Avatar n tn Between December 2002 and October 2005, 189 non-diabetic patients were treated with Peg-IFN-alpha/Riba, of whom five developed type 1 DM (2.6%), three type 2 DM (1.6%) and one an indeterminate type of DM. Classical symptoms of DM were present in three patients who developed DM shortly after cessation of Peg-IFN-alpha/Riba. In the other patients, symptoms of DM were either indistinguishable from side effects caused by Peg-IFN-alpha/Riba or absent.
Avatar f tn I had an adverse reaction to Mucinex DM. In May I had an upper resporitory infection and my doctor prescribed antibiotics and told me to take a decongestant. I bought the Mucinex DM (12 hour time release) and took one pill before bed. I woke up 3:00 am hallucinating big white globs. It was pretty bad and I called the nurse hotline for my insurance. The nurse told me to call poison control. Poison Control told me the "DM" in the medicine was a hallucinagent.
Avatar m tn There are several things that can mimic DM, and the thing that makes me think that it might not BE DM is that DM usually comes along gradually and not overnight, as you have described. Before a positive DM diagnosis can be made it is advisable to test for thyroid function.

Avatar n tn Hi.. 6+ cups for a shepherd sound about right.. I've taken care of skinny sheps that need 7 cups a day.. I don't know much about Cerebellar Abiotrophy, but I do know that it is has symptoms similar to Degenerative Myelopathy, an incurable autoimmune disease much like MS to humans.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me I can take robitussin DM for my cold. Is robitussin cough+Chest congestion DM the same thing?
Avatar m tn Yay! You made it! Now is the Great Wait. Continue with the water and good diet, it takes a while for the meds and their effects to leave. You will be blessing those stupid pills!
Avatar n tn What Robitussin do you take? I took the one that said Md or Dm on it. I still have a cough tho and I've already finished the medicine. I also take cough drops.
Avatar f tn My OB says Mucinex (the regular kind, not DM or anything) is okay, but a lot of women try to tough it out with honey and humidifiers. Sorry you're feeling so bad, being pregnant and sick is not fun.
Avatar f tn It doesn't affect the baby. You can take benadryl and robitussun. Not the dm just plain for cough.
Avatar f tn My doctor recommended Tylenol Sinus & Cold or Musinex MD (or DM) Can't remember if the top of my head.
Avatar f tn You can call and speak to a nurse or doctor at the hospital or another office that is open. And of course there's always Google. Personally I'm surprised that the doctor said to take DM since it's typically more dangerous. Dextromethorphan (DM) is the chemical that makes you trip (hallucinatory or get a kind of drunk type feeling) if you drink enough and is very commonly abused and can be pretty harmful, so that's why it surprises me so much that they said take that.
Avatar f tn your really only supposed to have tylenol
Avatar f tn My Dr told me only regular mucinex (guaifenesin) only.
Avatar f tn Halls my ob said rubotosin DM is OK to drink

Avatar n tn I am the mother of a son with type 1 diabetes, diagnosed eighteen years ago. While I am not a medical person, I have never heard of this condition before. I'm glad to hear that your son is going to a liver specialist. You didn't say how long he has had diabetes or if he was recently diagnosed. If you are seeing an endocrinoligist who specializes in type 1 diabetes, he or she will be able to provide the best information on what may be going on.
Avatar n tn Dear lolamc, Thank you for contacting our forum. I am not a doctor but a volunteer for JDRF. Having said that, whether a person is a child or adult with diabetes, the blood sugars should be maintained at the same levels. The numbers seem high. Are you seeing any symptoms such as excessive thirst, weightloss or frequent urination? These can be symptoms of Type 1 diabetes. I would recommend that he or she be taken to her physician for testing as soon as possible.
Avatar f tn Usually Ur doc can give u a list of safe things to take.
