My care is currently through my Family Doctor. My last two HA1C tests were 7.2 and 7.4, and creatinine was 1.1. I am taking Metformin XR, 1 gm twice a day, total of 2 grams (four 500 mg tablets). I take 1 gram in the morning and 1 at night. My blood sugars tend to run high in the morning and decrease during the day. I took 200mg doxycyline ando 500 MG azythromicin. I had a genersl urine test done on monday. It came out clean. That same Say I took 1000 MG Cipro, which I repeated today. I don't have other symptoms, just they pain. Could it just be anxiety? What std could I have? What should I do now? The pain is still there. Thanks.
A couple of months ago, I was misdiagnosed with a urinary tract infection and was put on 2 weeks of cipro, 1000 mg a day. During my time on cipro, I noticed an intense stomach gurgling that would sometimes persist for hours. I didn't think much of it at the time though. Since coming off of the cipro, I have had abdominal pain, sometimes in the lower left abdomen and sometimes in the lower right abdomen.

I was diagnosed with tendinitis and given Voltaren-XR and Percocet. For the 1st 2 days the pain got better and at one point on the 4th day I forgot I was hurt. The next day I felt some discomfort but went away after a walk. I decided to ride my mountain bike for some cardio. I noticed some pain but not to much just discomfort. That night the pain was horrible again and was out of Percocet. I then called the Orthopedic and told him I needed some more pain medication to be able to sleep at night.
I read here all the time, but today I have a question. I have sinus infection and the doc has me on 1000 mg of Cipro (antibiotic) and a script nasal spray. I am also taking 1000 mg of Riba along with my injection of 135 µ of Pegetron. Now to add to this I’m on 10 mg of Citolpram (anti-d) and ½ sleeping tablet (3.5 mg), Zopiclone.
My liver biopsy was very good prior to tx.

Took Azitromax 1000 mg and later Cipro 1000 mg ( not tested). Also tried Valtrex 7 days with no change in symptoms Daily symptoms up til today, tender and slightly swollen meatus, utethral discomfort/ slight pain. No apparent blisters or ulcers, no discharge, normal lymphnodes. Last 4-6 weeks pinprick pain in legs, feet, nates and hands.Tested at 2 weeks: hiv, chlam, syf, mycopl, urine, hematology- all normal. At 4 weeks Gon and Hsv combo- negative. 6 weeks utethral smear- normal.
Anyway, I called my dr and told the story, he called me in a script of Azthromiacin 4 pills totaling 1000 mg (take all at once) and put me on 1000 mg daily of cipro for 2 weeks... (This is before any testing btw) VERY STUPID ON MY PART... so, I waited either 1 or at most two days and then got tested for gonnoria, chlamidia, hsv2, syphillis and HIV. All negative. These test were done about 12 days post exposure.
Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Also, I am being treated with Cipro, which I just took a round of that for a UT about 2.5 months ago. Should I be repeating the same antibotic so soon, and will it be as effective if I do.
I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face.
I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.

I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives.
From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
Yes Cipro can definately cause rythm issues. I cant remember where I read this but my doctor was going to give it to me until I showed him the info (that he did not have himself). So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there.
is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
The pain started after I had sex with the one that was tested and I was given Cipro (sometimes I took it once a day and sometimes twice), Bactrim (again taken inconsistently like the Cipro), and now I am almost finished with Levaquin (taken faithfully). I had really bad urinary pain and they said I do not have bacteria in my urine (which is prob masked) and asked about STDs. I have a yeast infection from the antibiotics and am taking antifungal meds now and feel a little better.
I am taking effexor XR, 75 mg, once daily. Other than that, I take a multi-vitamin, extra vit-c, citri-cal calcium, vit-b, omegas, glucosamine and condritin, and an herbal remedy for ovairian cysts called DonQui. I sometimes also take white willow bark for pain, either in capsul form or as a hot tea beverage.
I had one on my penis glans that showed up about a week or so after unprotected oral. I took Cipro for 14 days (prior to testing)12 days post exposure and have read on CDC and Mayo Clinic website that Chemo therapy drugs (cipro is also a chemo drug) can cause false negative HIV results and can also delay symptoms of syphillis. It's been almost 4 months since this happened and I'm not getting any better.
