617037 tn?1292263823 there are withdrawl symptoms showed in babies at birth such as trembling and crying but no permanent harm. i typed in risperidone and pregnancy in my search bar and some info is available. i have a 4 month old daughter, very healthy and happy, i took paxil for the first trimester but discontinued because there are health risks to the fetus, tried to go without medication for a while and found i was getting too depressed to eat well or make it to doctors appointments.
Avatar n tn I am prescribed citalopram for depression and risperidone as a sleep aid. Does this sound a good prescription? Was on fluoxetine and amitriptaline but had frequent night sweats.
990744 tn?1249285599 My fiance and I are trying for a baby. I am on 20 mgs of Citalopram and 3 mgs of Risperidone. Is this an okay dosage to be on while you are pregnant? I read it is okay but to watch for neonatal side effects, which are quite scary and seem traumitising for the child. If I get my citalopram perscription reduced will it still have neo natal effects on our baby?

Avatar m tn Hi. The two subject's of the benzos and siezures are not related but i thought id throw them in there.
1101972 tn?1267820929 Missed my appointment in the morning (overslept) but made another one this afternoon. HIV and syphilis tests clear. Got prescriptions for citalopram, risperidone and mefenamic acid. Going to Voodoo tonight with friends, will be drinking and won't be sleeping until around 7am but not doing anything tomorrow so I should be able to combat any drop in mood. Diet still going well - lost 1lb so far (six days in).
1625195 tn?1332182262 And the nausea is making day to day tasks harder than the depression was making things. And this is the last round of questions, promise! Its about the Citalopram/Celexa. There is a suit going against Celexa. Since I'm taking the substitute, do I have anything to worry about when it comes to the dangers of taking Celexa? Help would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar n tn Please do not stop Risperidone cold turkey. Please remain at the dose he is taking for next 2 weeks and see his Psychiatrist and she will taper it down or replace it with a medication called Clozaril if it is Tardive. Most likely it could be a temporary movement disorder called Akithisia which will go away once Risdone is stopped.Stopping Risperidone cold turkey can provoke an awful withdrawal syndrome or return of original symptoms so wait till you see his new doc.
Avatar m tn I can still remember the day my dad died and it was terrible. He was shot 10 times before he gave up and laid down for eternal rest. What i am saying is that it is normal to think about bad things. You can come talk to me about them at ***@****.
Avatar m tn i have been treated with citalopram , zoloft but these didint help me just made my insomnia and my motivation worse.even i tried to be treated with risperidone but i quiet it after my first dose because of terrible side effects ( couldnt think at all and couldnt stop walking - akathsia ).Then i stopped going to psychiatrist and i abused XANAX about three years ( i have ignored the fact of addiction because at that time i didnt know anything about the neurotransmitter theory).

Avatar f tn I presume you need a doctor not this forum to advise you or inform you properly of the relation between celexa/citalopram or topamax to blood clots. the 1st is an antidepressant and most of them are known to cause blood thinning this is why taking it with aspirin another blood thinner may cause bleeding.
Avatar n tn I was wondering where the best place for me would be to find a complete list of medicines I should stay away from with Long QT syndrome. I have a list but it is over 5 years old, and I am in need of a new one! Thank You!
574118 tn?1305138884 It sounds like your bipolar disorder was perhaps in its fledgling stages and now it's finally caught up with you which you could have been potentially BP1 all this time as you say and it just wasn't full blown yet the truth is i had very mild symptoms and my drugs were minimal 1mg risperidone. But because my stupid or malicious or whatever put me on an AD alone once and i was driven manic, then things changed completely i.e. i had depression (like before) and manias from time to time.
Avatar f tn Now, after again trying behavior management techniques without meds, we are dealing with a son who is bigger, stronger and more aggressive, who has physically assaulted both parents, broken windows, damaged the car, torn up important papers, and goes off on rages of profanity and spitting in our faces. Note, he is known to other adults, including teachers, as smart, funny, original, "spirited" but not a problem!
Avatar m tn In fact in our religion and I suppose in all religions they ask the believers to control their temper and they are rewarded. On the contrary if you have a history of bipolarity, then you should be taking your meds regularly. NO joke about that. The question is not whether it happened before to us, but more imporetant whether it can happen to you later. This time you broke something, next time it may get worse.
Avatar f tn It would be interesting to find out how many people are on more than one medication for their mental health. I am currently on 3 medications, Depakote and Lithium for my BP and Zopiclone to aid sleep. I realise this is a very basic poll as it does not show how many different types of mental health problems are being experienced but depending on the response this could lead to a further poll about diagnosis etc.
Avatar m tn I've been to many doctors and everything is Ok .
Avatar f tn I saw one for social anxiety disorder. My old doctor put me on citalopram and I hated it. It basically did not help at all and gave me a bunch of side effects. I had ejaculation problems and horrible insomnia. I am very weary about staring a new medicine for my anxiety but I have to due something. He put me on zoloft and I am very nervous about all of the side effects listed on the drug package. I am a chef and very active during the day and can not be tired all of the time.
574118 tn?1305138884 Since being on MS (I cannot tolerate anti-psychotics) I have only tried one SSRI and that was citalopram, this worked for a very short time before my depression hit again despite the maximum dose.
Avatar n tn Medical examiner ruled his death as morbidly obese and cardiomyopathy. Here is list of perscribed meds the Dr's had him on over the last 1 1/2 1. Alprazolam (xanax) antianxiety 2. 885719 tn?1240857194 Now I'm taking risperidone 1mg, citalopram 10mg, and clonazepam .5mg. They seem to be helping. I am able to work out and do cardio at the gym with no issues of chest pain or anxiety. Good Luck guys...
577132 tn?1314270126 ) Again, he's leaving it up to me to decipher when I've crossed the line and I have an AD on standby, citalopram. Unless it gets to the point that I'm not functioning well, I won't use them. I read the insert and it tells me they'll make me drowsy, etc....as if I need more of that. For me, I'll take them when I need the extra help and I don't right now, I'm using alternate coping strategies and toughing it out on the bad days until those things are insufficient...
544292 tn?1268886268 D I just love you guys! Such honesty and kindness and willingness to help. It's such a blessing! I think this place attracts some of the most intelligent and caring people in the world. So gratifying. I haven't posted for a very long time ... but I will always keep this thread going. I remember so well the desperation I had to hear from anyone ... anyone about how they got off. Now there's years worth of posts from people round the world who kicked Tram.
Avatar f tn As my father got older, he seemed to get worse, and worse (he wasn't diagnosed or medicated), and I just wonder what it's going to be like as I get older. What does my family and friends have to "look forward to"? I know we can get "stable", but does it continue to get worse? Also, I have a history of dimentia in my family - I wonder if it's linked? Thoughts???
