Clarinex vs claritin d

Common Questions and Answers about Clarinex vs claritin d

clarinex

Avatar f tn My OB told me that I was aloud to take my Claritin d for now but since the decongestant can make your blood pressure go up I will just have to watch as I get closer to my due date. She told me I could switch to regular Claritin if this start to effect my blood pressure. So I would always ask her OB but my doctor didn't really have any other concerns about it. Good luck and Congrats to you both!
Avatar n tn Claritin and Clarinex (they work very differently) might help. Claritin makes me light headed for 30 minutes, raises blood pressure a little but wears off after a few hours. Clarinex works better for me, lasts 14 hours on me. Both are pretty weak for antihistamines. Other than this there is a couple more that use the same med as Claritin, so same effect pretty much. The other antihistamines usually cause drowsyness. Don't know of too many nasal sprays with out steroids.
Avatar n tn First is the cough from a problem in side or something you are breathing in? A good test I use is a HEPA filted mask. (the kind you can get in the hardware store with canisters). Wearing that for 5 minutes should clear up the mucus quite a bit if it is something you are breathing in. Easy test and takes only 5 minutes. Try a deep breath with the mask on after 5 minutes and see if you still feel like coughing.
345124 tn?1234483278 i finally saw a doctor today after a year of sinus and eustachian tube symptoms and off and on dizziness. mostly it was the spooky dizziness that made me want to see a doctor.
Avatar n tn I use use Clarinex which helps a little. Tried Claritin and it did not do anything. Most nasal sprays help, a non steroid nasal spray such as NasalCrom might help too and is gentle with virtually no side effects. I found that allergy shots was the only thing that stopped it for me. I don't use nasal sprays anymore. My rynitis was really bad and clogging my air ways. Now it seems to be almost gone. I get a bit sticky but never more than clearing my throat kind of annoyance.
Avatar m tn For the itchy bumps, take antihistaminics like Benadryl(causes drowsiness) and Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rashes as it helps in soothing the skin. You can also apply mild steroid cream on the rash.If the symptoms persists then oral steroids may be needed which are available on prescription. Also keep the area well moisturized with good moisturiers. If the itching persists then pls get it evaluated from a dermatologist. I hope that helps.
Avatar m tn What really helped me was Clarinex prescription from my doctor. It doesn't work right away. They do have claritin OTC but it is less strong. It takes a while but then it works after a while and then I hardly had any allergies. Another thing you can try along with this is daily Nasal crom spray. It doesn't harm the nose like other nasal sprays.
Avatar n tn Try stopping current contact lens if you have them, try an oral antihistamine like Zyrtec, Claritin, or Clarinex, try an allergy drop like Patenol, Pataday, or Elestat, find out if you have allergies by seeing an allergist, then control any allergens that you are exposed to, see an ophthalmologist to be evaluated for possible oculare allergies, and also to be checked out for dry eyes. Good Luck.
Avatar n tn Is it safe to take Claritin D if you have high blood pressure? Im taking two bp. meds now. I've always used Benadryl and it is OK with hbp. I'm getting a Neulasta shot next week which causes extreme bone pain for weeks. I've hear Claritin D before and after the shot greatly helps. Not sure if I should tak it or not.
7165624 tn?1395647767 I was told by my doctor that you can take just about anything but to stay away from the d. Take Claritin but not Claritin D, etc... Look for that d word on any sinus or allergy meds.
Avatar f tn Hi. I've been taking Claritin D for aprox. 2 years. I want to wean myself off, because the one time I decided to quit cold turkey, I failed miserably. I began taking the med because of chronic congestion and swollen nasal passages. It was a miracle. I could breathe with my mouth closed and I actually got my sense of smell back. The constant sinus headaches were gone. I kept taking it because there were so many good effects.
Avatar f tn Hi Pinkdragonfly, I just finished reading your post. My suggestion would be to make an appointment with your family doctor. Does you doctor know you've been taking Claritin D for 2 years ? That's a long time. Anyway, I would make an appointment with your family doctor and let your doctor help you wean yourself off Claritin D. I've also heard Claritin D is also not good for your liver long term. Don't know if this is true.
461838 tn?1255790216 I have posed the question of tylenol vs ibuprofen, and people here have weighed in generally warning against ibuprofen. Even tylenol, you would not want to exceed 2 or 3g per day. Basically, ask you hepatologist about any medications you are taking, including OTC's. Allergies themselves can cause much headaches because the sinus system in the areas behind the forehead, nose, and eyes are clogged up with fluid. Ask your doc for a safe allergy treatment.
Avatar f tn Thank you
Avatar f tn I am a major allergy sufferer! Clarifying and Zyrtec are safe to take. However! Do not get the ones with the "D" added onto them (claritin d) because that is either not studied enough yet or not recommended. I take claritin as needed. "They" say it might be bad for allergies this spring with the late start. Exercise indoors. Take care and hopeb this is helpful. We are also allowed Benadryl but that you would need to call about. ...
Avatar m tn If you can afford to (sort of pricey at $20 for a 2 week supply) I would get Claritin-D or Allegra-D. They have an antihistamine as well as a decongestant. You have to get them from a pharmacist (behind the counter) and show your ID. I take Claritin-D daily for the same symptoms you have. I get bad headaches at night and my nose gets stuffed, with sneezing and runny eyes. Since starting Claritin-D, I no longer have that problem unless it wears off before I go to bed.
Avatar f tn I would talk to your doctor or midwife before taking anything. But the doctor gave me a list of oks to take while sick/allergies/constipation/nauseous and everything else and it says you can take A. Benadryl B. Claritin C. Zyrtec D. Allegra But like I said. Ask your doctor before taking anything.
Avatar m tn He prescribed claritin d 12 hour which helped for a little however I began to feel nervousness which i had been feeling before i took claritin d. I went back and he prescribed antibiotics, fluticasone propionate (nasal spray), and aller-tec. My allergies are completely gone however the nervousness is still there. I have stopped using everything for about four days now what should I do?
Avatar f tn Urgent care gave me an inhaler and said to take Claritin D. Claritin D cleared me up on day 1 but all congested again on day 2. They gave me a zpack as a backup. Do you think this is something more? Chest still feels heavy not coughing. Should I start zpack or continue Claritin?
Avatar n tn ve also included a different link that relates to another individual experiencing similar symptoms with Claritin-D. Seems like it could all be connected, after all. Thoughts? Link(s): http://www.offshorerx.com/drug/buy_generic_claritin.htm#6 (see less common side effects) http://www.devdaily.
Avatar f tn Call your doctor to make sure but plain Claritin not Claritin-D and plain Benadryl. But some meds can not be taken in certain trimesters.
Avatar m tn What else can I take? Should I move to the regular Claritin? How long should I give the Claritin D before I move off of it? Separate questions, I believe most pollens are gone now, here in the Chicago area. So what is left for me to suddenly be allergic to? Never had allergies before and the only reason I think it is allergies, is because it's been since August and a cold generally won't last 8 weeks. Will it?
Avatar n tn The "D" in Claritin-D or Zyrtec-D is pseudoephedrine, which is an ingredient used to make methamphetamine (speed). Manufacturers of street meth were sending hordes of kids into drugstores to buy up these necessary ingredients for their final product. That's why these medications are now locked up behind the pharmacy counter and require a photo ID to purchase them.
Avatar f tn For instance the generic of claritin and some heart and blood pressure drugs makes them affordable and they work fine. My husband gets generics of a lot of his meds and he does very well. Right now, I am slowly losing weight. It has been only a month so I am not up to full speed. But I feel in the last 2 days I have turned a corner and feel more like my old self. GOTO ANOTHER DRUGSTORE!! That is how you will get the generic from another lab.
Avatar f tn My OB doc said Benadryl amd claritin are safe to use while pregnant. Not claritin D though. If you get a cough Robitussin is said safe also.
