Avatar f tn I have had an itchy anus and vagina for about a month, it doesn't seem to be getting better. I can't walk, I can't sleep and it hurts so much. I am currently taking dalacin clindamycin phosphate but it has not helped at all. What is this? What can I do?
Avatar n tn t want to scrub the area, use gentle fragrance free cleanser and gently wash the area. Scrubbing makes it worse. Here we have Accutane, clinidamycin topical, and other drugs. I also used neutorgena face wash then at bed salicylic acid gel or topical. You can use OXY 5 or 10 cream. I'm sure others will have plenty more to help you with. You can order on line except Accutane and Clindamycin require a prescription. There are some other new products I haven't tried.
Avatar m tn In the unfortunate event that you do not read Part 2, I should note I have applied Fluocinonide .05%, Permethrin 5% cream, and Clindamycin Phosphate 1% lotion with no success.) Two months ago an itch began on the interior of my left thigh while wearing compression shorts at the gym. (I understand sometimes information may lead a doctor in the wrong direction, but it's worth noting I workout 4 times a week, and sometimes I wear my gym clothes on back-to-back days.
Avatar f tn I was also given some topical treatments, including a benzoyl peroxide wash and ketoconazole shampoo (used a body wash) to alternate with every day, and clindamycin topical lotion which i did not see much improvement with. I even tried nasal mupiricin ointment because my doctor thought it was staph. I had a culture done and the results came back negative for s. aureus, beta-hemolytic streptococcus, and p. aeruginosa.
Avatar m tn I had a MRSA infection two months ago and was treated by a dermatologist and infectious disease doctor. The major symptoms went away like the boil I got, however I still get mild folliculitis on my face (one or two infected hairs). I've been applying topical clindamycin twice a day and cleaning my sheets and towels regularly but I still get some folliculitis. Is this normal and will it go away eventually?
Avatar n tn the treatment for it is a low level anti biotic over several months( 3-6 ), you can talk to a pharmacist on OTC meds but your better off with a prescription.
Avatar m tn Antibacterial wash such as hexachlorophene and topical antibiotics such as erythromycin or clindamycin may provide relief. You may also try the following- Apply a warm compress to the affected area several times a day, avoid shaving, use antibacterial soap and over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream. However, if severe (large area or multiple areas), your doctor may prescribe some oral antibiotics like cephalexin or erythromycin. Hope it helps.

Avatar m tn My 2 year old got a Stye last week and my husband took him to the Dr. He was prescribed Clindamycin. I tried salt water compressess and he wasn't too pleased with those, but it helped clean it up a bit. I purchased a small collar but he hates it and growls the whole time.
Avatar n tn I stopped using this and visited the same dermatologist, who confirmed that the condition was in fact perioral dermatitis. She prescribed clindamycin topical gel and 4 weeks of minocycline oral antibiotics. My face very quickly got much worse and I think it was because I immediately stopped the steroid ointment and my face, having become "addicted" to the steroid, reacted and many fluid filled bumps occurred on my chin and around my mouth.
Avatar m tn I am a male and in my teens and have Perioral dermatitis which I have read is uncommon, I know exactly how I got the skin condition from to much use of a Steroidal topical cream, I am now going through my second flare up - my last flare was about 2 years ago around this time, I think the flare up was caused by chlorinated water, which I read is not good for this condition I have been struggling to keep this condition under control and my treatment from my last time does not seem to be working, w
Avatar m tn I have 11 Cefprozil 500mg and 10 Clindamycin 150mg. Will these antibiotics help me? I've already begun drinking as much water as I can.
Avatar f tn I have been to a dermatologist last month and she simply said it is related to friction and moisture at the genital locations and prescribed me a clindamycin phosphate topical gel. Although I have used it regularly for a week, twice a day, the bumps are still there and didnt seem to heal. I was wondering what these bumps could be and what should be my next step to get rid of them. P.S. As I regularly get tested for panel STDs, I know that I am STD free..
309783 tn?1271958229 I don't think oral isotretinoin does anything to help superficial blood vessels. I'm not sure if it makes them worse, but it doesn't make them better. Take care. Dr.
Avatar n tn If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often. If the symptoms persist then topical antibiotics like Clindamycin may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case. I sincerely hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn Treatment is by topical antibiotics and steroids. Local antibiotics of erythromycin and Clindamycin group also help. Retenoid group of drugs also help. Wear loose fitting clothes. Get your diabetes status checked as high blood sugar can also cause recurrent boils. Consult a skin specialist. Also get a cxomplete STD panel done. Take care!
