Celebrex good or bad

Common Questions and Answers about Celebrex good or bad

Avatar m tn Any opinions would be appreciated, haven't spoken to my hep doc yet (he ordered the pelvic xrays), or been referred up (over) the ladder to a different specialist. But I do have 100 or so celebrex laying around and they appear to aleaviate my pain much better than the ibuprophen (?) I've been taking.. Thanks for any opinions you (or anyone) care to offer.
Avatar dr m tn I was on Celebrex for a short time, but, although it was helping my severe arthritis pain, I had to be taken off of it because it was raising my blood pressure to a dangerous level (160/105). Apparently this can be a side effect of all types of NSAID's so have been told I have to be VERY careful about taking any of them.
Avatar n tn My level of pain is almost none most of the time It only hurts bad if I drink alcohol or miss taking the vitimans. I take the dose I mentioned 2 times a day but my friend that I have reccomended this treatment too take more and some take less you just have to play with the dosage and get the size right for you.
Avatar f tn hi i have arthritis and i have had 4 joints totally replaced and i am only 35 with no kids. i am having so severe side effects from my med mainy celebrex i have had an heart test and was seen as early polarization , diagnosed with chronic gastrointestinal reflux and have skin rash and legions . i am thinking of a claim against them . but in the main time i dont want my doctors to feel bad as they have been with me since my early twenties.
Avatar f tn Dear Waqar00: Do you mean Celebrex or Celexa? Celebrex is celecoxib, a COX-2 inhibitor. Celecoxib (Celebrex) belongs in the class of NSAIDs or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, similar to aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, etc. It is used to relieve pain and inflammation. Celexa is citalopram, a SSRI or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. It is similar to fluoxetine (Prozac) and belongs in the same drug class, SSRI. It is used to treat depression and other mental health conditions.
225213 tn?1213738290 I just didnt tell him when the pain stopped being so bad. He gave me a non narcotic pain reliever (celebrex) and a muscle relaxer to take at night for my back. It felt good to be honest. I am still having mild wds, tired but still not sleeping well. Last night I slept for 5 hours straight, probably the longest and deepest sleep since quitting. My students are awesome, squirrely as heck but awesome just the same.
394687 tn?1290924440 I am going up and down with the flares - real bad and can hardly move for several hours then it lets up for 4 or 5 hours and I can get around - very strange pattern - anything like that with you guys?
279234 tn?1363108849 The doc asked my DH if I cried a lot and he said yes. the doc said that's good enough for me to call it psuedobulbar affect. He put me on it and lo and behold IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't have the epidural pain pump (but would have, had the Nuedexta not worked), I stopped the IV ketamine immediately and slowly backed off my other meds. It's possible that I am in remission as far as the muscle and bone pain (doubt it) but whatever happened , happened within 10 days time.
102334 tn?1194311200 This stuff seems to never end. Its crazy, the bad days seem to be more often than the good ones. The neurosurgeon upped my neurontin to 400 mg. TID, plus ordered celebrex 200 mg, and vicodin 7.5 q 4 hrs prn. There is no way Id even think about taking the vicodin that often. My legs are already weak enough, i sure dont need to fall and break a hip. I think Im going to train my potbelly pig pooty to be my guide pig. HAHAHA!
Avatar n tn I agree some good sleep would benefit me, I already take ambien cr, flexeril, celebrex, tramadol, and lortab, but still do not get any good rest. Would a mri of the area that the needle was inserted, indicate anything if it is arachnoiditis? I did have an mri on the same day of the myelogram while at the ER, it showed some fluid or blood at the sight of the injection. would a more recent mri show anything different than that one if it is arachnoidits?
Avatar f tn And what's CannaCap? Good for me is a 4. Really good would be a 2 but that's rare. Four is my normal. But around 7 or 8, I start directing from the bed (4 kids) and don't get a lot done and I'm irritable. I was just trying to get a feel for what people think is reasonable. I thought 4 was reasonable but then I thought maybe it's not; maybe I'm asking for too much. I don't think we have medical marijuana here in Mass. But I only did it about twice as a kid and I wasn't a fan ...
Avatar n tn Every symptom disappeared and its been 40 days now and Im doing just great.... I feel healthy...!!! I dont know if it was the CELEBREX or the hydrodistention that helped but I was back at normal.. I just dont wanna accept the fact that I have IC and Im living with the fear the symptoms will appear again... What I wanted to ask is this: is it possible that my bladder just got inflammated due to the overdistention (my holding my urine in) and that this is not IC?
Avatar f tn and it also has alot to do with whether or not the liver is compensated or decompesated as to whether it can handle the pain killers... for sure too much tylanol causes liver damage...but what is too much for each individual? and some these days say no nsaids at all with liver disease... good luck figuring it out...hopefully someone here knows more in depth about these issues....
293157 tn?1285877039 I'm still not Dx..I find the past few weeks that my leg pains mostly my left is soooo bad, my right leg is just starting to act up like my left has been for a few months.. I thought it was getting better, then it started up again at lot worse. I find it hard to sit down, then it's hard to stand up...my balance is way off.. so I have to lay down and that doesn't always help. I'm taking Tramacet every few hours, I will be seeing my pc next Tues.
Avatar f tn Lately I have chest pains almost around the clock - the painkillers and antiinflamatories prescribed (Tylenol 3 and Celebrex) don't always help so it's quite common for me to wake up in the middle of the night "screaming" in pain, also I have an ongoing headache (I would have thought that with the amount of codeine and Tylenol in my body that should not be a problem, still.....), plus lately my arms and legs hurt really bad - muscles, joints, bones the whole 9 yards.
7510956 tn?1411675017 The opinions on this one varies from doctor to doctor and also on whether or not their patient is allowed to take NSAIDS. I can't take NSAIDS, so Tylenol it is for me. I usually only take it on shot nights, though. It's not something I take on a daily basis, or even every 8 hrs.
Avatar m tn As for myself I have been using voltaren pain management medication, I have good days and some really bad days. But the information in the book the Medical Intuitive has really helped me understand what's truly going on in my body. And remember there is the mind body connection are thinking is very very powerful, today I stand fearless and will do what I need to to get better. I hope this helped, I have never answered a question someone has raised on any medical forum on the Internet.
Avatar f tn So there is a good chance that the drowsiness will go away or lessen over time. Unfortunately they don't loosen my muscles as much as or not at all like they used to. BUT, they still minimize the amount of spasms I have to endure in any given day and that is VERY NICE as those can be very painful (I know all of you what I am talking about). I use a theracane and perform self accupressure to loosen the muscles in my back perodically.
Avatar n tn for the little devils (sorry I wasn't following, but did you take the vics or oxy's or what?) You are doing so good, and I'm so-so proud of ya, but the pain issue needs to be addressed. You obviously need something to help with your pain; the question is...can you take them responsibly? Just reading your posts, my gut feeling is "YES YOU CAN" ....your strength just shines through your posts. You CAN take control of your pain, and your life...I BELIEVE IN YOU!
456090 tn?1259698437 I saw that no one answered your post. I don't know if this helps or not but my Gastro doc prescribed Entocort and Nexium to me. I also took Flagyl the first few weeks. That was an antibiotic. The Entocort is a steroid to help with the inflamation and ulcers and obviously the Nexium is for excess stomach acid. I guess it's working. I've been taking them for a few months now. They are still trying to figure out if I really have Crohns or not. If so, I guess I have a fairly mild form of it.
Avatar f tn Your mitochondria, your energy production centers in your cells, influence your well-being, your aging processes, your cellular healing, your gene expression for good or bad health, including the elimination of old cells AND replacing them with new cells. Please be patient and follow my train of thought.
Avatar n tn I am really sick of taking pills, I just want to be pain free again. I've tried and or am taking: Flexoril, Gabepentin, Tylenol 3, Torodol, Alendronate, Celebrex, and others. I have been to massage therapy, chirpractors and Physio. X-rayed to the extent of feeling like I glow, cat scanned, and cut open to remove torn up bits of my knees. To my problem, original source lower back pain (very physical occupation). I get about two hours of relief from 2 Tylenol 3's.
Avatar f tn Call the Dr and tell him your problems with the celebrex. The bad part is that most pain meds are very expensive. I have also been through the individual manufacturers for my meds....the only problem with that is that it takes at least a month for that approval..and you need the Dr. to fill out part of the app which can take a while sometimes. Celebrex really isn't a great pain reliever anyway. I use Percocet 10mg and MS contin for pain(with my Humana ins I pay 2.
Avatar n tn well i got good news and bad news that day. the surgeon was out of town for a week, so i laid in the hospital for a week getting shot up full of dilaudid every hour and a half and some other pain drugs. yet i was still in pain. i had my surgery 3 days before thanksgiving. i was in surgeon for 8 hours, the Dr said he had never seen anything like it before.
1622835 tn?1299096705 I told him all my symtoms and what has been going on for a month and that I thought I might have been allergic to the cortisone or what ever he put in my knee because I had a allergic reaction to the Lyrica and the celebrex plus history of severe ulcer bleed anti-inflammatorys are not good for me unless the bad outweighs the good he said everyone has a reaction and the cortisone wouldn't be in my system that long..I started to cry and he laughed out loud at me..
Avatar f tn my left hand is worse. my little finger is bent and can not straighten. my right little finger is beginning to do the same thing. they get sore and hurt. I also have knots in the palm of my hand. which makes it hard to turn door knobs are grasp a hold of anything. is this arthritis are what?
Avatar n tn I do not know what to do or who to go to, do I need to see a neurosurgeon or an orthopedic doctor or someone else. I do not know how to deal with the pain I am in anymore. It makes me miserable to feel this way, as I have always been very active before and after having children. Now it is such a task to go to the store, to clean, to do anything really. But I do it a little at a time as I can.
Avatar m tn My mother takes celebrex and she has a bad heart to start with ( celebrex can cause heart attacks) she and her dr. agree if she dies 6 months sooner, or whatever, at least she enjoys herself. I don't see a problem with 2-3 pills a day if you were using them correctly, as for myself, I let things get out of hand , so I think I'd be better off with none if I ever get there.
