celebrex

Avatar m tn I have been advised to take Celebrex or Topamax for headaches. Which treats headaches/migraines better? Which has had more success?
Avatar f tn Hi, Thanks for the update. Indeed, with a normal MRI result, the diagnosis of primary headaches such as migraine increases. If the medications prescribed are not working, you my need to inform your doctor for proper management. You can also ask for another doctor's opinion to ease any anxiety in the diagnosis. There are many migraine variants today and it is best that you discuss the specific type of migraine with your doctor. Both abortive and preventive medications may help.
Avatar f tn This headache often occurs in people with migraine. The pain itself generally lasts a fraction of a second but can last for up to one minute in some people. Another type of stabbing headache is called paroxysmal hemicrania. This is marked by episodes of stabbing or sharp pains that occur on one side of the head and may be associated with eye tearing or runny nose. Episodes may occur several times and last 30 seconds to a minute.
Avatar f tn I had thought that taking Celebrex a day or two before tests may have skewed them, as that had happened once when I took a migraine pill before tests. I am posting past two tests for comparison. I was about to go get retested, but realized that the ft3 was just over the high end of range. Sept 2011- on 3 grains compounded: FT4- 1.32 (0.82-1.77) FT3- 3.5 (2.0-4.4) TSH .006 (0.450-4.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I have been taking 900 mg/day Neurontin for a back injury for the last 6 months. I was on other meds, Celebrex, Skelaxin and am off of all except Neurontin. I have tapered the Neurontin to 500mg/day. This question is related to side effects that may be due to Neurontin or maybe my migraines. When I was on a higher dose of Neurontin I was getting almost daily visual disturbances in both eyes that looked like what my migraine auras look like but those are in one eye and are followed by a headache.

Avatar n tn Fosamax is safe for liver patients. Celebrex in the short term (for a couple of weeks) should not be harmful. However, it is not something he wants me on for any length of time.
Avatar m tn I took Celebrex for several years for joint pain due to Crohn's. I keep having bowel obstructions so I went to a new dr. He told me to stop taking the Celebrex and start taking a tylenol everyday. I have not had any more obstructions but I do still have some joint pain.
Avatar f tn I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
Avatar f tn true, I was on celebrex for a short time and it did not work for me. I thought it was making even more edgy and did not help with my muscle & joint pain. I think just like everything else, it is different for different people. Good luck & welcome to the forum.
Avatar m tn The tests you need to ask for are Free T3 and Free T4, which are actual thyroid hormones and TSH which is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid to produce thyroid hormones. Many doctors will only want to order the TSH - insist on the Free T3 and Free T4, as well.
Avatar f tn for restless legs, try stretching your hamstrings for a few minutes several times a day, esp before bed. otherwise, try a nsaid like meloxicam for the other symptoms in case of swelling around irritated nerve roots in your neck and back. Your doctor may be able to give you a free sample of a meloxicam, a Celebrex...assuming you've already tried all the weak over-the-counter stuff.
Avatar f tn During one of the ER visits the dr said I have costochondritis and prescribed celebrex and Percocet for the pain.
Avatar n tn I never had high blood sugar but recently after a 10 day course of celebrex for an inflamed shoulder muscle my fasting blood sugar shot up to 137. I read that celebrex has this side effect. Is it reversible?
Avatar f tn No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though. You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.
Avatar f tn I also take a number of medications, including Topamax for migraine, blood pressure meds, Celebrex, asthma medication and diabetes medication. However I have had recurring visual disturbances that only happen at night. I get up in the middle of the night - to go to the bathroom - and the bathroom is covered in geometric patterns, like a checkered pattern or little lacework pattern. It's everywhere, the walls, tub, sink, floor. I feel like I'm tripping on something!
Avatar f tn Trying a new drug for pain... Celebrex. I was on Diamox but could not tolerate it as it caused severe kidney PAIN. So, my PCP wants me to try Celebrex (3 days on, 3 days off). Anyone have any experience/knowledge of this med and, if so, how did you fare with it?
Avatar f tn Hi, these are migraine related headaches, can be treated with triptans i.e sumatriptan etc. Other options for prophylaxis are propranolol, estrogen etc, but these drugs to be started only after consultation with doctor. Are you married? kids? Usually these headaches subsides with pregnancy. For more information visit websites: http://www.medicinenet.com/headache/page12.htm http://www.patient.co.
Avatar f tn This might not be a potential case for lawsuit. These are the known side effects of celebrex, which may be more pronounced in some individuals. Though celebrex carries the risk of gastritis and GI ulceration, like other NSAIDS; the incidence is slightly lower as compared to others. Symptom of GI reflux can be aggravated by it. Rhythm abnormalities (early de-polarisation/ re-polarisation) may not be related to celebrex use.
Avatar n tn I just got this diagnosed and the gave me a steroid shot in the inflammed area ...the dr also gave me a script for celebrex to keep inflammation down.....i really don't feel like taking these pills because of side effects....would it really be bad for the healing if i don't take them?
1667344 tn?1303311751 Can I take two celebrex pills? They are 200mg. I still have some aches and it has been all ready about 4 hours ago I took 200mg.
Avatar f tn Regular doc says I need to take celebrex for arthritis pain. I know it is a NSAID so I am scared of it. He thinks it is not a problem with hep c, but he is not a Hep C doc. What is the scoop on it? Any one taking it with Hep C?
Avatar m tn Ultimately, you should see what your doctor thinks is best for you. If your doctor insists on Celebrex, you may want to contact the company and see if they have any discount coupons that your pharmacy can process. Many companies do this. The company to contact is Pfizer. For more information on pain management, please visit our link at: http://www.everydayhealth.com/pain-management/index.
