i can taste infection when i swallow and i keep coughing up mucus that has blood in it, what does blood in my mucus mean?

Barbara533 Have you tried an antihistamine? rushtyyyyy green and yellow flem should not be coming up from allergy unless it is stomach acid. Usually allergy is clear mucus. I'm not a doctor but I wonder if it is a bacteria infection. Sorry I don't know the correct answer. Maybe the doctors are correct too. I just personally haven't heard of colored mucus from allergy. Allergy can cause mucus that can lead to bacteria infection too. See another doctor.

recently i had fever(3days ago),i had headaches,loss of appetite,tonsillitis and mucus formation.i am healthy now but now my mucus is not yellow it is somewhat red in color.a blackish red blood is to be seen.Also i am having problem when i take deep breath i get a momentary pain in my lungs.Am i dying?

I let mine go way too long and it turned out to be pneumonia. As my doctor sayed, "you're one sick puppy". I'm in so much pain now and keep telling people to get IN to the doctor. I was waiting to have my insurance start and so I had something of an excuse yet now I'm homebound and if I don't rest I'll end up in the hospital. Don't let it get like this and especially not if you're pregnant.

I rested for 2 more weeks after finishing the antibiotics but was still coughing yellow mucus and feeling tired with moderate/mild activity. m hacking up strings of blood. Sometimes its blood strings, and others are just yellow or clear mucus. But its not like I cough up really bad and blood comes out. The cough is stronger before I sleep through when I wake up or when it wakes me up (when it is the worst). when i blew my nose a little blood came out so i think it irritated it a bit. my phlem is now white instead of yellow .....im still coughing really bad . i think it bronchitis. how so i get rid of that? and im getting a little worried about the whole sinus infection. if its yellow in the morning but clear durring the day is that a good sign? and will it clear up on its own? i havent had any medicine. as far as my son go's , his mucus is clear, hes coughing alot too though.

As my vitamin D levels are still low (and i forget sometimes to take my supplements lol) i am reminded when i have to keep clearing my throat due to excess mucus. Ugh! The mucus is gone within days of supplementing with vitamin D thankfully.

I have been getting over a recent bout of bronchitis where I was prescribed Augmentin (I am on Day 6) and Prednisone short burst (finished 2 days ago) I am still coughing quite bad but the fever has broke... but as of yesterday the phlegm/mucus I am coughing up tastes extremely salty. Your Doctor would likely take a Sputum culture to obtain a diagnosis but it does sound like Bronchitis, especially the yellow/brown mucus your coughing up,please go to the Doctor and have this checked as it's not wise to leave things like this untreated regardless of what it is ..... And yes Bronchitis it is curable but you need to get some Medication in place fairly quickly to avoid any complications,never take chances where your lungs and chest are concerned go to your Doctor soon .....

I have been coughing up yellow and green mucus. I have a soar throat and I have lost my voice, it is very hoarse to the point that I can barely talk. I am sneezing and blowing out mucus and sometimes it is difficult to bring up and causes me to gag. I have trouble sleeping as well.
