Common Questions and Answers about Colon pain causes

colon

Avatar m tn Sounds like the lining in your colon is a little clogged. When the colon is clogged, it is hard for your intestines to break down the food that you eat, because their is some gook sticking to/on your digestive track, which causes constipation, runny stool, dizziness, headaches, and to some point, nausea. here is how to fix the problem. you need to get your hands on some"COLON CLEANSER".
567946 tn?1219760872 Usually a redundant colon is caused by long-term constipation. The colon stretches to accommodate the stool. The colon also "stretches" and loses tone as we age, which is one reason why older people have more trouble with constipation than younger people. This condition is not uncommon, and usually doesn't cause trouble unless it's severe.
Avatar m tn Can colon spasms also create hip pain? It definitely causes back & abdominal pain.
1413243 tn?1281795471 My mother is suffering from abdominal pain and lower back pain accompanied by headaches. She became bloated (soft) and fat. She is 60 years old. What might be the causes? Is that a liver cancer? Or Pancreatic? Or colon??? Please help.
1173929 tn?1263534416 He can't explain it because he doesn't know, or care enough to find out. You're absolutely right in not accepting this excuse. Get a second opinion and not one from anyone associated with him. My son had stomach pain after removal of his colon, his doctor told him it was scar tissue and to live with it. He insisted something was wrong and opted for exploratory surgery, he had a large tumor attached to his aorta. and we lost him at 31.
Avatar n tn I had a 24 hour episode of the most intense abdominal pain in my life, although labor pain was similar. The feeling of extreme pressure and stabbing type pains radiated throughout, front to back. The pains were even present in my vagina. I am 68 so it had nothing to do with mentrual pain. I had a CT scan and colonoscopy and the only possible cause was a 8" narrowing in the colon. I also have Diverticulitis but Dr didn't think that caused the pain.
Avatar n tn But this pain is very severe and colicky. The other causes for the pain could be infections of the bowel and bladder, prolapsed intervertebral disc or inflammatory diseases of the colon. Please consult your primary care physician who will do blood tests, x- rays and may ask for an ultra-sonogram to find out the cause for the pain. Regards.
1440074 tn?1283996071 The pain is pretty constant with spasms very often, and when I have a spasm the pain is so intense that it causes my entire body to tremble. I would describe the pain as almost like a bite near my butthole. Nothing I have tried has given me any relief. I have googled my symptoms and the only thing I have found that sounds somewhat simliar is an anal fissure, chron's, or colon cancer.
Avatar f tn If your brother has colon cancer and with the symptoms you are saying I would talk to your doctor to schedule a colonscopy, that way you can rule out any cancer, polyps etc. It is possible that you could have Rectovaginal endo as it causes vaginal and rectal pain. Have you ever had an ultrasound?
Avatar f tn Am 67 year old woman. Have had symptoms for many years, starting with the first time bleeding, fever, diagnosis "non-specific colitis." After this diagnosis became irritable bowel syndrome. Then several episodes of diverticulitis. Now I'm on Asacol with no IBD diagnosis, and have over the past six months developed pain right side of belly button, especially when taking a deep breath, but also aggravated by sleeping on the other side.
Avatar n tn You do not say how old you are but the more serious causes of rectal bleeding (colon cancer etc) are unlikely to arise before you are age ~40/50 plus. Unless your G.I. specialist can positively prove that the cause of your bleeding is minor (e.g. haemorrhoids, anal fissure etc) then for maximum reassurance (hopefully) you may wish to request a colonoscopy. How do I know about all this??
Avatar f tn What causes prostatomegaly(enlarged prostate)...is caused by a urinary infection or is it caused by HORMONE IMBALANCE? Is it caused by a STD?
5160575 tn?1364509880 Hello and Sorry for the late reply. It may not be related, the bowel movements and problems with urination. Gas can get trapped if there is an obstruction to the bowel or if the mobility of the colon is impaired. The pain could be renal colic. Small stones can obstruct the passage of urine and when the body tries to 'push' against the blockade this results in colic, which is severe attacks of pain.
Avatar n tn s, not overweight, in otherwise in good health, allthough my energy levels are not good because of the constant pain. I also did a 3 month colon and intestinal cleanse from Dr. Natura which was fine, but did not help alleviate the problem. . What could be wrong? Please help, I'm in hell right now.
1361820 tn?1277833830 Hi. Before my period I get pain on the left side of my abdomen and then the pain goes to my leg. I just want to know if that is normal. It started when I stopped using the pill about a year ago. Can u please help.
Avatar n tn Ulcers form where inflammation has killed the cells that usually line the colon, then bleed and produce pus. Inflammation in the colon also causes the colon to empty frequently, causing diarrhea. When the inflammation occurs in the rectum and lower part of the colon it is called ulcerative proctitis. If the entire colon is affected it is called pancolitis. If only the left side of the colon is affected it is called limited or distal colitis.
Avatar m tn The other causes could be gastritis, peptic ulcer disease and GERD. Disorders of the spleen and colon could also cause pain. Kidney disorders too produce colicky and sharp pain. Sometimes anxiety with flatulence can cause this pain. You will need to consult your doctor for proper evaluation of pain and therapy. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 45 year old healthy woman--I eat a very well balanced diet & drink upwards of 60 + ounces of water everyday. I weigh 144 lbs. & am about 5' 6" tall. When I was 33 (about 12 years ago) years old I was experiencing a pain in my lower right side (I thought it was my ovary) the pain was as bad as a labor pain.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with Diverticulosis but I have not been able to get a colonoscopy. (Financial reasons) I have severe stomach pain and have dark purple and sometimes bright red blood in my stool. My stool is never normal. It comes out like pebbles and it looks like it has a layer of fat/oily or clearish white substance that incircles each pebble. I have had hernia surgery and have had 2 feet of intestines removed. Could you give me some insight please before I go to another Dr?
Avatar n tn t how I got, I was treated with antibiotics but all my problems of my right side pain started in Aug 07, The pain seems to be in the region of my ascending colon which causes me stabbing / throbbing pain and tender to touch.
Avatar n tn You will see that causes can range from minor (anal fissure, haemorrhoids etc) right through to colon cancer. One of my Wife's uncles delayed seeking medical advice for rectal bleeding although the symptoms were plain for all to see. When he eventually sought medical advice the doctor said "...if only you would have come to see us sooner....". He died about a year later from colon cancer.
Avatar n tn Such dosages are ineffective for this sort of pain. If the pain is colon pain, an antispasmodic can help with the pain, but the problem with the antispasmodic if the colon is already slow and tends to be constipated already, the antispasmodic can worsen that kind of problem as well, because it will slow the colon down even more. A hot water bottle may help with the pain--some.
