Compare clarinex to claritin

Common Questions and Answers about Compare clarinex to claritin

clarinex

Avatar n tn Claritin and Clarinex (they work very differently) might help. Claritin makes me light headed for 30 minutes, raises blood pressure a little but wears off after a few hours. Clarinex works better for me, lasts 14 hours on me. Both are pretty weak for antihistamines. Other than this there is a couple more that use the same med as Claritin, so same effect pretty much. The other antihistamines usually cause drowsyness. Don't know of too many nasal sprays with out steroids.
Avatar f tn My OB told me that I was aloud to take my Claritin d for now but since the decongestant can make your blood pressure go up I will just have to watch as I get closer to my due date. She told me I could switch to regular Claritin if this start to effect my blood pressure. So I would always ask her OB but my doctor didn't really have any other concerns about it. Good luck and Congrats to you both!
Avatar n tn First is the cough from a problem in side or something you are breathing in? A good test I use is a HEPA filted mask. (the kind you can get in the hardware store with canisters). Wearing that for 5 minutes should clear up the mucus quite a bit if it is something you are breathing in. Easy test and takes only 5 minutes. Try a deep breath with the mask on after 5 minutes and see if you still feel like coughing.
Avatar n tn I use use Clarinex which helps a little. Tried Claritin and it did not do anything. Most nasal sprays help, a non steroid nasal spray such as NasalCrom might help too and is gentle with virtually no side effects. I found that allergy shots was the only thing that stopped it for me. I don't use nasal sprays anymore. My rynitis was really bad and clogging my air ways. Now it seems to be almost gone. I get a bit sticky but never more than clearing my throat kind of annoyance.
Avatar m tn Hello, The small itchy bumps on your fingers can be due to contact dermatitis or dyshidrotic eczema. For the itchy bumps, take antihistaminics like Benadryl(causes drowsiness) and Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rashes as it helps in soothing the skin. You can also apply mild steroid cream on the rash.If the symptoms persists then oral steroids may be needed which are available on prescription. Also keep the area well moisturized with good moisturiers.
Avatar m tn What really helped me was Clarinex prescription from my doctor. It doesn't work right away. They do have claritin OTC but it is less strong. It takes a while but then it works after a while and then I hardly had any allergies. Another thing you can try along with this is daily Nasal crom spray. It doesn't harm the nose like other nasal sprays.
Avatar n tn Try stopping current contact lens if you have them, try an oral antihistamine like Zyrtec, Claritin, or Clarinex, try an allergy drop like Patenol, Pataday, or Elestat, find out if you have allergies by seeing an allergist, then control any allergens that you are exposed to, see an ophthalmologist to be evaluated for possible oculare allergies, and also to be checked out for dry eyes. Good Luck.

Avatar f tn Benadryl is safe.
Avatar f tn she has been to an allergist but they put her on predisone and clarinex and zantec but as soon as the pred. is done the rash seems to rehash and the clarinex and othe meds seem not to help at all. She is getting so frustrated and has no idea where to turn next and who she should go to for further assistance, PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Avatar m tn In the meantime, i have switched allergy medication from Clarinex to Xyzal, which may also be helping a little. I now take the allergy medication before bed whereas before, I had been taking Clarinex in the mornings. I notice that the problem of too much mucus seems less prevalent in the mornings upon waking up. It worsens in the afternoon and evening, especially after meals. Again, thank you for your input, Dr. Rajput.
Avatar f tn Yeah, I know they *should* have told be, but they didn't, and it would probably take another two months to schedule this test if I have to reschedule. I'm in the middle of trying to finish my dissertation and between my headaches and this vertigo its already taken enough of a toll out on me. I don't know that I really want to wait another couple of months for this test to know something.
Avatar f tn I feel so much better overall when I take Claritin D but I cannot stand feeling like I have to take something to feel better. How did this situation work out for you?
Avatar n tn So I think I have allergies. I have an appt on Thurs with an ENT. To start: when I was younger (I'm 28 now) I had several ear problems, I had infections all the time and they had pondered on putting tubes in but never did and apparently I grew out of that problem.
Avatar m tn So until my body can absorb it its going to stay red and itchy. Just trying to find ways to make it absorb faster to go away. I hate this part of the test. When they give me something I am allergic to I swell up and produce histamine (the same stuff they injected me with) but after I can put cream on my arm to stop the production of histamine. So no more itching because histamine is halted.
Avatar n tn What is better for allergies allegra or claritin? Whats stronger Loratadine or Fexofenadine?
Avatar m tn Suggested I try Claritin or zyrtec to see if allergies are triggering all of this. Claritin is helping a lot with the post nasal drip, but now the junk in my chest seems tight and I have a dry, unproductive cough. Should I try mucinex to loosen up the chest and continue with Claritin?
Avatar f tn Hi. I've been taking Claritin D for aprox. 2 years. I want to wean myself off, because the one time I decided to quit cold turkey, I failed miserably. I began taking the med because of chronic congestion and swollen nasal passages. It was a miracle. I could breathe with my mouth closed and I actually got my sense of smell back. The constant sinus headaches were gone. I kept taking it because there were so many good effects.
Avatar f tn In the am I was nauseous and achy but went to work where I started to feel so dizzy i almost blacked out several times then threw up. After that I felt a bit better but still not 100%. Could this be a reaction to the Claritin? I've taken it before but not in a long time. Thank you!
Avatar f tn My doctor says only zyrtech or Claritin or benadryl but he said no to Allegra

Avatar f tn I have had various allergies all my life (none life-threatening), when I was a child I had a lot of food allergies that have since gone away, and I have always been allergic to cats, dust, mold, and pollen, most of which required very occasional antihistamines to manage symptoms. But just within the past two years or so I have started developing more serious food and inhalant allergies that continue to get worse. It seemed to start with serious reactions to various types of beer and wine.
