Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.
I know exactly how you feel. I have been up to 310 lbs. Compulsive overeater! Food solved everything for me. So I thought. Food was my choice of drug especially sugar. A friend introduced to Overeaters Anonymous. I also work the OA HOW program. I go to face to face meetings as well as phone meetings. There is also a book available on the Mayo Clinic website that is excellent. Hope this helps you.
So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.

Hi Meara. No none of what you mentioned can kill you in your sleep. You have to realize that everyone dies at some point. This is something that is out of our control so you need to learn to let things go. Hopefully your doctor can help you with these thoughts. Things that people die of in their sleep are not things that a 13 year old has to worry about. I'm glad you are seeing your doctor tomorrow. Why don't you try some meditation videos on YouTube to help you relax.
Now, he has developed a fascination with taking shoes and socks off of dolls and most recently, I caught him looking up videos on his Ipod of people taking off their shoes and socks. I ask him why this fascinated him and he said he didn't know and that it was funny to him. He has been punished and threatened about taking the shoes and socks off of the dolls but continues to do so without hesitation.
I am terrified. I watched a couple of birthing videos and omg....I just wanna cry and I'm only 9 weeks. uuugggghhhhh.
Soo everyone has been telling me not to watch labor videos because it's going to freak me out but I just watched one and honestly it made me cry it was so beautiful I'm 38weeks+3days and I'm just waiting for my baby girl to get here so I can experience something so amazing
I am 17 and pregnant (please dont judge me) but in my school they are making me got to a class by myself in a office room to sit there and watch videos of.girls giving birth.....ik its not gonna be easy and its gonna hurt BUT i was planning to just go with it when time came since i dont want to be super scared and belive my labor will be like everyone elses (just because everyone is different) ....now i am watching these videos i am seriously getting freaked out...its not like these.
but today at my birthing class they were showing us a bunch of videos of real women giving birth and now im even more scared! instead of helping me and making me feel better about giving birth like it literally has scared the **** out of me. My pregnancy was planned so of course i knew what i was getting into. well i thought i knew what i was getting into lol.
Does anyone else watch any labor and delivery videos and get freaked out....
But me I would just go to a family members and stay there for a bit. Hoarders have a weird attachment to their items.
I Have been with my fiance for almost 2 years and we just moved in together 6 months ago. Recently I caught him looking at young girls on YouTube videos and masturbating too them. Well, I'm starting a new thread for compulsive staring. I'll start with my symptoms. Around junior year of high school, I started to stare at private parts of both men and female. I'm sure this has to everything with OCD. I don't feel any pleasure from doing it...it is sort of now automatic. It has ruined so many relationships...I don't have any friends because of it. I've been to a psychiatrist which prescribed Lexapro, Zoloft, Risperidone...none have helped.
I am a compulsive liar. I dont know if there are different stages of lying but if there is I am near the top. I lie about my friends family, health and even my past. I had my 2 year boyfriend thinking I was a totally different person. I feel bad when I do it but at the same time I often do not even realize I am doing it until after its done. He knows I lie and I am trying to tell him the truth now but I still lie about things.
) It might seem compulsive but I just liked doing it. I used to count tiles in the bathroom (still do that sometimes) including half tiles and part tiles (because of course, three part tiles make a whole tile!) and also how many knobs on the dresser drawers...it just filled up otherwise empty space in my thoughts-say if I was just doing nothing else. Maybe that sounds strange but it wasn't something I had to do, it was just something I sometimes did for fun. Well, it entertained me!
I don't know if this is really OCD or not, but it's compulsive. Sometimes I'll be in a room and I can either hear or I know a person is coming. Then I'll start freaking out and I want to hide from them and have them find me. If they come in before I can hide I'll feel like crying severely. But this only happens once about every 2 months. Is this a symptom of OCD, or are these "episodes" too far apart?
My daughter who is now 8 years old has had a problem with compulsive behavior. I have actually been talking to doctors about my concerns since she was a newborn. It all started when I was pregnant with her (Yes Really). She was my second born and I waited 4 years to get pregnant again. My first symptom, I was so hungry in my pregnancy with her I waould eat literally every 15 minutes. I woke during the night to eat atleast 6 times if not more.
