I have a 2 yr old boxer, I have had him for a week. He was eating and drinking up till yesterday. He won't eat or drink, I did get him to drink a little milk watered down. I have been using an eye dropper to get gatoraide down him. I don't have the money to take him to a vet right now. I was wondering if someone might know what is wrong and what else I could try. Thank you so much!
My tiny four pound Maltese/Poodle cross has been coughing and I was wondering if someone has any ideas. He is about 8 1/2 and has had issues with his behavoir. He won't let us have him groomed without him trying to bite us or get his nails trimmed, so every four months or so we have to have him knocked out to have this done. I wasn't sure if this was some of his problem from the stuff they give him or what, but he does it alot especially at night.
Hi i have a 4 year old white boxer and he is always crying/whining me and my family will get up to give him water,food, to let him outside or to play with him and he will sit there and cry. This dog is never left alone as there is always someone in our house and if nobody is here human wise we have his dad with him. He also crys when he sleeps. He is a very healthy dog always eating and running outside in our yard.
The dog certainly wasn't buried as deep as deep as we would have liked, but our ground is limerock so we can only get so deep... My husband put a slab of drywall (left over from a remodeling project) over it with cement blocks on that, but the boxer dug through the drywall.
My question is.. Do I really need to try to get my boxer to an emergency vet? I don't know if this is something that will poison him or just make him sick for a little while.
My 2 year old boxer, has recently started to get welts all over her body. I don't use pesticides , nor do I use any harmful chemicals around her. Does anybody know what might be causing it?
After a very active weekend for my 1 1/2 year old boxer, I noticed that he woke up the next morning limping and refused to go out for his morning walk. He didnt want to put any presure on his paw at all. I checked his leg and shoulder blades and nothing seemed to hurt him until I got to his paw. His one nail on his right paw was all black. I took him to the vet and they confirmed that he was okay and that the problem should slowly go away.
Is your boyfriends mothers dog part boxer....? ( just curious ) At any rate, it is the owners responsibility to not only control her dog, but teach it some manners as well...if she won't...somebody needs to....! Maybe your boyfriend can help you with this matter ?

3) Is my understanding correct that you took your boxer to the veterinarian, they examined the dog and discussed the masses but no tests were run and then the masses started going away without any sort of treatment?
We can definitely discuss common tumors in Boxers as they are a breed who are predisposed to different cancers, but the masses you were seeing could also be something completely different, like an abscess or other localized injury.

I have a 7 mth old boxer i noticed he was out of it just laying there all day i gave his some pedalite and it seemed to work fine he regained some energy bout now he is vommiting blood but walking more and has a lil more enery he has thrown up blood 3 times but does not want to eat and only drinks water what should i do i can not afford to take him to vet?
My 5 year old miniature schnauzer is 5 years old. She has started coughing and is becoming more frequent. It is almost a panting cough? She also has a bad odor. Which has been going on for a month or two.(odor). I have listened to her chest with a stethescope and she is breathing fast and it sounds thick and dry. I thoguht it was maybe just a case of dust because we mulched leaves (oak and pecan) and we didn't have a bag on the mower and it got pretty dusty.
For the most part he is a healthy very pampered dog. He is much larger then the average Doberman, when young and healthy he was 116 lbs. Now that he is a old man he is about 130 lbs. He is not super active any more cause he has arthritis in his back legs which slows him down a lot. However, he does get short bouts of energy and plays with our boxer. Since Tuesday morning he has had a cough. Sounds kind of wheezy I suppose, it's so hard to describe.
It sounds like it might be meningitis. Veterinary care is called for, but if the family can't provide it (are you sure there is no veterinary charity where you are?) the chances for the dog to survive are poor, and really depend on the dog.
