chantix

Avatar f tn I never took this but have heard horror stories as well as success stories. I am sensitive to any med so I never wanted to go there. I would be a horror story! Just depends on the individual and their personal reaction.
380558 tn?1309042387 They said that after 72 hours on the Chantix (because Chantix blocks the nicotine from entering the receptors and the nicotine will be out of the system within 72 hours as well) I shouldn't be feeling any major cravings after.. So, it should be alot easier by tomorrow.. :D.. just go to the website, you'll get a whole read up on it.. :D.. it's WORTH taking! Everyone else.. thanks so much for your encouragement and support! I'm so glad I logged on today! Love you all!
Avatar f tn Have you tried Chantix? If you have ins go to your doctor and ask him for chantix. It's a rx designed to block the nicotine receptors. You smoke while taking the med the first week and then you stop smoking, but continue the medicine. After the first week you will notice the cravings are mental but not so much physical. You can google "chantix" and you can learn more about it. I am 30 and have smoking since 12, it's the hardest habit to break.
Avatar m tn Anything positive that has happened since you quit, please share with us. I love reading the success stories, even those that are just starting out with a day or 2 clean and excited about what sobriety has to offer is success. Addiction comes with so much pain, but when we fight for what we want and stay clean, we begin to heal and life changes. Life becomes worth living again. How has live improved for you, since you made the decision to get clean?
461993 tn?1245693352 I'm only on Day 4 C/T off Percs/Vics; I would like to hear/read some success stories as I am sure others just beginning the battle would... Please share.

I feel Iv come far from what I was, learned a lot, gained new friends and people to talk to. I know I would feel great knowing this anxiety can be beaten for good!!!! I would like to see hope for me and others alike! Anxiety has turned my life upside down.. I missed out on a lot the past year!!! I want to know there is hope!!
Avatar f tn I am very new to this type of thing, but I do find that reading pregnancy success stories from other women who have PCOS, really helps me to cope with the fact that I have fertility issues. I am on my second round of 50mg of clomid and Im also taking Metformin. Are there any women who have successfuly conceived on Clomid and how many rounds did it take?
1834120 tn?1422942267 I just wanted to share some extraordinary success stories with everyone. Most of these will ring truer for the older crowd because that is the crowd I belong to (42 yrs and ttc), but they should give hope to everyone who is ttc no matter what your circumstances are. 1. Friend, 43, never ttc, BD for 6 months with her hubby and voila, a beautiful girl, no stim drugs or yoga or fancy positions! 2.
Avatar f tn m not quite sure what your friend and her husband used, but if it was chantix/champix, then the success rate is 44%. I used Chantix to quit and it really worked great. Saying that, there are so many people who have experienced side effects, some severe, so make sure you do your homework on it. Most people that you tell truly want to see you succeed. The one who told you would not be able to succeed is probably bringing her own experience into your conversation.
Avatar m tn So, I have heard horrible stories about the side effects of Chantix, how was it for everyone that has used it?? Despite what people say about the side effects, everyone I know that has used it has successfully quit smoking, but I'm nervous about about what they say it does. I have had several people tell me that they have horrible nightmares, have SUICIDAL THOUGHTS, and feel like they are just down right going crazy???
Avatar f tn Not that I'm pro Chantix, but allow me to play devils advocate for a minute. When one contemplates quitting and then sets out to do it, there is a profound loss.....like losing your best friend, and we all have to deal with. I myself grieved long and hard. Could your depressed state be that you have finally come to terms with the fact that it is your time to quit? I used Chantix and mourned the loss but I also used it before it was linked to "possible" suicide.
Avatar m tn I hear chantix is a miracle drug for those who want to quit smoking. I think they are the same company that makes some antidepressants. However, I also read that people became suicidal on it and heard that people actually commited suicide. I have severe anxiety and other related mental problems and am so scared to take that drug but I need to quit smoking. Anyone who is on antidepressants took chantix?
427279 tn?1210919821 When you stop the pills you really need to have a plan to not go back to it as the pill really cut the craving to nothing but it comes back so work on finding things to do with your hands well on the chantix so when the course is done maybe you will have better success staying off the smack then I did! Did it twice maybe I will try again later when they get the dose right. At one point I started in 1/4 doses it took longer to build in the system but I sure saw my smoking decrease.
393419 tn?1228447393 My Dr, prescribed Chantix, for me to quit smokeing, but with all the other Rx's I am on (Synthroid, Warafin, Dilantin, Keppra xr, I decided against it, of course still smoking, i did quit once with hynotizm, but after a real bad sz, I woke up craving again, and been smoking since, tried hypnotizm a few more times, but apparently I'm no longer hypnotizable, Synthroid should always be taken on empty tummy in the morning, at least an hour before eating, or else you are not getting the en
Avatar m tn Hey there and congratulations on 1mo quit!!!! Seeing your success has been very exciting for me and is helping me to get closer to the day when I will be able to post about my own quit. Seeing your struggles, but most of all, your happiness now that you don't smoke has been extremely encouraging. That is why I stay here even though I am smoking again. You mentioned in a note to me that it must be hard to see people quitting when I'm still smoking, but really, just the opposite.
950277 tn?1247274551 My mother in law went on the chantix program. She was a smoker of over 50 years. She has been on Chantix for 3months. She actually lights her smoke but does not smoke it. She does this twice daily. She really has quit. It is amazing!
Avatar f tn So right now I am currently taking ziprasidone 80 mg, chantix 1mg, topamax 50mg 3x day, and ropinirole for side effects 1 mg once a day. I can't believe I actually made it through the night last night. I had some psychosis and was up all night long, but laying and I had the shakes at first but I'm actually proud I made it through the night without popping that pill. Took my medicine this morning and slept for about 5 hours and no psychosis, hallucinations or anything.
