chantix heart problems

Last night I looked up Chantix side effects on the web and found HUNDREDS of people with problems like mine that persist long after they stopped taking the pill. Many people in their thirties that just had a heart attack one day out of the blue (this is what I am most afraid of happening to me) Does anyone know how to undo the damage that chantix is causing?

Ok well it may be the Chantix... but I dont know... most symptoms I know of with Chantix are stomach related. Just in case I would try stopping... if you still get you know thats not it... However, i actually think you may have a sinus infection... Very common when you first quit. Usually appears as though you get a cold or something within the first 3 weeks... it's actually like all the crap is coming up from your system.

I took chantix for 1 1/2 months and experienced a little gas but that was all. I quit taking chantix 3 days after my last cigarette and that was 9 months 1 week and 4 days ago. I think I should consider myself one of the lucky ones as all I hear on this board is how bad chantix was for them! Outside of this board, I knew a dozen or so people who took it, and none of them had anything more serious then gas and bad dreams! I hope you start feeling better real soon and I hope that you have quit.

I am just hoping someone can help me. I am a 34 yo female. I started having problems in Oct 2008 after taking Chantix for about a month. I quit taking the meds because I had a really bad reaction to it. I was angry, very emotional and thought of suicide. I have never been this way before and didn't like so I stopped the med. About a month later I had an episode where I was having slurred speech (alot) and I would drive to work and then sit there and think "how did I get here".

I have been on Chantix . My breast are swollen and tender. Has anyone else had this side effect. Not from my periods - had a hysterectomy 15 years ago.

So your on both suboxone and chantix? Do you feel wierd or anything? Ive heard things about chantix like it causes nightmares and suicidle thoughts. Im kind of scared. Do you really feel good? How long have you been on suboxone?

We are not medical doctors so if you want to know about the side effects then you should call them (chantix) directly at 1-877-CHANTIX. Also, there is something that comes with the prescription that tells you about the risks. You had better read up on it. Sorry to hear that you are having seizures. I took chantix with very little side effects. Good luck with everything and if you need support with your quit, then we are here for you.

I smoked for 38 years and I decided to give Chantix a try. So many people were singing its praises. Well, its been 1 year and 1 month since I put that last smoke to my mouth. Given your other problems you might want to try the patch. If you can, cold turkey is probably the best way. The physical withdrawals only last 3 days. sorry to keep posting my doctor also put me on a couple of different anti depressants didnt work to well for me so he ended up giving me xanx do you think that could cover up any my problems always been healthy person weights eat well have taken lots of creatines like no explode stuff like that.

I hear chantix is a miracle drug for those who want to quit smoking. I think they are the same company that makes some antidepressants. However, I also read that people became suicidal on it and heard that people actually commited suicide. I have severe anxiety and other related mental problems and am so scared to take that drug but I need to quit smoking. Anyone who is on antidepressants took chantix?

Hi, I'm taking chantix along with other meds, sertraline, is another anti depressant in the same category with no problems. I think (but dont quote me) that it is the MAOI's and Trycilyic anti d's that chantix is not recommended.

They said that after 72 hours on the Chantix (because Chantix blocks the nicotine from entering the receptors and the nicotine will be out of the system within 72 hours as well) I shouldn't be feeling any major cravings after.. and I really don't think of smoking all that much. I am taking Chantix and for me its awesome...takes away my desire for a puff. Not 100% but so much that i no longer obsess over smoking. I've changed some smoking habits...when i take the dog outside in the morning, i have my coffee instead of a cig, on the way to work I drink out of my bottle of water, instead of lighting up...at work, I eat an apple, take a walk, or brush my teeth when my 'smoke time' comes...

BE CAREFUL WITH THE CHANTIX, I USED IT AND IT CAUSED ME TO HAVE SEVERAL PROBLEMS THE ONE THAT BOTHERED AND UPSET ME THE MOST WERE SOMETHNG THAT FELT LIKE ELECTRIC SHOCKS IN MY LEFT CHEST. IT SCARED ME INTO THINKING I WAS HAVING A HEART ATTACK.

Apparently it can and does effect your siezure condition if your meds are of a specific type, I had a severe epsiode back in december 08 and had to be put in a COMA because of the fact that I began hallucinating badly after I had just stopped tasking the chantix. I stopped taking chantix because of the nightmares it caused me,...Nightmares I'd rather forget about,.....I think I almost re-lived me entire childhood up to age 5 in three ngihts of "non-sleep".....

i have no personal experience with that but i do know some here on the forum have been taking chantix and they did not have any problems. good luck on the smoking and mount everest. hang on and maybe someone with more knowledge may come along. in the meantime you might try googling that ?

I really suffered from dizziness almost all the way through and nausea later in tx. Not sure about the chantix though. Eye problems are also very common during tx. good that you got them checked. Sx come and go, so don't worry about the sudden onset, may be gone tomorrow.

m also finding it hard to figure out how to take my thyroid, iron, multi vitamin, blood pressure, H20 and cholesteral pills, plus chantix in the correct manner.??? Can you take Chantix with levothyrozine? Thanks for any comments in advance. I am very ignorant when it comes to thyroid issues.

I was fatigued (another possible effect of thyroid) and the chantix gave me more energy. I eased into the chantix and when I was near the end of the treatment, I weaned off slowly. My husband also took Chantix, but right after he started, he read some of the articles about some possible side effects and he panicked and in spite of my warnings, stopped it cold turkey. At the same time, he quit taking his anti-depressant and I can't describe the problems he had.

yes for chantix ..but they wont give me a prescription until all my other tests come back they told me that demtlying (i know i spelled it wrong) cannot be entitly excluded ...i had the spine vep ..

My mother in law went on the chantix program. She was a smoker of over 50 years. She has been on Chantix for 3months. She actually lights her smoke but does not smoke it. She does this twice daily. She really has quit. It is amazing!

Chest pains, arm pains, leg pains, the SOB and the dizziness....I am only 29 years old too. I have all the tests to check my heart and circulatory system out...no problems. Why am I having such a hard time quitting again? Why did I ever start again? I went on vacation and that is how I quit. I changed my surroundings, my routine. I don't have anyway of doing that right now but I really, really want to quit. What worked for you?
