Avatar m tn I think I ruptured my eardrum pushing screwdriver too deep, ear bleeding for about 5 minutes, then stopped, after a week there is no symptoms of ruptured eardrum, should I see doctor? I really worry about it.
Avatar n tn Eardrum ruptures are not common with simple infections. However if an eardrum has broken or ruptured, they heal slowly on their own. there is no surgical correction. a simple exam by your vet will determine the situation very quickly.
Avatar f tn I just had tubes put in both ears 6 days ago. I got the flu and had both ears infected. The pressure and pain is gone, but now I'm talks by ina tunnel and my hearing is diminished. I think I'm draining, because when I use my ciprodex drops...I swear I taste it in the back of my throat. How lucky big is this gonna last? Will my hearing go back to normal? Will the tunnel in my head stop?
Avatar n tn My eardrum ruptured 6 days ago from a strep bacteria. Before that I had been dealing with sinus congestion/infection for 3 weeks. I thought it was getting better but must have been congested enough to hold the strep bacteria in without letting it drain. The ENT Dr. said there must have been so much pressure and fluid built up behind my eardrum and couldn't get out so it ruptured my eardrum. I was in excruciating pain for about 2-3 days after it ruptured.
Avatar f tn If an eardrum damage happens, can an ent see the damage even one week later?
Avatar m tn I still have inner ear pain, accompanied with itching on and off, sometimes in Eustachian tube. I dont think it is ruptured eardrum ,as there has been no drainage att all on my pillows, and when i yawn and lightly blow, my eardrums expand out with the increase in pressure... wouldnt this not happen if there was a hole?
534854 tn?1234076108 I assumed my eardrum ruptured. After returning home I still had the same pain along with the other same symptoms and I've heard that the ear pain should subside once the eardrum ruptured. So I went to the doctor about three weeks later and he looked at my ear and saw nothing that would suggest that my eardrum had indeed ruptured. I wondered if anyone would have an idea what happened to make my ear bleed? Thanks, and sorry so long.
19681496 tn?1482424837 Perhaps while trying to grab a piece of hardened earwax it cut your eardrum or caused some other damage. A ruptured eardrum will heal on it's own within a couple months, but be careful about inner ear infections as the eardrum acts as a barrier.
1154548 tn?1262213018 If a dog as an external ear infection (in the canals to the outside of the eardrum, again the middle and inner ear are not necessarily affected. If the ear drum ("tympanic membrane") is ruptured, then by definition if the external canal is inflamed or infected then so is the middle ear csvity. That cavity is not supposed to be exposed to the outside through the ear canal.
Avatar f tn And wouldn’t I need surgary? Also, wouldn’t it have been dangerous to irrigate an ear with a ruptured eardrum?
Avatar m tn Hey! So this all started about two months ago when I decided it would be a good idea to self-irrigate my ear after experiencing a lot of wax. I got a syringe and some warm water and just started blasting into my right ear canal. It didn't end up being successful as the wax never actually did come out, but I then started having earaches that have never fully healed. I've been to the doctor 4 times since then.

Avatar m tn On Monday morning I woke with an ear infection. I went to the doctor right away and was given Otic Edge, told to continue an antibiotic I was already on, to call if it wasn't felling better in a couple of days, and to schedule a recheck for a week later. Thursday, my ear still felt plugged, I was getting sharp pains, and ringing so I went back to the doctor. He said that there is alot of drainage in there and it kinda looked like swimmer's ear.

Avatar n tn 00 PM. (My left eardrum ruptured around this time last year.) It is very difficult to hear above the ringing in both ears and, despite the fact I am on medication (antibiotics, hear drops, nasal spray, pain relievers), my hearing seems to be getting worse. Should I just be patient and toughen it out for the next two months, or should I see a ENT doctor?

1759659 tn?1312975493 Sounds like a ruptured eardrum or an eardrum that is going to rupture.
Avatar m tn My problem started with the constant blowing of my nose. My ear became infected and it started to hurt. A day after i noticed the infection, while i slept, it really hurt one night and blood started to come out. I believe at this point my eardrum was ruptured and I couldn't hear as well since, .like an echo or sometimes a beeping or ringing sound. Will it heal itself and will I regain my hearing as it used to be?
Avatar f tn I have had 2 ruptured eardrums in the past 2 years. They come on without any warning. I have had dozens of earaches since I was a child-----Now I no longer get ear aches really--- they have taken a turn--they simply go into a rupture without any warning. I am 50 years old . I had impacted wisdom teeth in my early twenties---they were removed----could some of the fluid still be in my jaw bone---I have very tight jaws that are getting worse all the time.

Avatar m tn My jaw has been hurting along with my pain in my ear could he have ruptured something in my ear, I have been very tired also not normal for me I do have an anxiety disorder but I know this is not all in my head.. So whats the chance he could rupture something? Should I go to dr?
Avatar m tn and now its been 2 weeks since he have this ruptured eardrum...i hope its going to heal very soon..as of now he dont complain about his ear i hope he continue like that...
Avatar f tn My eardrum was recently punctured due to a forceful irrigation in the doctor's office. His treatment includes my irrigating the ear once a day with peroxide and then a mixture of alcohol and vinegar. When I complained to him that it hurt if I did it with any force, he told me that was okay and I should "taste" it. All other info I read says that if one has a perforated eardrum, you should keep the ear canal dry. Do I need to get a second opinion? I would appreciate any advice.
5973125 tn?1378575863 The common cause of ear pain is a buildup of ear wax .Other causes of ear pain are ear discharge or a ruptured eardrum. Minor pain can be relieved with over-the-counter painkillers and cleaning out the ear. If there is any discharge from the ear or fever there are chances that you have an ear infection. For more queries and assistance consult an ENT surgeon. I hope it helps. Best wishes and regards!
