Clarinex or claritin

Common Questions and Answers about Clarinex or claritin

clarinex

Avatar n tn Claritin and Clarinex (they work very differently) might help. Claritin makes me light headed for 30 minutes, raises blood pressure a little but wears off after a few hours. Clarinex works better for me, lasts 14 hours on me. Both are pretty weak for antihistamines. Other than this there is a couple more that use the same med as Claritin, so same effect pretty much. The other antihistamines usually cause drowsyness. Don't know of too many nasal sprays with out steroids.
Avatar f tn Her OB and PCP told her that taking her clarinex was OK. She is miserable without it and right now has a wicked cold. I have been reading now that clarinex is OK to take and other sites saying it is not OK. She is 21 weeks right now. Why would they say it is OK if it isn't? Thanks for any info.
Avatar n tn First is the cough from a problem in side or something you are breathing in? A good test I use is a HEPA filted mask. (the kind you can get in the hardware store with canisters). Wearing that for 5 minutes should clear up the mucus quite a bit if it is something you are breathing in. Easy test and takes only 5 minutes. Try a deep breath with the mask on after 5 minutes and see if you still feel like coughing.
Avatar n tn I use use Clarinex which helps a little. Tried Claritin and it did not do anything. Most nasal sprays help, a non steroid nasal spray such as NasalCrom might help too and is gentle with virtually no side effects. I found that allergy shots was the only thing that stopped it for me. I don't use nasal sprays anymore. My rynitis was really bad and clogging my air ways. Now it seems to be almost gone. I get a bit sticky but never more than clearing my throat kind of annoyance.
Avatar n tn Try stopping current contact lens if you have them, try an oral antihistamine like Zyrtec, Claritin, or Clarinex, try an allergy drop like Patenol, Pataday, or Elestat, find out if you have allergies by seeing an allergist, then control any allergens that you are exposed to, see an ophthalmologist to be evaluated for possible oculare allergies, and also to be checked out for dry eyes. Good Luck.
345124 tn?1234483278 ive had nasal congestion, crackling in my ears when i swallow, ears popping on their own, painless but very distracting pressure behind my nose and eyes extending to the top of my head, equilibrium problems, and occasional dizziness - not the kind where i want to pass out or lose focus, or the room is spinning, but sort of a feeling like im on a boat and the world around me looks unsteady. sometimes i feel like i want to tip over. anyway so i went to the doctor today.

Avatar f tn my mom has been experiencing this weird outbreak of hives all over her body, and when she has an outbreak it seems to cause severe joint pain, but not in the same joints it kinda travels around.she has been to an allergist but they put her on predisone and clarinex and zantec but as soon as the pred. is done the rash seems to rehash and the clarinex and othe meds seem not to help at all.
Avatar f tn Check with your doctor. But my doc gave me permission to use claritin and benedryl. My allergies had me out of it for a whole weekend. I could not even swallow.
Avatar m tn Acid reflux, specifically laryngeal-pharyngeal reflux, can cause the symptoms you describe. You might want to try some OTC reflux meds like prilosec or zantac. Feel better.
Avatar n tn You can also take OTC antihistaminics like benadryl or Claritin. . Use an over-the-counter (OTC) decongestant combined with an anti-inflammatory analgesic (pain reliever) like Ibuprofen. However, you should not use decongestants for more than 5-7 days at a time. You can use bronchodilators for difficulty in breathing and wheezing.
Avatar n tn it could be a number of things it could be hives they are when you get too hot could be scabies if they have black dots or a intolernce to something you have eaten
Avatar f tn The only allergy meds safe for baby is claritin all others can harm the baby.
Avatar n tn have you tried claritin or better yet asked a doctor about Allegra that medicine is AWESOME for allergies
Avatar f tn Is it 12-hour or 24-hour type of Claritin? You need to know to know how to dose. It is more important if it contains a decongestant than if it's plain. Never take more than directed for decongestants or acetaminophen (Tylenol).
Avatar f tn The allergies drive me crazy too and it seems that now that I'm pregnant are stronger! I remember taking Claritin a couple of times on my first pregnancy and now I have the healthiest baby ever! I'm 6 weeks pregnant now and I don't dare to take any allergie medication but I'm pretty sure you are safe if you do it very once in a while, only when you really need to.
Avatar n tn Have you changed anything recently? Like new food, or shampoo, or carpet cleaner or applied a new flea product? Anything you can think of when this started will help.... Yes, your right....Both of your foods are very good ones.....Wet is better than dry for skin problems.....Just a thought..... I'm hoping we can figure this out....Karla P.S. I feed table foods, too.....Only healthy ones, though.....All the time as a matter of fact!
Avatar n tn I started taking Claritin this Monday morning for allergies (red eyes, etc...). Towards the end of Monday night, I had a horrible leg cramp in my right leg and began to start feeling a tingling sensation in my feet/hands on Tuesday. Since Tuesday, this tingling sensation has come and gone, leaving me to believe that there's a correlation between the Claritin and the side effects I'm feeling. I did a little research and it looks like they could be related.
7165624 tn?1395647767 I was told by my doctor that you can take just about anything but to stay away from the d. Take Claritin but not Claritin D, etc... Look for that d word on any sinus or allergy meds.
Avatar f tn I am not sure, sorry. Your doctor or insurance should have a nurse hotline, or maybe ask a pharmacist...
Avatar f tn I am a major allergy sufferer! Clarifying and Zyrtec are safe to take. However! Do not get the ones with the "D" added onto them (claritin d) because that is either not studied enough yet or not recommended. I take claritin as needed. "They" say it might be bad for allergies this spring with the late start. Exercise indoors. Take care and hopeb this is helpful. We are also allowed Benadryl but that you would need to call about. ...
Avatar f tn My doctor allows me to to take Claritin cause I have really bad water retention in my hands but still would want to double check with your doctor.
