Er doc gave me keflex. Took fir a day. Followed up with gp next day. Said i needed to be on clindamycin. On 4th day now of the clindamycin. Still swollen scrotum and pressure. Is clindimician effective against epidimitus?
Cephalexin (Keflex) is a good antibiotic as well. The similarity with penicillin is only important for people who are allergic to penicillin (as they will also be allergic to keflex). Personally, I would go with Azithromycin (or Clindamycin) if penicillin isn't working, but Cephalexin is different enough it might work. You can tell if its working if the pain/swelling go away in 4-5 days.

I was prescribed Vicodin and Clindamycin. I forgot to take the Climdamycin for the first two days, but picked it up immediately on day three. By the end of day three I found myself in EXCRUCIATING pain that 2 Vicodins couldn't ease and my face was still very swollen even after taking Clindamycin. I was so sick to my stomach due to the Clindamycin that I called my doctor to ask for something else less upsetting on day four. He prescribed Keflex instead.
Am now taking a 10 day round of both clindamycin and bactrum to treat it. Thing is, blood work I had 5 days ago when I got started taking my clindamycin and bactrum now shows that I have no signs of infection in my blood, from CBC to my C-Protein. The redness is not gone and will turn dark red before going back to a lighter shade when i move my toe around like when I am walking, but I have no other symptoms whatsoever, and I feel totally normal head to toe.
I followed up with him Today(Saturday) and he suggested me to go to ER. So I went to ER and the doctor prescribed Keflex and extracted the blister. Suggested to follow up with my doctor in 1 or 2 days. I don't think I can make an appointment within a week. They didn't do any lab test. Are there any lab tests to to verify it's cellulitis feet? I'm starting to get worried because seems the medicines don't help at all.

I was on Bacterium and Keflex too recently (luckily I wasn't allergic to them) and am still on an antifungal for my toe. It is like a cellulitis but it is due to a toe nail fungus which broke the skin because it was irregular and I bumped it. I still have a swolen toe but the pain is gone. It took the full two weeks of both drugs to get out of pain.
The bacteria will hurt you and baby a lot more than taking the anti biotics.
Your dr knows what anti biotics are ok to take during pregnancy:)
I had anti biotics for kidney infection, bladder infection, uti, and yeast infection. I had them all at once :( but I'm ok now i took keflex for them.
clindamycin to kill the infection before she could extract it in a few days. I know clindamycin is a top tier antibiotic. But I took it and the infection swelled and got more painful. After about 6/7 doses it swelled up so bad it looked like I had part of a baseball stuck in my jaw. And the pain got so much worse I took half of my weeks worth of Vicodin that night. It felt like my jaw was being torn apart with a hot poker.
t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.
Then he prescribed clidamycin/peroxide cream and a face wash, that only dry my skin and did not help at all. A second dermatologist prescribed some safe antibiotics (keflex 500 mg twice daily) and azaleic acid cream. I start taking this and it finally help with my terrible acne. I have acne in my back, face and chest. Some its really deep and leave marks everywhere. Go to a dermatologis, and try different treatments. Good luck!!!
Alternatively, you can take clindamycin for the bv and drink a boat load of cranberry juice for the UTI and water of course. It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.
has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects.
HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.

I had a prescription for Clindamycin with me and started taking that on the second day. The lump ruptured and drained. Returning home on the fifth day after beginning the antibiotic, I went to my periodontist for an assessment. An x-ray was made and the dentist said he could see nothing at all. Looking in my mouth at the rupture site, he couldn't see that either. He told me to finish the antibiotic and wait to see if it happened again.
Hi I Was Recently Sick and Had To Begin taking an antibiotic called Clindamycin. Will I Be Okay To Drink Alcohol While On This Medication. I Have Read That This Antibiotic Doesn't Have Any Negative Affects While Drinking Alcohol. But Just Wanted To Double Check.
heat bag extraorally, and warm salt water intraorally) may help reducing the severity and duration of the condition and i recommend that u stop the clindamycin as the course is usually only one week also,long duration of clindamycin usually causes git problems
Thanks for your reply. I have been tested for other STD's but I understand the blood & urine tests will not catch an oral infection. I'm fairly certain that is it pharyngeal gonorrhea. The thing I don't get there were no outward signs of gonorrhea like discharge from the penis and he didn't cum in my mouth. I've never let that happen. It seems my risk is fairly low but I don't understand why penicillin and Keflex aren't killing this bug.
I had an abscess on my gums. I started on keflex and scheduled a root canal ASAP. After the root canal and finishing the keflex the abscess was still there. My endontist downplayed it like it's no big deal but he drained the abcess and put me on clymdamycin. Finished all the clymdamycin and the abscess is still there. Endontist says it could take months to heal and sent me on my way. I feel like I need a second opinion. I still have a pea sized abscess on my gums idk what to do.
