If you look at the label on cough syrup for children, even those typically recommend for age 6 and up (at least the brands I have seen.)
When my 2 1/2 year old has a cold with a cough I give him milk slightly warmed with honey in it. I have also given him a teaspoon of honey on it's own. It works extremely well.
Know how u feel I my ob today said most cough sryups r ok depending how far along u are I just got the trynol flu tablets wich I was told r ok just to take the minium dosage and only when I need to( for me night time is when everything gets unbarable so im only gonna take one at night) but from what my ob told me its more in the first trimester that they get concerned if ur futher along u taken some cough medicen is fine
Don't take a DM. You can actually Google the meds list that the docs use and determine what is safe for which trimester, but if you do try to be sparing in your dosage and be honest with yourself about any health problems you may have. I had a serious sinus infection at one point and couldn't go to a doctor; tried to suck it up but it only got worse. I ended up taking original Mucinex and Sudafed, with tylenol and nose spray, and little man is healthy as an ox.

my two years old son has an anemia and now is taking ferrous sulfide 3 bottles he took the first bottle already so befor e the 2 blood test due date he had an allergy asme coughing so his taking liquid ventolin albuterol,and ceron for cough and prednisolone orapred, its ben already 4 days and now i can see under his eyes bruises like sometimes reddish sometimes blue and dark specially at nights.
U of Missouri DNA test for DM came back positive. We have been taking him 3x/wk for phys therapy including water treadmill, laser, & yoga ball strengthening. I have been following Clemmons vitamins & minerals, however, I have been administering 1000 iu/day of Vit E. I know Clemmons recommends 2000 iu/day in dogs w/DM but my vet is wary of this dosage. What do you think? Will it hurt him or cause any other conditions? He weighs 70lbs.
I am currently on MiCardis and Atenolol. Have responded well to them for over two years. Last few days have experienced increased BP according to my monitor but I'll check three times in a row and the readings will differ significantly (Ex: yesterday, 151/110 then 146/109 and finally 137/93) This has been happening the past four days.
So my questions are: Should I seek to change medications? Change dosages? Or could there be other causes that are temporary that might 'go away'?

You can call and speak to a nurse or doctor at the hospital or another office that is open. And of course there's always Google. Personally I'm surprised that the doctor said to take DM since it's typically more dangerous. Dextromethorphan (DM) is the chemical that makes you trip (hallucinatory or get a kind of drunk type feeling) if you drink enough and is very commonly abused and can be pretty harmful, so that's why it surprises me so much that they said take that.
The don't if you prefer. I was on medication my entire pregnancy and my daughter is a very healthy, intelligent two year old. They're not as harmful to children as you would think, and it's in fact worse for you to be that sick and in pain because it puts them into stress.
Im currently 28 weeks and 4 days,for the past 3 days i've had a really bad cough with phlegm. I tried taking robitussin dm because thats what my doctor recommended me to take,but its just not helping..have any of you ladies tried a home remedy that worked? I cant sleep and my stomach hurts from all my coughing.
My doctor told me I could take robotusin cold for children, it only has 1 ingredient in it and that's the only one I'm able to take, I got the fruit punch flavor so it doesn't taste as bad, I have a really bad cough right now and a stuffy runny nose : / 26 weeks tomorrow, and this cold is not fun : /

After doing some research, I discovered that some of the Fancy Feast classics are close to the same percentage of protein (some more) as the purina dm and they are low in carbs. For several days now, Oreo has been on the Fancy Feast, seems to like the flavor and is doing well.
I'm just concerned because I asked my vet if there was any over the counter wet pet food high in protein and low in carbs and she told new no.
