Is there anyone who suffers from severe colon spasms, bloating, back pain with attacks and last for several days. Drs say its irritable bowel syndrome but, i have tried several medications for irritable bowel syndrome and nothing seems to help me except for a heating pad and being confined to the bed for several days until the attack subsides.
Be careful that you don't have an obstruction. You might want to keep an eye on that. I used to have pain and nausea that would come over me suddenly and it would last from minutes to hours, then I'd be ok. This went on for a long time till finally I was real sick and went to the ER. A Cat scan showed a mass in my small intestine that wasn't completely blocking things but was obstructing things just enough that things weren't getting through properly in that area, hence the pain.
for the past 2yrs i have suffered with unbelievable pain in my lower left intestinal area as well as an uncontrolable water-like leaking from an extremely embarrasing place. ive had several tests done and everything appears normal...it definitly is NOT! the area is very bloated and the pain never lets up. for some reason, that i cannot understand, codeine stops all of these symptoms and i feel normal for a short while. codeine is an awfull drug and i cannot do this anymore...please help me.
Im 54 year old male with severe back pain, I've had fusion done on L2 thru L4 now my thoracic T6-T7disc herniation which partially effaces the right ventral thecal sac. T7-T8 disc herniation. T9-T10 herniation effaces
the ventral thecal sac and subtly indents the right ventral surface of the cord. Prominant facet and ligamentum
flavum hypertrophy at T10-T11 and T11-T12 partially efaces the posterolateral thecal sac bilaterally.
I also suffer from low back pain caused by lumbar interverbral degenerative disc disease with lumbar radiculopathy. These conditions also cause pain in my hips that presents itself as a burning sensation along with shooting pain down my right leg. My pain comes from dislocated or bulging discs and a ruptured disc. These herniated discs apply pressure on nerve roots responsible for sending pain signals to the brain from the hips and legs.
I have had some pain in my stomach and back for a little over a month now. I am going to see a proctologist in 2 weeks and was wondering if a proctologist checks your prostate at all? or is that a job for the general physician. I was just reading that prostatitis could be the cause of simultaneous back and stomach pain. I'd like to mention I have also had bleeding passing bowels for over a month as well.
Sometimes, they can do a manual disimpaction if the stool is low enough in the colon (this sounds like what they had to do with your sister). If the stool is not low enough then sometimes surgery is required- if the colon becomes completely blocked sometimes emergency surgery is needed to prevent a ruptured bowel.
What you have described is a fecal impaction and the only treatment is to get the impacted stool out.
For the past 6 months I have been battling severe abdominal bloating and an overall feeling of poor health. I have been expierriencing severe abdominal pain that is sharp and stabbing for the past few weeks. I have been in and out of the ER. They tested gallbladder and it came back fine. I now have swollen fingers. I also am 7 days late on period and i am not pregnant. Any suggestions???
Hello, my grandfather is 55 years old and had always been in great health until polyps were found in his colon. He got them removed then shortly after was told he needed surgery. He elected to do the labroscopic (spelling sorry) surgery as opposed to the open surgery. He did not recieve a single CT scan before the surgery so during the surgery the doctor slipped and ended up cutting him open and taking out 60% of his colon. Home from the hospital for 9 days he called the dr.
For the last couple days I have been having aching type pain in my stomach along with the right mid/lower part of my abdomen (where my intestines seem to be). I went to my general doctor and he said it might be h plylori infection. He ran a test to check for that. Can stomach pain from h pylori also cause pain in the intestines (which is where the right sided mid/lower pain seems to be)? Also, about a year ago I had colon resection surgery for diverticulitis in my descending colon.
A week later I started having severe abdominal pain with nausea and vomiting. I was admitted at a local hospital then did laporascopy to find an extensive amount of intestinal adhesions. The surgeon wants to operate right a way! I was not ready because I wasn't fully recovered from my lumbar dynamic fusion surgery yet. I asked my Dr. if there is another solution to push back the surgery until I feel ready, he said not really you are just wasting your time and you may get sicker.
After doing a colon cleanse I developed back pain it's more like a frying feeling right where the sigmoid colon is located. If I don't take a cleanse pill I get constipated now and when I use the pill I get this feeling of frying in my back. Now I feel like my insides ovaries and uterus is going to fall out. I have a history of ovarian cyst the simple cyst I get them all the time the bust and cause this frying feeling to but in lower stomach.
I have been in extreme pain since February 17 and was diagnosed with a infection in my colon has never cleared up colonsopy should nothing, I am waiting on a scan for my pelvis/ abdomen area amd I'm still in pain it's on the left side were ur colon is and feels like something is about to burst inside me ,lately the pain is right through to my back ,has anyone else experiencedo anything similar?
39 yo female. Lower abdominal pain for 4 days. Getting worse daily. Hurts worse when things move thru colon. Be it gas or to have a BM. To walk I'm fine. However I can't run. It hurts. To laugh, hit a bump in car, cough etc.... Hurts and have to hold my stomach. Today added a new symptom. When I sit it shoots pain up my rectum into my lower abdomen. Not sure what's going on. Any ideas? My BM's are normal. But to strain or move anything thru my intestine hurts.
For some time, I have been having problems with leaking stool and pain in my right side. For the past couple of weeks I have been having episodes of feeling like gas is going to pass and then I have an explosive dark watery diarrhea. Afterwards, I will have lower back pain throughout the next 12-24 hours. Could this be Crohns, colitis or cancer?
Can colon spasms also create hip pain? It definitely causes back & abdominal pain.
