Common Questions and Answers about Coffee withdrawal headaches

coffee

Avatar f tn Watch out for withdrawal headaches if you're used to your coffee and stop suddenly you can get a nasty one for a few days. On top of that, pregnancy can also cause migraines, and a little caffeine can help in a pinch; it's an active ingredient in migraine meds (which you CAN'T take). Just make sure you're also drinking lots and lots of water.
Avatar n tn I was having relentless headaches for 2 weeks starting at 15 weeks. I asked midwife about it and she recommended I drink three liters of water everyday. Since I've been doing that my headaches are pretty much gone. It's definitely worth a try.
624754 tn?1233297136 I was a caffiene junky with bad headaches if I went without my coffee. I never drank any kind of instant coffee before, but the folgers singles are pretty good.
Avatar f tn Frapps are real coffee they just have a lot of other fattening ingredients diluting the coffee. You wouldn't really be able to know the affects of the caffeine on your baby until its born. You are allowed 150-300 mg of caffiene a day which equals about 1 or 2 cups of coffee or on pop a day.
910419 tn?1289483727 It could be a caffeine withdrawal migraine since the instant was decaf. Our bodies (since we are migraineurs) like rather rigid schedules, and that includes our caffeine consumption (if we have any in our diet). I have found that most migraineurs will need their daily cup of coffee around the exact same time of the day, and that they cannot replace this cup of coffee with a decaf cup of coffee.
Avatar n tn ve only been sticking to decaf coffee in my pregnancy (9 weeks). Your headaches might not be due to caffeine withdrawal it can also be a pregnancy symptom, I've been getting lots. I found that with my constant fatigue real coffee doesn't help anyways. You are at highest risk for miscarriage is in the first trimester so I would be extra careful and stick to the recommended amount. Try drinking more water throughout the day to help ease and prevent headaches!
7765842 tn?1406963224 I have a medium iced coffee every morning and no other caffeine through the day. If I cut cold turkey, I would get headaches from caffeine withdrawal. There is a limit of about two cups of coffee a day, so I think if it's about that you are fine.
Avatar f tn Here lately, I've been having consistent headaches. I talked to my doctor and he said the only thing I can take is Tylenol. It helps for maybe thirty minutes and then the headache is back. What else could I possibly do or take?
1193434 tn?1267628242 Like Vicki said, if you take a tylenol with caffeine that will help alot. The caffeine withdrawal can cause really bad headaches. I had body pain (sometimes quite bad) on and off for about the first month. I was also very tired. This will pass!! Its helped to take 800 mg of motrin, and to do get out and do some stretching and walking. Exercise helps to burn off some of the stress too. You will be ok if you just hang in there for a little while longer!!
Avatar f tn m seven weeks clean of oxycodone and still experiencing awful symptoms both mental and physical (which I feel may be some type of post acute withdrawal.) Aversion to food, nausea, dry heave spells, fatigue, insomnia, pounding heart episodes, severe anxiety attacks, mood swings, depression and diarrhea. I've been avoiding Caffiene every time I have anxiety attack episode (which is from opiate WD.
Avatar f tn You can drink tylenol, and it could be either caffeine withdrawal if you stop drinking coffee or soda.
5787844 tn?1376078984 I love coffee but since I have hit the nausea phase. .... I cant even smell it! Which caused caffeine withdrawal headaches lol oy.
Avatar f tn My doctor says they advise against caffeine in large quantities bc they believe its connected to colic. He says nothing is wrong with spacing out a can here or there. I have a can in the morning (mtn dew) and usually a dr. Pepper in the evening. They say clearer sodas are better than the darker bc of sugar content.
Avatar m tn I used to take excedrin, which is pretty similar, tylenol, aspirin and caffeine, I think. I was taking about what you are, and it's the caffeine that's addictive. Luckily, the only withdrawal I experienced was headaches. I had to stop taking them when I went into rehab, because for some reason, medicinal caffeine wasn't allowed, but coffee and soda was.
Avatar f tn I know the normal pregnancy 'Dont drink coffee' speech, as I've heard it countless times. But I have also been told that it has not been proven that drinking coffee will negatively affect your growing baby in any way, just that it is recommended not to over-indulge, and not to drink more than the normal recommended daily intake for an adult. I am a coffee drinker, and I only have one cup, if that, every one or two days. I get tired of people telling me that it is harmful to my baby.
7878456 tn?1395003341 You want to stay below 300mg of caffeine per day.
1034911 tn?1389546066 Just a thought I have read that caffeine withdrawal can cause headaches. I know if I start to get a headache I have some coffee and that usually helps.
Avatar f tn I was a complete coffee addict pre pregnancy, but now I limit it to no more than two cups of coffee a day, and sometimes I don't drink it at all. Also, I have a few Dr.
Avatar f tn I quit caffeine years ago, cold turkey. It is NOT easy. One thing to consider is how you were getting your caffeine? If you were drinking diet sodas, or coffee with artificial sweeteners, you may also be dealing with aspartame withdrawal. (There's some controversy around this, and the science for sure isn't settled.) I drank a LOT of Diet Coke. After about 2 weeks of caffeine-withdrawal headaches and the like, I had a lot of irritability, anxiety, etc.
Avatar f tn I have also had quite a few caffeine withdrawal headaches/migraines. Even my doctor told me that I could drink one pop a day to keep the headaches away. Do you all think it will be fine if I only drink one pop a day? Or should I just do without for now? Did any of you drink pop at all during your pregnancies? Did everything turn out fine? Please post your opinions. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Try a cup of coffee, it won't hurt bub but the small amount if caffeine may help ease the tension. Also it sounds weird but sometimes works, try rubbing a little Vicks onto your temples and along the back if your neck, then have a lay down or try to sleep.

304970 tn?1331425994 s a stimulant, increasing your heart rate and metabolism, and it can cause insomnia, nervousness, and headaches. (I know when I occasionally have a cup of coffee in the mornings I'll get a headache from the caffeine ><) 3. It stimulates the secretion of stomach acids and can contribute to heartburn. 4. It's a diuretic, causing you to lose fluids and calcium--both of which you need to maintain a healthy pregnancy. So ...as with all things "bad" for you ...

Other wd symptoms seem to have started to let up fairly well. I took restlegs prep last night, twice. first time for me, could that cause stomach upset along with more headaches?
