The CT scan showed an inflamed kidney. The doctor now believes a kidney infection and has prescribed cipro and Tylenol and Ibuprofen for pain. After 5 days, the pain (while not constant) has not diminished. He often has the chills and a fever that runs 2-3 degrees above normal. One other (possibly not related) issue is that his pain is usually most significant early morning (possibly due to 8 hours of sleep with no tylenol/ibuprofen).
it feels like somebody is tugging at my epididymis and the pain radiates up to my stomach and down to my knee. these symptoms only happen on the left side but the testicular pain is in both testicles but never both at the same time, it will swap throughout the day, usually a few hours on each side but it is constantly there.
i went to my GP who said it was epididymitis and gave me Cipro for a week. this did not help so i had an ultrasound and CT scan which showed nothing.
Do cipro cause vaginal discharge and oder and disconfort in my stomach and back and sluggishness?

Cipro has a lot of side effects. Have you looked them up? I am not saying come off it but what you are experiencing could be from that. It stays in your system long after you take it. Are you still taking pain meds? I can't remember if Cipro causes constipation but pain meds do for sure. Are you taking any stool softeners to help? Ginger or peppermint tea help a lot with bloating as well as a heating blanket.
When you mean blocked do you mean constipated blocked?

Symptoms:
I started developing pain in my left testicle, left buttock and complete left leg. Pain in both sides of groin, but no swelling. There is tenderness as well pain on penis and testicle. I din't have any outbreaks, sores or lesions so far in all these months. However I had swelling and pain in my left knee and bone, and it is still persists continuously. If I touch the bone on the side of my knee or knee cap, it is paining.
If I do decide to go with the Cipro, does that mean double the pain for my knees, since some Zithromax could still be in my body tissues. While I'm concerned about the knee pain, I'm more concerned about my knees' well being in the future. Is Cipro a wise choice given that it is an antibiotic like Zithromax and might inflame my knees further?
I took Cipro twice in 2009, I had rash, itchy and after that I had thighs,legs and buttocks pain with nerve pain. Is that possible from Cipro ? I'm still getting the nerve and legs pain.
I had xray,hiv, herpes, stds and nerve test all came back normal.

After day 9 the pain was unbearable so I stopped and three days later went to the ER for treatment, I told them I had a bad reaction to the Cipro so they changed my prescription to Bactrim which almost immediately dropped my pain level from a level of 8 to a 2 on a 1-10 scale. I’m still experiencing some pain daily and I’m wondering if it’s the Cipro still affecting my body or is it is it something else?
I also have very brisk reflexes in both kness according to my neurologist). I now also have burning/freezing pain in both legs that is sometimes unbearable (especially at nights) as well as body-wide twitching (suprisingly except my eyelids)
1- I have read that Cipro can have peripheral neuropathy, panic attacks and twitching as side effect that can start even months after discontinuation of medication.
Then I began feeling back pain, lower abdominal pain, groin pain, and leg pain. I may have a slightly inflamed lymph gland in my leg. My wife went to her ob/gyn and was diagnosed with a yeast infection which quickly cleared up after taking diflucan. About 12 days after first appearing the patches have pretty much cleared up after a little bit of dryness and flaking skin. They just look like areas of thin skin now, a little shiny but mostly unnoticeable.
My husband was on a long-term course of cipro for prostatitis. After three weeks, he developed stomach aches and pains and the doctor told him to stop. Unfortunately he also developed the types of pains and muscle weakness you are describing. This was in January and it has been a year without it going away. Urologist visit negative for any other issues other than UTI - remain on medication and return in 6 wks if pain continues. GYN visit negative for any issues. Pain subsided 5th day on Cipro, but returned on 8th day. Currently on the 9th day of medication. New symptom - throwing up on the 7th, 8th and 9th day.
The mild pain was still there, so I went back and he did a exam of my testicles and said everything seem fine but he gave me a proscription for Cipro to take if the pain did not go away in a few days. Now I am taking Cipro and it has only been a four days and the mild pain is still there. The pain is so mild that I have to think about it for me to notice it, or I have rub my testicles to notice it. By no means are they tender to touch! How long does it take Cipro to work?
Went to ER a few days later with pain in the penile shaft and glans. Examined by ER doctor and put on 10 days cipro and 1 dose cefixime. Went back to doctor, put me on 21 days sulfatrim for suspected Epidimitis-ochitis and ordered US. US didn't show Epidimitis-ochitis. Went back to ER, doctor put me on 30 day Cipro. Pain is focused in the glans and reverberates down the shaft, the glans appears bigger than it used( be or perhaps the shaft is smaller than it used).
For a little more than two weeks, I have noticed mild pain on the right side of my penis (penile head), urge to urinate, and mild burning around the anus. The pain is not sensitive to the touch. Six months ago, I had a full STI test, including HSV 1 and 2, everything was negative. About a month ago, I received oral sex. That's the only sexual activity I've had. I was prescribed bactrim from a family member who's a doctor, the pills made me very sick, so I stopped after three doses.
but my symptoms were not gone, after a month i felt abit better but symptoms were urethral pain, testicular pain, knee and ankle pain, dry cough and itchy lungs, extreme pressure in head above ears, headache, fatigue. all stds and cultures came negative even after 5 months except semen culture which showed staphylococcus aureus resistant to almost all antibiotics except vancomycin.
Left eyelid started twitching few days after Cipro treatment. Gradually, I started having tingling in my legs. Also had three panic attacks. diagnosed with borderline hyperthyroidism (TSH 0.32 and FT4 24) and all symptoms were attributed to thyroid problem. The thyroid is back to normal now without any thyroid meds. In the past 8 months, I have been on Wellbutrin (300 mg per day for 3 weeks), Lorazepam (3 mg per day for 3 months) and propranolol (40 mg per day irregularly for 1 month).
Recently I have been experiencing sudden pain in my abdomen. The pain then spreads to my shoulders and down my arms. A little health history...I am 32 year old male, 6'3" 265lbs. I have slightly high blood pressure that I take 5mg of Lisinopril for and have been for the past 3 weeks. I also had a bout of Prostatitis which I was given a ten day supply of Cipro for. Also, I have had my hear checked fully 2 years ago when my EKG showed and abnormality.
It is now about a year later, and I am having pain in my left testicle again. I do not have health insurance and got a friend to prescribe Cipro for me to clear up my infection. After reading the new black box warning on Cipro I am very nervous and reluctant to take it, mainly because of the reports of sudden tendon rupture. I started taking Cipro a week ago. 6/5/09. I noticed my energy to be low and my joint and tendons to be stiff and sore.
No specialist is keen on taking my case, and after few visits, all of them make a same statement saying my case is difficult to diagnose which is frustrating me.
The urologists did rule out vericocele and testicular torsion.
I do have knee problem after excessive running during workouts, was diagnosed with runner's knee. I too have stabbing pain in the feet sometimes. Can all this be ITBS related?
i also forgot to mention i was doing a job that had me jump from the top of a parapet wall down on to the roof multiple times about 5 hours before i was prescribed cipro so i am thinking it is just physical use related pain of the achilles. I have read alot of horror stories of what happened to people after taking cipro so i may be just over reacting here, any advise here ?
Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
