Ciprodex ear tubes

Common Questions and Answers about Ciprodex ear tubes

ciprodex

Avatar f tn It usually does take some time to get better but hopefully you are on the road to recovery. Now that you have tubes in your ears be extra careful not to get water in your ears when you shower and it's best not to submerge your whole head in a pool or jacuzzi because that can cause another infection.I noticed your other post about the circle. My husband hasn't had any problem with dry mouth he just hates the taste of it when it drains down his throat.
93654 tn?1247499334 My understanding is that ciprodex is an ear drop so you definitely need to stop using it in the eye. It may have a different pH than eye drops and might cause significant irritation - but not usually a major problem. Please have your doctor make you an appointment with an ophthalmologist and explain to the primary care docor that the ciprodex drops are not for the eye.
Avatar n tn Ent relented and gave me Ciprodex ear drops. Began using 3 daya ago, they seem to help, especially first 2days, but the antibiotics I was on at the time, the prescribed term to use them was up! Now the drops don't seem as effective??? In the interim saw my family doctor, she looked in both ears, said the one ear, ear dum is clear, like saran wrap, the ear that I'm having the problem with, she said looks pink and thicker, she didn't seem to have an answer!!! Any ideas???
Avatar n tn Excellent advice, merceditas. Ciprodex otic is an antibiotic ear drop that combines the antibiotic ciprofloxacin with the glucocorticoid steroid dexamethasone. While both of these things are safe to use on a dog, human-strength drugs are often too strong to be used on our much-smaller four-legged companions, and what starts out as a well-meaning gesture quickly turns into a medical emergency far bigger than the original problem.
Avatar m tn Good to see you are improving. Try to keep the ear dry. To ease ear pain, apply a warm washcloth or a heating pad set on low. Follow the instructions for ear drops and complete your antibiotic course. You can use OTC Acetaminophen also for relief from pain. And Good Luck with your surgery. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Hey! So this all started about two months ago when I decided it would be a good idea to self-irrigate my ear after experiencing a lot of wax. I got a syringe and some warm water and just started blasting into my right ear canal. It didn't end up being successful as the wax never actually did come out, but I then started having earaches that have never fully healed. I've been to the doctor 4 times since then.
Avatar m tn s/lupus trigered by ear infection 2)adverse reaction to ciprodex since i might have overdosed 3) rheumatic fever since my ear infection was lingering for a couple of months until it was fully cured? which one is more likely? I am dying. I am thinking about getting something to take and die. I live in Canada and here it takes months until you see a specialist. I have an appointment with a rhematologist in a couple of months. I just cant take it anymore. please help me.
Avatar m tn Left eyelid started twitching few days after ear infection/CiproDex treatment. Gradually, I started having tingling in my legs. Also had three panic attacks with heart beat +180 bpm. diagnosed with borderline hyperthyroidism (TSH 0.32 and FT4 24) and all symptoms were attributed to thyroid problem. The thyroid is back to normal now without any thyroid meds.

1899725 tn?1321500363 My 8 year son has had an ear infection for 5 weeks now. We've gone through a course of Ciprodex otic drops and a course of Neomycin/Polymyxin B ear drops. He's also been on Keflex and Augmentin. The doctor keeps telling me it's "swimmer's ear" or "just an ear infection" and should go away soon. 5 weeks of dealing with my child hurting is not soon enough. I'm actually a pediatic RN and know that this is not normal.

Avatar f tn No I have ear tubes put in my ears back in Aug.
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. When you dive the atmospheric pressure is different, so the variations can affect the middle ear, especially if you dive very fast, it does not give time for the pressure to equalize. There are tubes called 'Eustachian tubes' which connect the middle ear to the throat, this balances the air pressure in the ears.
Avatar f tn When the aircraft descends, atmospheric pressure increases and there is a decrease in the middle ear pressure. Either situation may cause ear pain if the Eustachian tube is not functioning properly. Treatment includes oral decongestants, antihisaminics like benadryl and Claritin or zyrtec and steroids. Your doctor is giving you the right treatment.Adhere to it and you will feel fine. Do keep us posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I'm an adult and recently had tubes put in. My ear pressure was 170%. I think one of my tubes must of fallen out because of how one ear feels differently. How can I tell? What symptoms would I have?
Avatar n tn I just got my ear tubes removed on the 7th,so far, happy that they are out, the ear tubes did leave holes in my ear drums, but ENT cover them with thin patches, which will help with healing of the holes to close.
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. There are tubes called 'Eustachian tubes' which connect the middle ear to the throat, this balances the air pressure in the ears. This tube can get blocked due to infections/inflammations of the throat, which can give lead to a feeling of fullness in the ears. The tubes may open up with changes in posture. Decongestants, antihistamines, or a steroid nasal spray help to open up the tubes. The tubes can also be blocked in Eustachian tubes dysfunction.
