celexa overdose symptoms

Does anyone know if you can actually overdose on anti-depressants such as Celexa? If you can how much is too much? How much is an overdose and what would happen? Ie sick, death, brain damage?

t think think any antidepressant offers benefits that increase in a linear fashion as the dosage goes up. For example, I am taking Celexa at 40 mg. I have read that increasing to 60 mg is possible but offers little clinical benefit.

So I have been on Effexor 37.5 mg. for the past four weeks. I asked to be put back on Celexa because I know it works for me, and my doctor approved it. I'm just wondering if I should stop taking the Effexor right off and start the Celexa or somehow wean myself off of the Effexor first?

I realize the starting dose for Celexa is 20mg. and that the maximum dosage is 60mg. My son Todd was in prison for 5 yrs. Was given 100mg. of Celexa the 5 yrs. he was in prison. Asked the nurse at the counseling center he was going to, would the overdose by 40mg. for 5 yrs., cause my son to have any problems. The nurse told me that this extra 40mg. would not make a difference or hurt Todd. That it would just cancel itself out. I hope someone can prove me wrong on this.

i have been on 40 mg of celexa for a month or so after switching from lexapro due to insurance. i also take .05 klonopin . i take my meds in the morning at the same time. once the klonopin kicks in i feel better. i just dont feel like the celexa touches my anxiety and without the klonopin my anxiety wouldnt go away. does anyone have hightened anxiety in the morning? is there any ssri's that work better than others for anxiety or is taking 2 meds kinda protocol? thanks for any input!

I took Celexa for a few months then went off. I had horrible withdrawl type symptoms for about 3 weeks. After that I was fine! Hang in there, it will get better.

I was given Celexa when I was 15, I overdosed on it and was admitted to the hospital with Serotonin Syndrome. I was told to avoid taking SSRI in the future. Now I am 33, I have been diagnosed with Postpartum Anxiety. I went to my OB and GP and they both sent me to a psychiatrist because of the Serotonin Syndrome and the fact that I'm breast feeding to get put on medication to manage my PPA. The psychiatrist told me there was no risk of taking an SSRI now.

Since I was first diagnosed I started to have some weird symptoms it is like some kind of head shocks I used to get them maybe once a month but now I am getting them everyday constantly. It seems to involve my eye movements anyways I really don't like them. And by the way I have switched from Anafranil to Celexa so I don't know if this is the reason for this strange sensation. But like I said I used to have these strange symptoms before but not like this severe.

Lexapro can really change your life. I started taking 10 mg last October, and for about 3 wks felt out of it, like I was drugged. Sick, tired, all that. Really, stick it out. I am finally who I am supposed to be without all that anxiety and depressed moods...As a little note, this past week I started on Celexa, the older version of Lexapro, just because it's cheaper (I have no insurance and was forking over 88 bucks a month for the Lexapro).

so I have been having bad side effect from wellbutrin, nauseated, slight headache, slight pain in the back of my eyes (probably due to the headache) sweats, I did stop taking it as I was only on it for a week and 3 days.... I am now using celexa. What I am wondering is if it is possible to take tylenol with codeine to take away the headache, without having a overdose or something crazy to that effect???

I am no Doctor but ringing in your ears could mean overdose or drug interaction. Your liver can only process one drug at a time so the other stays in your system. Are you under a Doctor's supervision with this? You need to talk to a Doctor or Pharmacist ASAP.

hey Im a 21 yr old white male. I take 20mg of celexa every morning for anxiety. Anyways when I go to the bars and drink alcohol, I get the worst mental hangovers that linger for 2-3 days. I'll be fine that night, but the next day I will have terrible brain fog/confusion problems no matter how hydrated I am or what I eat.. I have been drinking on weekends since I was about 16. I cannot remember if the hangovers got this bad before or after i started anxiety medication.. .

Issues persisted so by mid-December my primary care suggested I take Celexa, fearing anxiety. Around this same time I also saw a chiropractor for relief. At that point my symptoms became VERY aggressive. I started to get muscle twitches/stiffness in my shoulder, chest, arms, abs, ankles, back and calves. I had been on Celexa 4 weeks and quit it cold turkey because I felt so awful.

I have recently (1 month ago) been prescribed xanax (.5mg x 3 a day) and celexa (20mg a day), and very recently I have been experiencing falls, black-outs, and bed wetting after having only a few drinks, meaning 3 small glasses of wine or a few beers. Has anyone else had these humiliating experiences???? Will these side effects wear off after being on the meds for a longer period of time if I continue to have a few drinks, or is this permanent?

Since this post, have you started taking the celexa? I took it for one month two months ago. The only symptoms I had were trouble sleeping and I could not orgasm. It helped me with anxiety though and when I got angry, I did not get as agitated as usual. I then tried zoloft and experienced the same symptoms only worse insomnia and I didn't feel like it helped my anxiety. Oh, and I did not have withdrawl symptoms.

Then i got really depressed and after 3-4 months when i came back to my home town i was really suicidal.I tried to kill myself with overdose of drugs with alcohol and i collapsed two times but then woke up .Aftter couple more months i stoped thinking about suicide and my psychiatrist told me that i am fine .I dont know when exactly it happend but i lost my libido , at first i thought its becouse of the hepatitis c but now i thing its becouse of the antidepresants i took .

=( I would def. get with your Dr. and let him know the symptoms. You have not been on Celexa long enough it sounds. Probably wouldn't hurt to explore stopping the drug and see if your symptoms go away? Ask Dr. first. Best of luck!

Overdose symptoms are depressed respitory system, you basically stop breathing, dizzy spells to the point where you feel as though you are passing out, blurry vision. OD dosages are certainly unique to each individual and based on tolerance levels. But I dont think 15mg of ocycodone are going to throw you into an od status.

Can someone give me either the symptoms or the timeline for an Ibuprofen overdose? And what's going to happen if I don't get treatment? I've taken approx. 40 200mg ibuprofen tablets, 32 hours ago.

What are your current thyroid hormone levels? Be sure to post reference ranges with results, since ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report. You should be getting tested periodically for TSH, Free T3 and Free T4. Do you have other symptoms of over medication, such as weight loss, diarrhea, tremors, etc. Do you have Hashimoto's?

The past few days have been really bad I mean I suffer from dp/dr which are the two worst symptoms I have and I am on xanax which helps with the panic attacks but now it feels as if it does not work. It feels as if I am loosing my mind and it is too late to get it back. Any suggestions on what I should do would be great.

Can I just quit taking celexa cold turkey? I have been real tired and just not feeling like myself and I think its the celexa making me feel that way.

nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, sweating, confusion, weakness. There are more, but easy to find if you search the web. Just taking an amount over the prescribed dose is NOT the definition of an overdose.

t personally recommend you stop taking Celexa but take both if you want to quit Celexa you must at least taper it slowly. Maybe switch Celexa to another SSRI like Lexapro or Prozac. The bad things you read about Wellbutrin are probably that it lowers the seizure's threshold and it is true but there should not be anything to be worried about if you are not suffering from epilepsy or taking the medication as indicated by your doctor.
