoms improved drastically but for the past couple of days I still have slight congestion with clear mucus and I'm constantly clearing my throat? I have recently started on ibuprophen and it helps a little. I do not feel like I have congestion. I can breathe freely but notice a little mucous in throat. I am not someone that goes to the doctor but I just want to make sure maybe the pain was from coughing to much.

Delsym is the strongest over the counter cough medicine that you can get. Tastes terrible but it works! Is there any congestion and if so where (chest,face). There are 3 different types of Mucinex, maybe it wasn't the one you needed.
been coughing for a couple of weeks little bit of fever very tired went to a walk in clinic a couple of days ago and the Doctor said it was mostly allergies gave me antibotics,congestion,cough syurp,nasal spray....this morning when I woke up I was coughing up blood in my phlegm the first 3 times then it cleared up....
s not as bad but I can feel the congestion in my chest. The mucus color is now clear which I think is a good sign. I also have seasonal alergies which I think does not help either. At what point should I start to be concerned? Thanks in advance!
I advise to consult with a doctor for testing to find cause, I know when I have chest congestion or post nasal drip, I'm always clearing tons of clear mucus from my system, feel like I'm drowning in mucus sometimes. But get checked out by a doctor, for proper diagnoses and treatments.
I am new at this. Have had coughing and feeling like my throat has a clot of mucus that I cannot swallow or spit up for a couple of years. Drs thought allergies. I had uterine cancer and chemo later and then most problems thought to be chemo related. I was a very healthy active 70 year old then that’s when it all started. Now and then I would gag and it would come up. Now very short of breath and no energy at all. Also still coughing and voice going. Very hoarse and could hardly talk.
Second day I started to get a sore throat and started coughing really hard with a lot of dark green mucus coming out of my coughs. My nose usually stayed runny all day but usually at night when I'd go to sleep it wouldn't run. But I started coughing and sometimes there's blood in the mucus when I cough up, little amounts in the mucus. My temperature was 99.8, but recently around after day 5 my soar throat went away.
A humidifier can really help at night. It keeps the mucus flowing so that you don't get sinus congestion or pain. Drink lots of water. I swear by saline nasal rinses (like neti pot) to rinse out the nasal cavities. It's gross but works well. The salt dries it up quicker. Get good sleep. Ask your doctor about any safe medications. Lemon honey water will help with the sore throat. Good luck! Being sick and pregnant is the worst!
