Common Questions and Answers about Coffee withdrawal depression

coffee

Avatar f tn It certainly sounds like you are, but you will know for sure if you experience these withdrawal symptoms - especially if these occur 12 hours after your last coffee: headache, foggy, depression, irritability, fatigue, decreased alertness If you are trying to quit coffee, these symptoms can last for a full week. You also mentioned that you are adding whipped cream and syrup to your coffees. These can most certainly be additive. Please see my website: Addictionsunplugged.
Avatar f tn Yes it is definitely the reason you should never stop an antidepressant by yourself cause you only will make the problem bigger see your doctor again and what concerns bloating and depression believe me depression can affect the digestive system alot and I suffer the same problem bloating, cramps and ehatever I eat hurts my stomach and intestine....Try to relax and drink relaxing teas before going to bed....Don't drink coffee or tea or even sodas.
Avatar f tn I just looked up Caffiene withdrawal and among others mood swings, depression, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue and flu symptoms are some things listed!!! Could I be experiencing both Caffiene and opiate withdrawal? There are some articles that say Caffiene withdrawal is classified in some journals as a mental disorder!! I want to drink coffee now but it's 10pm! I'm intrigued now. Thoughts?
Avatar f tn A cup of coffee a day OR a couple of caffeinated sodas a day is fine. They recommend keeping consumption under 200mg.
Avatar f tn I read studies that nicotine, alcohol and caffeine (specially with sugar) are pretty bad for depression.
Avatar f tn Watch out for withdrawal headaches if you're used to your coffee and stop suddenly you can get a nasty one for a few days. On top of that, pregnancy can also cause migraines, and a little caffeine can help in a pinch; it's an active ingredient in migraine meds (which you CAN'T take). Just make sure you're also drinking lots and lots of water.
Avatar m tn My Dr hase prescibed me Oxynorm 5mg, once a day, incase I experience withdrawal symptoms. I have suffered from depression all my life and are on anti-depressants at the moment, Fluoxitine 60mg once a day. Since reducing the Oxcontin I have stared to experience extreme bouts, more severe and more often, of depression since I started reducing the Oxycontin. Is that a normal side affect of Oxycontin reduction?
Avatar n tn I asked the nurse if I should completely cut out coffee or is it ok to have a cup a day and she said a cup a day is fine. I cut it out the first time and it wasn't too bad. For some reason this time around it's hard. I'm trying to slowly wean myself and cut it out but I was seeing if anyone else's Dr said it's ok to have a cup a day or did they want you to cut it out? Or is there anything you like to drink in the morning in place of it? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Frapps are real coffee they just have a lot of other fattening ingredients diluting the coffee. You wouldn't really be able to know the affects of the caffeine on your baby until its born. You are allowed 150-300 mg of caffiene a day which equals about 1 or 2 cups of coffee or on pop a day.
Avatar f tn ve gone through withdrawal from stopping other medications (Vicodin for chronic pain) and know how horrible it can be. I know that Wellbutrin increases the chance for seizes and I don't want to risk one by stopping the Zoloft cold turkey. I have to take anywhere from 5-8 Tylenol PM to fall asleep now and I drink 1-4 cups of coffee and 1-2 Red Bulls a day to make it through an 8 hour workday.
Avatar n tn As withdrawals can feel same as depression, we have to give it time after we stop. Withdrawal symptoms will come on pretty quickly after we stop, depression rather slower. We will know ourselves what is happening, as you and I did. Your suggestion to wonder502 is a good one.
624754 tn?1233297136 Always eat something first because I could feel weak or faint. The caffeine in my coffee has become unhealthy because I have drank coffee for many years. I know that caffeine requires more food as to be absorbed and caffeine as a drug continues to be active and this is my question; How long should it take to withdraw from the caffeine, how many day?
Avatar f tn last year i noticed that i suffer from increased sensitivity to pepsi tea , coffee and no longer tolerate them in a good manner plus mood and sleep disturbances , when i drink dew or pepsi i get the feeling of enormous energy supply that i can run atrack 50 times 0_o .
Avatar n tn Hey everyone, A slow growing vicodin habit over the last few years...just this past fall - "It would be nice" turned to "have to have it". I've been taking an average of 6-12 vicodins 5-500 /day, the last few weeks in the upper 12 category. I'm more worried about the depression than the physical symptoms...and that feeling like there's sandpaper on the inside. I go cold turkey tomorrow.
Avatar f tn I have sleep apnea and depression and anxiety. I was put on Seroquel and Lexapro. These last two helped lessen the depression and anxiety but made my sleepiness and fatigue much worse. Also, I was putting on a lot of weight due to a strong craving for sweets every afternoon. My psychiatrist had told me if the fatigue got really bad I could cut the Lexapro in half, from 10mg to 5. I just started doing this 2 days ago.
Avatar n tn Post-acute withdrawal effects According to a range of Medical journals there is also an often under-emphasized potential for Post-acute-withdrawal syndrome which may last until after the initial short-term. Post-acute-withdrawal syndrome may induce or mimic psychiatric disorders temporarily or long term such as Depression (clinical), Anxiety disorder, Psychosis and in rare cases, even Suicidal ideation.
Avatar n tn Talk to a psychiatrist about stopping. They will wean you off slowly. If you experience withdrawal symptoms let your dr know and they can offer suggestions. good luck!
675923 tn?1296238011 Even though your dose of vicodin is relatively low, your long period of use has likely resulted in some withdrawal. There are also different aspects to withdrawal, including physical withdrawal which would mainly consist of diarrhea, body aches, insomnia, and intense fatigue; psychological withdrawal which would be primarily agitation and depression; and finally something called 'PAWS' or 'post acute withdrawal syndrome'.
Avatar f tn m through all the stuff, physical tremors, depression, anger, chills, yada yada yada. Is it normal to just suddenly feel sooooo tired? I figure its just from all the withdrawal but was just wondering if anyone else went through it and how long it took before you started getting energy back. I've been forcing myself to get up and move.
910419 tn?1289483727 It could be a caffeine withdrawal migraine since the instant was decaf. Our bodies (since we are migraineurs) like rather rigid schedules, and that includes our caffeine consumption (if we have any in our diet). I have found that most migraineurs will need their daily cup of coffee around the exact same time of the day, and that they cannot replace this cup of coffee with a decaf cup of coffee.
10219953 tn?1426171839 Any body else still having coffee? Iv had 4 Oz cup to 8 Oz couple times a week. Iv noticed that's it's helped with the minimal swelling/water rention when it happens usually the next day after Iv had a day of not drinking any. I still drink my 4 liters of water a day.

Avatar f tn I was on Welbutrin for 2 weeks for depression and became very suicidal so i would look out for that just in case.
Avatar f tn I know the normal pregnancy 'Dont drink coffee' speech, as I've heard it countless times. But I have also been told that it has not been proven that drinking coffee will negatively affect your growing baby in any way, just that it is recommended not to over-indulge, and not to drink more than the normal recommended daily intake for an adult. I am a coffee drinker, and I only have one cup, if that, every one or two days. I get tired of people telling me that it is harmful to my baby.
Avatar f tn I'm a ftm and I'm being weened off my depression meds and I'm having withdrawal symptoms and feeling so depressed!! I hate that I'm feeling this way. I'm so happy about this baby but just can't seem to express it because every day depression takes over. Anyone else feel this way??
