Common Questions and Answers about Celebrex with tramadol

celebrex

Avatar m tn I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
Avatar m tn I had had a problem with anti flams for a while and i new i couldnt take celebrex as i had terrible cramps in my stomach. My doctor gave me the meloxicam by mistake, he done it again the other day but luckily i spotted it and he apologised and changed them to etoricoxib. Please be careful when you are given pain relievers and anti flams. Ime really worried about taking these etoricoxib even tho i was assured by the receptionist that they are not in the same family as celebrex and meloxicam..
Avatar f tn But you are strong you can get off of it. Have you tried Celebrex instead of the other anti-inflammatories? Since Celebrex is a Cox2 not a Cox1 and 2 it doesn't ruin your stomach like the others. But, I still get some stomach pain and I take a Zantac with it every time and for a couple weeks after getting off of it. Maybe you can try something like Neurontin or Lamictal? I don't know if this would help since it is for nerve pain. It helped my back pain some but not when it was severe.
Avatar f tn I was having severe joint pain and back pain, so my primary physician put me on Celebrex and Tramadol (as needed) and had me go see a Rheumatologist. She took xrays and diagnosed me with more osteoarthritis and not rheumatoid arthritis, and also the fibromyalgia. Since being on the Celebrex, that has helped my back pain a LOT, and when the pain breaks through occasionally, I take the Tramadol. Just telling you what works for me. Have you seen a Rheumatologist?
Avatar n tn t know the dosages you are taking but put all together they can make you feel a bit tired. Usually with time this side effect will ease. Our bodies usually adjust to the medications. Cymbalta really put me in a bit of a stupor. It may be your combination that is effecting you. If you still feel so tired in a few weeks I would certainly discuss this will my physician. Indeed I would discuss it now. Many of us here are on even sronger medications and function without too much fatigue.
Avatar f tn I have lost the central vision in my left eye from wet macular degeneration and was diagnosed with the same condition in my right eye 3 months ago. First diagnosed at 50 and am now 55 years old. I did have Lucentis injections in the left eye for 3 years and have started the same treatment in my right eye. Due to the vision distortions and depth perception problems I have taken several falls this past year. Yesterday was the latest fall and today I'm in bad shape.
1155483 tn?1262432647 Potent NSAIDs can have serious side effects with long term use. Some ppl never seem to have an issue with them while others do. My sister has been on Celebrex for years and seem to have no problem tolerating it. Darvon is not an effective pain reliever for chronic pain. There have been studies that confirm the fact that even Ibuprofen is more effective. So in my opinion I would not consider Darvon. Tramadol has been effective for some chronic pain patients.
968560 tn?1307451498 Ive tried steroid injections(some relief for a little while) 800mg motrin, celebrex.660mg celebrex, norco, tramadol. Avatar m tn Eventually the elongated bumps will go away in one spot, but then appear in a different spot with the same results. Currently, the bumps are located in the area of her stomach and ribs. Question: Can anyone tell us what is going on with these elongated bumps? Please! Mentally, my wife is not doing well, since there is no diagnosis. We just want to know what we are dealing with in order to do what's necessary to combat/treat the problem.
1391401 tn?1280158300 I am sure you are experiencing some rebound pain. Tramadol, a centrally acting synthetic opioid analgesic. With multiple dosing it has a fairly long half life. It will take more than a few days to clean out of your system. I encourage you to discuss this with your PMP. I do understand your concern regarding this medication. However if you chose not to take it or any other similar prescribed medication your pain may not be tolerable. The goal in pain management is comfort.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your information madtram, I was hopeful that someone would have an experience with this amino. I am glad it helped with the tramadol withdrawl too. I think people are just searching for something that will help with the detox and maintainence, I know I have been looking for something that will shut the screaming receptors up !!! Chronic pain seems to eventualy lead me back to the old opiates and it would be nice to avoid staying on them for very long.
Avatar n tn My husband had hip resurfacing in June 2008. Everything went great with the surgery and he progressed much faster than the doctor anticipated. On August 7, 2008 ( his third day back at work light duty) he was walking when his femur fractured, that evening he had a total hip replacement. He had more pain after the second surgery and muscle weakness, we were told it was because he had two surgeries in 7 weeks, Almost a year later he suffers from severe to mild pain even when sitting still.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I did notice that when I took either Tylenol or Celebrex on the bad day it started to break the cycle. Any suggestions or has anyone seen this?
Avatar f tn I am taking 200mg of Celebrex daily for knee pain and I have Hep C. My hep doc sees no problem with it. Sometimes I take two, if I am going to be skiing or riding my bike hard; I'm just hoping that's OK! My two liver biopsys (5 years apart) have been normal.
Avatar n tn We discussed Celebrex in detail and the head of hepatobilliary department at Shands, who writes a lot of the research you see, said he has absolutely no problem with me taking Celebrex long term. I am a hepper with cirrhosis, I have a healthy heart and well controlled hypertension. I think as long as your mom doesn't have heart issues and she gets regular physian followups that she will benefit from Celebrex. I know I do.
548642 tn?1266179652 my gi didnt even know the dose to celebrex so i doubt he knows if its good to my liver! im telling yall hes stupid and i need to find a new dr asap!
Avatar f tn I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
Avatar n tn Stomach problems are common with Tramadol. Is it an upset stomach or lower as in intestinal? You can treat that with pepto bismal/Immodium. Can you take Motrin 800mg 3x per day? It does work for most people. There are some great women here who have much experience with Tramadol. They'll see your post and write to you. In the meantime, don't take anymore and try to increase your fluid intake.
Avatar m tn I'm glad you seem to get some relief from the tramadol. I've been in trouble with that drug for a long time. First it is very addictive, second, as you have found, it will take more and more to get the theraputic help you need. MANY tramadol users end up taking 20 pills a day just to function (feel normal, etc). My father is 80 and was on one tramadol 50mg in the morning and one at night, and he felt like they were not working, put them down, and did not sleep for two weeks.
1255658 tn?1269359477 I am coming to believe that it is very important to work with a doctor if possible with this stuff. Especially if you have pain/health issues to begin with. It sounds like a good plan, and I am sure you can do it. Keep us posted.
730763 tn?1234119387 s to the table(brain shakes, anxiety, depression, restlesnes, insomnia), and the tramadol wds will be bad for about a week and a half along with the hydrocodone, youve gone through the hardest part of the physical wd aspect, the rest is going to be mental(the cravings, anxiety, racing thoughts, strange behavior), and that last for quite some times, months sometimes 6 or more months it lasts...
Avatar f tn I was on Celebrex for 15 months (I was on treatment for 18). The problem with Celebrex is that long term use can be hard on the heart.
