they still use this medication for high blood pressure, the most recent change in its use is that it is being prescrubed to children who have aspergers and other autistic traits mara i can see why you are very tired, methadone and clonidine will do that and i want you to remember that you cannot catch a buzz while you are trying to get clean you either want to get clean or catch a buzz

As for myself the Klonopin has been of some use in treating tardive dyskinesia. The Clonidine was much better. When I was on it, I could go out. I became homebound after that because the Clonidine and Tizanidine both alpha blockers were much better at controlling dystonic spasms.

They did work. I just couldn't tolerate the side effects some of which are statistically rare so there's no point discussing them. As for Clonidine its primary use in me is in controlling dystonic spasms but it does work as a mood stabilizer. I do feel quite tired from it but thankfully my blood pressure has not been affected too badly (not the same as with Atenolol I took years ago as a side effect pill, that dropped my blood pressure to the point where it was unsafe).

That way, if it should lower your blood pressure too much then you are safer with less in your system. Listen to your body and use it sparingly, you may not need to take it more than once a day. If you can't get a blood pressure cuff to use at home then you'll probably have to go to one of the drug stores that has a self-serve blood pressure machine. I know we have many of them in this area, but they may not be available everywhere.

anyone have any info on using Clonidine .1 mg for opiate withdrawal systems? Suppose to be a high blood pressure medication, but says it can be used for withdrawal systems too? wondering if it really works?

anyone know how long the clonidine patch takes to start working, I started using it last night for opiate withdrawls. 6 yrs. of use and it is time to end this vicious cycle; i was taking 60 mg. methadone for a back problem a day. today is day 2.

in the morning so did not stay on it...neurontine would help wds in many ways///and it is a safe drug...clonidine is not truly addictive in the sense we speak of...but a drug that can cause emergency situations..... Ur total oxy dose was 110 mgs daily...again..low BP is a concern with the clonidine and patches can not be controlled as they continually release/pill form can be more easily controlled as u can skip a dose if ur BP is low.....this is sumpin u need to refer to ur dr...

WIkipedia says clonidine is good for reducing sweats and general "unease", but the patient must withdraw carefully from it too, in order to avoid rebound hypertension. Has anyone had experience with this? Did you experience the rebound hypertension after using clonidine? I'm considering asking my doctor for this drug because I'm still experiencing w/d symptoms after 2 weeks w/d. I've not slept for four days, too. Thanks for your help.

My doc sent it in to the pharmacy to help with the WDs I am now having. I am reluctant to dd in any other pills, but I need some relief. Any experience with this drug? Side effects? Does it actually do anything? Thanks.

It is really amazing my pain is completely almost gone, with the exception of a little soreness. I have starting weaning myself from the oxy and was going to ask my doc for some clonidine. How much does it really help with the w/d symptoms?

PERSCRIBED NOTHING REALLY WORKED FULLY UNTIL I USE THE CLONIDINE .IT IS PERCRIBED FOR RLS ,I TAPERED OF THE CLONIDINE AFTER THE W/DS WERE OVER BUT I JUST WENT FOR A PHYSICAL LAST WEEK AND TO MAKE SURE MY KIDNEYS WERENT SWISS CHEESE BUT ANYWAY HE PUT ME BACK ON IT FOR MY BLOODPRESSURE AND THE RLS. NEVER HAD NO TROUBLE WITH BLOODPREESURE IT NOW THE PERCS WERE SPIKING MY LEVELS NOT GOOD! BUT CHECK FIRST WITH THE DR. BUT I HAVENT HAD A BAD NIGHT DUE TO RLS SINCE.

Clonidine definitely works but you will feel very tired at first.

chemical chills are pretty common, but get worse in the evening. Can this be from the Ambien that I have been taking to try to sign off to WDs. I quit the clonodine a week ago. Should I take it again (Bp is 128-145). Maybe I shouldn,t go on and off it. But thats why Im asking. Slightly labored breathing (not as bad as first 5 days) but sure make time go slowly. I take an ambien and go to sleep wake up in a few hours and do it 3 times total every night. have been taking Melatonin too.

I was on 10-15 7.5/325 hydros per day. Day 1 was rough, day 2 not great, today not great either, but tomorrow will start day 4. I'm just concerned about being in charge of 3 young children alone if it makes me really sleepy. My blood pressure was 122/84 at the Dr.'s office, so I am a little hesitant to lower it, but I will take it if it helps and doesn't cause any trouble. I only plan on a few days, tops. If at all. The cravings suck more than anything.

I have Clonidine for withdrawals how can it help. I am scared to death. Have never been in withdrawal from Opiates. I was told 36 hours prior but am so afraid of precipitated withdrawals. Has anyone been here that can give me some advice?

The Clonodine is good and will help keep you calmer and help with the blood pressure but check out the natural supplement amino protocol article and try some of the natural supplements. If you use them and take the Clonodine, it will be over in a few days. Methadone is a very strong opiate and should only be used for severe cases. It sounds like you do not have that bad of a habit and your detox should be short.

I just spoke with Steven and there is someone he works with sending clonidine home for us. I realize we should be under a dr.'s care but we aren't. 1. Can we both take it? 2. 1 per night, correct? Could we 1/2 one tonight, would that help? 3. Is there a reason we should not use this?

Clonidine was a life saver for me. In fact, I still use it today for fibromyalgia pain. Works wonders but be careful, it also lowers your blood pressure. Stick to the instructions.

I am getting ready to come off Hydrocodone. I've been on and off of it for 5 years, (5 knee surgeries) and I become dependent everytime! I just started it again 3 months ago, but the addiction seems worse this time. I used to be able to come off myself, but i'm noticing the withdraw symtoms just missing a dose are awful. I just moved to a small town, will find out today if there is a pain doc in town to help.
