So if it were from tight muscles in my chest wouldn’t the Combivent not work because is affecting the lungs and not the muscles?

Went thru the 201 allergy reaction tests and am allergic to nothing. After a year finally tracked the hives down. My asthma inhaler Combivent was causing the hives. I have no problem with albuterol; it was the ipratropium bromide in Combivent causing the hives. I now stay away from any inhaler (like Spiriva) containing similar bromide components. Also check meds you take for sulphur. I can tell a new med contains sulphur when my hands itch like crazy from hives.

I have been using Combivent for about a month together with Asmanex to treat my cough-variant asthma and have had pretty good results. However, the first inhalation of Combivent always triggers a major coughing spell (sometimes it's so severe I almost vomit or my ribs hurt). Are there other bronchodilators that might be easier to inhale and still be effective? Or would using a nebulizer help? I've heard there can be adverse side effects with a nebulizer.

He is fine now but what I do not understand is that just last week, we were eating junk food such as snickers, reesees cups, and McDonalds and he was just fine. And just today he was at school and he ate regular peanuts and responded to them so terribly. I thought if someone has an allergy to peanuts, wouldn't it be bad for them to consume products that consists of peanuts? He didn't get sick last week from eating that food, but he got really sick today. I am totally confused.

I have never heard the peanut butter while breastfeeding thing either. I definately ate a lot of P.B. while nursing my son - all 15 months! t be in the same room with peanut products, because just breathing the air with peanut dust and oil can cause anaphylaxis. I know that the smell of peanuts will even trigger migraines for me, so I myself can still have a reaction if I'm in the same room with peanut products.

first I tried Abuterol and it took about a week and it was an incredible relief , so I went back to my doctor and started taking Advair and took about a month to start working and I'm still taking it and it works great. Excerise:get yourself a heart rate monitor and do the same activity your doing now and record your peak heart rate during your workout.Pick a time limit( I used 30mins) and recorded the starting rate and ending rate.

Switched up steriod to inhaled Flovent 44 instead of nebulizer and albuterol qid. No results. Chest x-ray and blood allergy (why not at this point) ordered and clear. Follow up with Pulm realized no coughing at night and diagnosed with Protracted Bronchitis. Treated 3 weeks of Augmentin 500mg BID x three weeks. Nasal and throat cultures test negative except for rhinovirus.
