Chantix success rate

Common Questions and Answers about Chantix success rate

chantix

Avatar f tn m not quite sure what your friend and her husband used, but if it was chantix/champix, then the success rate is 44%. I used Chantix to quit and it really worked great. Saying that, there are so many people who have experienced side effects, some severe, so make sure you do your homework on it. Most people that you tell truly want to see you succeed. The one who told you would not be able to succeed is probably bringing her own experience into your conversation.
Avatar f tn Have you tried Chantix? If you have ins go to your doctor and ask him for chantix. It's a rx designed to block the nicotine receptors. You smoke while taking the med the first week and then you stop smoking, but continue the medicine. After the first week you will notice the cravings are mental but not so much physical. You can google "chantix" and you can learn more about it. I am 30 and have smoking since 12, it's the hardest habit to break.
Avatar f tn Not that I'm pro Chantix, but allow me to play devils advocate for a minute. When one contemplates quitting and then sets out to do it, there is a profound loss.....like losing your best friend, and we all have to deal with. I myself grieved long and hard. Could your depressed state be that you have finally come to terms with the fact that it is your time to quit? I used Chantix and mourned the loss but I also used it before it was linked to "possible" suicide.
Avatar m tn I hear chantix is a miracle drug for those who want to quit smoking. I think they are the same company that makes some antidepressants. However, I also read that people became suicidal on it and heard that people actually commited suicide. I have severe anxiety and other related mental problems and am so scared to take that drug but I need to quit smoking. Anyone who is on antidepressants took chantix?
427279 tn?1210919821 When you stop the pills you really need to have a plan to not go back to it as the pill really cut the craving to nothing but it comes back so work on finding things to do with your hands well on the chantix so when the course is done maybe you will have better success staying off the smack then I did! Did it twice maybe I will try again later when they get the dose right. At one point I started in 1/4 doses it took longer to build in the system but I sure saw my smoking decrease.
950277 tn?1247274551 My mother in law went on the chantix program. She was a smoker of over 50 years. She has been on Chantix for 3months. She actually lights her smoke but does not smoke it. She does this twice daily. She really has quit. It is amazing!
1937645 tn?1324236061 I recently quit with the help of Chantix, It's been 43 days and still going strong. This is the first time in 25 years that I've been smoke free. Although the medicine is expensive, I spend no more on it than I did on the cigarettes. The only side effects for me are the crazy and vivid dreams, which really don't bother me. If I take the medicine on an empty stomach it really disturbs my belly and I get wicked gas. Sorry I had to bring up the flatulence.
Avatar f tn It does have about the best success rate out there. But, if you made it through withdrawals, anything is possible on your own! Best of luck to you.
444932 tn?1273980797 Sorry to hear that you had to quit the chantix. I guess I was one of the lucky ones! There are no quick fixes and even though chantix made it easier, there were still withdrawals and cravings. If you have had success using the patch then you really should try that again, read whyquit.com and post to the board when you are feeling vulnerable. Good luck!
Avatar m tn to get a drug called Chantix to quit smoking. Was taking it the week I was taking the Norcos...that second week (this week) I'm out of Norco and quit smoking.....and I FEEL GREAT!!!! I mean seriously, minimal withdrawls, felt foggy this morning but otherwise feel just fine....no chills...NOTHING!!!! AND...I'm not smoking either!! Ok so I'm on my 3rd day of no Norco and no smokes....feeling perfect and I'm excited!! Could the Chantix be helping me with the Norco addiction?
380558 tn?1309042387 They said that after 72 hours on the Chantix (because Chantix blocks the nicotine from entering the receptors and the nicotine will be out of the system within 72 hours as well) I shouldn't be feeling any major cravings after.. So, it should be alot easier by tomorrow.. :D.. just go to the website, you'll get a whole read up on it.. :D.. it's WORTH taking! Everyone else.. thanks so much for your encouragement and support! I'm so glad I logged on today! Love you all!
Avatar f tn By the time I was in his office I had cut back smoking for 5 days and was nicotine free for 40 hours. He gave me the speech that the chances of my success were low and that if I did start smoking again just stay with about 5 cigarettes a day. . Both doctors are internal medicine so why would my doctor see something important but the other not? All I know is I feel great right now and I am done with doctors. He didn't have to make me feel stupid.
334876 tn?1229979296 s time to quit being the Marlboro man and quit smoking, my doc finally gave me the rx for chantix so I guess this is day one and I should see how good it works in about 7 days as it tends to taper off the well to smoke Wish me luck Cowboy
228936 tn?1249094248 I started almost a year ago and chantix which made it easier. Now I don't have the same Rx plan and haven't been taking it and really notice the craving. When I see people buy ciggs or smoke I miss it. I'm not that close to caving in and smoking just dissapointed to still miss it.
1539611 tn?1345659183 I would like to know what is the success rate (Chances of getting pregnant) in first cycle of taking clomid. Also please let me know will there be any side effects of taking clomid. Any suggestions are welcome.
351846 tn?1273615544 I think the success rate for suboxone is gonna be really small but maybe the phar. companys will make it seem different because at 6$ a piece from the pharmacy and due to the fact that they make anybody who is ill instantly well again ensures its success at the cost of billions of brain receptors. Somebody has to speak up, if im going to be on this for the rest of my life then just give me a script with unlimited refills.
Avatar f tn Wow! $26,000! That's a lot of money. I've never done IVF, but I've checked the cost (I've had two miscarriages myself...and each time it took me more than a year to get pregnant). At the center I went for three IUIs last year, they charge about $7,000 for IVF, but that does not include meds, which I've heard can cost several thousands by itself. I've just kinda guestimated that it will cost about $10,000...but I'm starting to wonder if that's way off now.
