3 weeks ago I was prescribed Ciproflaxcin for a prostatsis, I took the Cipro for about a week and a half when I about 5 days into the prescription I began to experience major burning pain in my muscles, joints, and neck. After day 9 the pain was unbearable so I stopped and three days later went to the ER for treatment, I told them I had a bad reaction to the Cipro so they changed my prescription to Bactrim which almost immediately dropped my pain level from a level of 8 to a 2 on a 1-10 scale.
I have a red dotted rash on my legs and chest and bellly...have been having pain in my pelvis area for a while now and pain in the muscles of my legs hands and arms... I do sweat a lot at night but wouldnt say drenching... Have a fever that comes and goes... No pain in lungs or throat... There is no pus from the tonsil..it looks normal just big...the node in my neck seems round but i cant feel the back of it so cantvtell how big it is so it could be long...its firm rubbery..
I took Cipro twice in 2009, I had rash, itchy and after that I had thighs,legs and buttocks pain with nerve pain. Is that possible from Cipro ? I'm still getting the nerve and legs pain.
I had xray,hiv, herpes, stds and nerve test all came back normal.

Regarding the urinary tract infection It sounds like the organism causing the problem is getting resistant to the drug Cipro and you may need a new prescription. Also, Cipro may be causing you to throw up. it is possible you have a kidney infection still and it is causing pain that is radiating to the front.

i had unprotected vaginal sex with a gal and 5 and half weeks after that i started noticing some symptoms. i was itching all over and i felt i needed to de-worm. after that i had pain in my left gum, left eye and the left side of my neck started to really hurt. i started panicking. i do not know about swollen lymph nodes but i felt that some in my left neck left armpit and left groin are swollen.in the sixth week i had an hiv anti body test which turned out negative.

I took the antibiotic Cipro (which causes tendon pain and ruptures) and now have a bunch of problems with both ankles. I have achilles tendon pain, and I also have pain and swelling on the inside of my ankle and arch of foot. It hurts to move my toes back, and I can't stand on my toes at all (can't even get off the ground). I also have no balance and sway. If I walk one foot in front of the other (like a drunk driving test), I fall.
Cipro has a lot of side effects. Have you looked them up? I am not saying come off it but what you are experiencing could be from that. It stays in your system long after you take it. Are you still taking pain meds? I can't remember if Cipro causes constipation but pain meds do for sure. Are you taking any stool softeners to help? Ginger or peppermint tea help a lot with bloating as well as a heating blanket.
When you mean blocked do you mean constipated blocked?
A week and a half into taking the antibiotic I began to feel burning muscle pain as well as neck and joint pain. I also had my appetite killed with Cipro I really didn’t eat in that period. Prior to this I had none of these symptoms and when I stopped taking Cipro and started taking the bactrim the pains I had originally were reduced by a large amount. They are still there but not as vivid as when I was taking Cipro. My appetite has returned.

I have been suffering from a wide array of symptoms for the past two years and no one seems to have any answers. It all started with a chronic neck pain, headaches and lightheadedness. I got Giardia (intestinal parasite) from river water and was prescribed first Cipro for "travelers diarrhea" and when that didn't work I was prescribed Metronidazole for Giardia. I took Cipro for 5 days then Metronidazole for 10. During the course of Metro I started having chest pain. I dismissed them because I was having muscle pains in virtually all my muscles off an on. I became more concerned after I began waking up with my chest vibrating like a cell phone!
Also pinching and burning feeling in my penis when I was urinating. I also started pain in my neck and under my armpit. I finished 7 day course and went back to see my doctor on Feb 22, and he said take Cipro XL 1000 for 5 more days. It will clear all the prostitis infection. My urination problem was almost gone but When i had sex with my GF on Feb 21, the stuff came from me wasn't thick. It was so thin like water and when I was ejaculating I was having paing in my penis and groing area.
I consulted with 2 urologist and several cystoscopies, it was noticed that I had some tissue at the bladder neck. In 1995 I underwent a TURP and resction of the bladder neck. The surgery only gave relief for a short period. In 1996, a urodynamics study was done and it it was then determined that I had a neurogenic bladder. I than was told to use intermittant catherization in order to empty the bladder as I was unable to completely empty my bladder the normal way.
The 2nd day I got a sore throat and pain in the neck and stiff lymph nodes in the neck (maybe i was just imagining since i am overly worried)
5 days later, i saw a doctor who has put me on cipro for 10 days. Nothing really changed so I went to see a different doctor who told me I must have gonorrhea (without testing) and he told me to take a ceftriaxone shot+7days of doxycycline+10 days of metronidazole to clear all infections.
I went to a CVs minute clinic where they confirmed and prescribed me 14 days(28) cipro antibiotic pills. After finishing the prescription I had pain in ny penis both erect and flaccid. Sometimes severe when erect. My penis rapidly took on a 90 degree upward curve that and I now have Peyronie's. Was it the cipro that caused the Peyronie's? And since this progressed so rapidly is there a better chance of reversing it. Before this my penis was perfectly straight.
I do have pain in lower back, abdominal discomfort, pain with ejaculation, and pain in the testes that come and go (a lot of the symptoms come and go).
2. Are my STI screenings valid if I was on and towards the end of my 28 day cipro treatment?
3. Would being on cipro and continued use of cipro (500mg twice daily) for a week after exposure decrease the chance of getting an STI?
