Avatar n tn I can’t comment on celebrex, but acetaminophen remains the most widely recommended analgesic for Hep C patients. 1207048 tn?1282174304 I took celebrex years ago and I remember that it helped a little bit but there was a recall in 2004. They took it off the market due to findings of increased risk of heart attack, stroke and blood clots in patients that took it for more than a year. My mother took it also and neither of us had any side effects from it just stopped because of the recall. Have you tried physical therapy? It might help to be evaluated and then go for a few sessions and see if it helps.
Avatar m tn 2 times and less than 3 times the upper limit of normal) of liver associated enzymes was 6% for CELEBREX and 5% for placebo, and approximately 0.2% of patients taking CELEBREX and 0.3% of patients taking placebo had notable elevations of ALT and AST. Though celebrex carries the risk of gastritis and GI ulceration, like other NSAIDS; the incidence is slightly lower as compared to others. Symptom of GI reflux can be aggravated by it. Rhythm abnormalities (early de-polarisation/ re-polarisation) may not be related to celebrex use.
Avatar n tn I suspect it was the hydrodistention, not the celebrex that caused the improvement. Unfortunately, for most patients the symptoms usually return within 6 months, with a few lucky patients sumptom free for up to a year. I would still be careful with your diet, avoiding caffeine, acidic fruits and other bladder irritants.

370181 tn?1595629445 So, your rheumo wants you to try Celebrex. I would caution you against taking Celebrex. My mom who is also suffering from chronic pain due to a back injury she sustained from a bad fall eight years ago, was also prescribed Celebrex by a surgeon who is an expert in pain management. Well, my mom was on the Celebrex for only two days. She felt very ill on the Celebrex and went off the Celebrex by herself as it was making her symptoms worse.

Was not given crutches, concerned my weight (I'm about 40 lbs overweight) is hindering my recovery. Still in pain, limping and have some swelling - all docs told me it should be normal in a few days with the celebrex. I'm traveling and cannot afford to be immobile.
