Ciprodex and ear tubes

Common Questions and Answers about Ciprodex and ear tubes

ciprodex

Avatar f tn If you keep using the ciprodex and gently blow to loosen the debris hopefully it will flow out thru your EustacIan tube and alleviate the tunnel sound. My husband has experienced the same problems and they have improved over time but you have to keep working at it. We aren't doctors but my husband has been thru it so hopefully this will help.
93654 tn?1247499334 My understanding is that ciprodex is an ear drop so you definitely need to stop using it in the eye. It may have a different pH than eye drops and might cause significant irritation - but not usually a major problem. Please have your doctor make you an appointment with an ophthalmologist and explain to the primary care docor that the ciprodex drops are not for the eye.
Avatar n tn Ent relented and gave me Ciprodex ear drops. Began using 3 daya ago, they seem to help, especially first 2days, but the antibiotics I was on at the time, the prescribed term to use them was up! Now the drops don't seem as effective??? In the interim saw my family doctor, she looked in both ears, said the one ear, ear dum is clear, like saran wrap, the ear that I'm having the problem with, she said looks pink and thicker, she didn't seem to have an answer!!! Any ideas???
Avatar n tn If the vet said you should use it then yes, but even when you apply it in the ear it's absorbed and reachs the blood. I'd say wait and ask the vet, maybe just one drop has more drug that your dog can take...just call him on the phone and ask, it's better than spending more money if it happens to be bad for the dog!
Avatar m tn So this all started about two months ago when I decided it would be a good idea to self-irrigate my ear after experiencing a lot of wax. I got a syringe and some warm water and just started blasting into my right ear canal. It didn't end up being successful as the wax never actually did come out, but I then started having earaches that have never fully healed. I've been to the doctor 4 times since then.
Avatar m tn Could have something to do with Lupus or other autoimmune since it runs in your family, it takes a long time to diagnose though, and to rule out other stuff. Even with neg ANA it can't be ruled out, next time it very well may be positive. I have heard of people having ear infections, or infected tooth and it infect the ear. The problem is...what's the closest, and the next stop for an infection after the ear??? your brain!!! Are they sure they got rid of all your infection???
Avatar m tn s/lupus trigered by ear infection 2)adverse reaction to ciprodex since i might have overdosed 3) rheumatic fever since my ear infection was lingering for a couple of months until it was fully cured? which one is more likely? I am dying. I am thinking about getting something to take and die. I live in Canada and here it takes months until you see a specialist. I have an appointment with a rhematologist in a couple of months. I just cant take it anymore.
1899725 tn?1321500363 My 8 year son has had an ear infection for 5 weeks now. We've gone through a course of Ciprodex otic drops and a course of Neomycin/Polymyxin B ear drops. He's also been on Keflex and Augmentin. The doctor keeps telling me it's "swimmer's ear" or "just an ear infection" and should go away soon. 5 weeks of dealing with my child hurting is not soon enough. I'm actually a pediatic RN and know that this is not normal.
Avatar m tn Gently rinse the ear using a bulb syringe and warm saline solution. To ease ear pain, apply a warm washcloth or a heating pad set on low. Follow the instructions for ear drops and complete your antibiotic course. You can use OTC Acetaminophen also for relief from pain. However, if symptoms worsen, consult your doctor. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
736293 tn?1316517842 Hi everyone - So Kyra has been battling constant ear infection since last fall, we are on #7 since Thanksgiving, and we are going to see an audiologist and the ear, nose and throat Dr. tomorrow. This is just a consultation, but her pediatrician thinks it is time to do tubes. Have any of you had to deal with this, if so what should I expect of the whole expirience? Even though it is a simple surgery I am still a little worried about it.
Avatar f tn My 3 year old has ear tubes. She has been having pain in her right ear today and last night. I looked in them with an otoscope and she has a lot of hard crystallized looking build up that wasn't there 3 days ago. I was able to clear some of it out with a q tip and she is still complaining that it hurts and holding it. Her tube is still in place but it has some fluid behind it. What should I do?
Avatar f tn I have been sneezing and stuffy nose 5 weeks now. I have also had my left ear go out, meaning I can no longer hear in my left ear. I have tried Claritin, Benydryl, I have used ERO ear wax removal for the ear but it is still "blocked" and I can't stop sneezing and watery eyes, and runny nose and stuffy nose no matter what medication I take. Help, It's been 5 WEEKS not stop of this!!!
200828 tn?1209917975 Hi, I think you mean tubes for ear infections. I have professional and personal experience. Personally my daughter had them to help with chronic ear infections that wouldn't clear up with antibiotics. They worked wonderfully and luckily stayed in for 18 months. My doctor told us not to worry about water in her ears unless it was lake or ocean water. Professionally, I'm a speech therapist.
Avatar f tn No I have ear tubes put in my ears back in Aug.
Avatar n tn and now I am having pain and swelling slight behind the ear and in the jaw area.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately since you exposed yourself to loud music, and caused damage to your ear, the rining is most likely permanent and unrelated to your other symptoms. It can be affected by the other symptoms in small ways. I know my ringing is "quieter" when my ears are more congested. I will say that my ENT is baffled by the ringing in my ears since I have no hearing loss at all and he says that the ETD should not cause the ringing.
Avatar m tn I think myself it is fluid in the middle ear as it feels like ive got water in my ears( right ear much worse than left) and sometimes in bed at night i get a noise mainly in my right ear making a loud swishing noise as if fluid is running round in my ear, But he said theres no fluid in them as it would have come up in the pressure test.
Avatar f tn What are vent tubes and how long do vent tubes last? Have you heard of stenting your tubes? I did get my ear drained by an ENT Doctor. Thank you for your time.
Avatar n tn Sometimes when I have slept for long on my right side, the ear pains and feels as if swollen from inside and it pains to touch there. Ear problem started after I took medicines for scabies. I want to get rid of these 2 problems first. Sneezing and ears heaviness. Plz help!
Avatar n tn I have swimmer's ear and went to see the doctor. The doctor gave me some antibotics and now my ear seems to pops every few minutes. Is that normal?
Avatar f tn Hello and hope you are doing well. Looks like you have developed a sinus infection which has progressed to a throat infection as well. Sinus infections cause headaches. There are tubes called 'Eustachian tubes' which connect the middle ear to the throat, this balances the air pressure in the ears. This tube can get blocked due to infections of the throat, which can give lead to a feeling of fullness in the ears and the pain. This can also result in infection of the ears.
