ciprodex and swimmers ear

My understanding is that ciprodex is an ear drop so you definitely need to stop using it in the eye. It may have a different pH than eye drops and might cause significant irritation - but not usually a major problem. Please have your doctor make you an appointment with an ophthalmologist and explain to the primary care docor that the ciprodex drops are not for the eye.

If the vet said you should use it then yes, but even when you apply it in the ear it's absorbed and reachs the blood. I'd say wait and ask the vet, maybe just one drop has more drug that your dog can take...just call him on the phone and ask, it's better than spending more money if it happens to be bad for the dog!

If you keep using the ciprodex and gently blow to loosen the debris hopefully it will flow out thru your EustacIan tube and alleviate the tunnel sound. My husband has experienced the same problems and they have improved over time but you have to keep working at it. We aren't doctors but my husband has been thru it so hopefully this will help.

So this all started about two months ago when I decided it would be a good idea to self-irrigate my ear after experiencing a lot of wax. I got a syringe and some warm water and just started blasting into my right ear canal. It didn't end up being successful as the wax never actually did come out, but I then started having earaches that have never fully healed. I've been to the doctor 4 times since then.

I am using swim sport drops for swimmers ears to dry out the water,but the ear drums only open when i put my finger in the ear and touch my eardrums, then after 30 seconds it closes again. I can hear but not so good. My eardrums do still feel wet. Is it normal that the ears have not returned to normal after 2 weeks. How long does it normally take for swimmers ears.What advice do you have as well. Regards.

Could have something to do with Lupus or other autoimmune since it runs in your family, it takes a long time to diagnose though, and to rule out other stuff. Even with neg ANA it can't be ruled out, next time it very well may be positive. I have heard of people having ear infections, or infected tooth and it infect the ear. The problem is...what's the closest, and the next stop for an infection after the ear??? your brain!!! Are they sure they got rid of all your infection???

big difference between swimmers ear and herpes. swimmers ear is just a bacterial infection of the outer ear.

s/lupus trigered by ear infection 2)adverse reaction to ciprodex since i might have overdosed 3) rheumatic fever since my ear infection was lingering for a couple of months until it was fully cured? which one is more likely? I am dying. I am thinking about getting something to take and die. I live in Canada and here it takes months until you see a specialist. My 8 year son has had an ear infection for 5 weeks now. We've gone through a course of Ciprodex otic drops and a course of Neomycin/Polymyxin B ear drops. He's also been on Keflex and Augmentin. The doctor keeps telling me it's "swimmer's ear" or "just an ear infection" and should go away soon. 5 weeks of dealing with my child hurting is not soon enough. I'm actually a pediatic RN and know that this is not normal.

Follow the instructions for ear drops and complete your antibiotic course. You can use OTC Acetaminophen also for relief from pain. However, if symptoms worsen, consult your doctor. They said that I have a ear infection. They gave me antibiotics an ear drops that are used for swimmers ear. I could not buy the other ear drops that they gave me. Medicaid would not cover it so it was $173.76. The pain was horrible last night. I took some tylenal an it helped a little. Dose any one know of any thing that I can take. Fluid behind the ear is secondary to infection in the throat or nose which can cause a backwater effect and block a tube called eustachian tube (which has easy access to ear, nose and throat and lies at the back of the nose) and thereby leads to absorption of air in the middle ear and it is replaced by a sterile fluid in the middle ear.If your ear drum is intact, then the two infections are not related to one incident.

My Son Lives in Milton Keynes, could be sinus trouble or an allergy, Make sure your ear is dried well after Showering or swimming , there is something called swimmers ear can make them itchy, go online and see you can get some drops in the Drugstore for that.Could be linked to the taste in the throat, get the Doc to check it out.

Hey Ladies, so this weekend my 10 year old daughter, my DH and I went on vacation. It was really nice because as most of you know DH and I are seperated and working things out at the moment (as most of you know), but it was nice to be together as a whole family again. Anyhoo we did a lot of walking and my back was and has been killing me, and we also did a lot of swimming.

Ent relented and gave me Ciprodex ear drops. Began using 3 daya ago, they seem to help, especially first 2days, but the antibiotics I was on at the time, the prescribed term to use them was up! Now the drops don't seem as effective??? In the interim saw my family doctor, she looked in both ears, said the one ear, ear dum is clear, like saran wrap, the ear that I'm having the problem with, she said looks pink and thicker, she didn't seem to have an answer!!! Any ideas???

last night i was experiencing what seemed to feel like swimmers ear on the right side, and when i woke up i still have ear pain but when i ran my fingers through the top right of my hair my scalp felt like some one was pulling on my hair on this one small spot. would my ear pain be triggering this?
